Posted: 3/3/2008 1:23:54 PM | Well....I've gotten some pics from Pam, and others from Gene. I am still waiting on any group photo's, as well as the ones from Mark. I have written BigFish and am waiting on his response as to putting the pics up on the forum. My e-mail is acting up on me today so when it fixes itself I will e-mail some out to the ones I have e-mail addresses for. I will post all I have on here as soon as I am able!!!! Just giving an update.
I am looking into other campgrounds for a Campstock II in May? Memorial day weekend??? I see others have some idea's as well. Well make sure we keep each other updated....and Hopefully I will see you all again in MAY!!!! Whoo hoo

Posted: 3/3/2008 5:29:43 PM | Whoever asked about Fort Desoto Park campground is correct--There is no Alcohol allowed at Fort Desoto Campground.
I came across two campgrounds in the Ocala National Forest. One has an admission fee to get into the campsite, but the other is a self-service campground that you do not have to pay a daily fee to get into. I am not sure what the charges are, but there is no ranger station there. It is a long trip though & not sure if anybody wants to travel that far.
Rye Park has campsites for tenting only & payment is self-service. Not sure what the overnight camping charge is. This campground is a Manatee County campground located on Rye Rd. just north of the Manatee River bridge. Take I-75 to SR-64 exit#221. Go east on SR 64 until you go past Mill Creek & turn left on Rye Rd. Go about 5 miles north and go over the Manatee River bridge. After you get over the bridge, entrance is on the right down a dirt road that zig-zags and leads to the camping area. | |

Posted: 3/3/2008 6:26:25 PM | What an awesome weekend! Sophia and Ashley thank you guys so much for putting this camping trip together! I had a blast even though I didn't really do anything all weekend, but just getting away from Tampa and relaxing was wonderful! I will definitely do it again if it falls on a weekend that my son is with his father.
I want to give a special shout out to Scott (Artwelder41) for fixing my car for me! You'll never know how much I appreciate what you did for me! And thanks to the guys who gave him a hand also. Thanks to Jeff for sharing his steak with me. I'm actually eating the last of it right now! Told you it would last me a couple of meals! And thanks to everyone who made me feel welcome, made me feel like I was part of the group. I was a little nervous at first since Taxman was the only one I'd ever met at another POF function and that was over a year ago. BUT everyone was so nice I felt like I knew you guys for a long time. I am looking forward to doing this again soon! | |

I just wanted to tell eveyone the group pics I took had spots on them due to the camera lens (forgot to check it before I took the pics). Sorry guys, so I hope Mikes came out better. hint hint there Mr Mike. I got Genes pics too. Im so ready for Campstock II so let me know when and where. It's to bad Honestly didn't stay the course a little longer on the pong aye Scott? ! I think we may have suprised her hehe! Til next time!

No diving or jumping from deck, banks, or trees (whoops, Kint and Bill are out)
No foul or abusive language -( could be most of us)
No excessive alcohol use - (could be most of us)
No illegal drug use (we wont' mention who).........
**Customers violating the policies stated above may be expelled from the park.
-No pets. (ofcourse, I am all for this, but some might wine)
Note: We do not have riding trails specific for off-road vehicles. Use of
these vehicles is allowed on camp roads for transportation purposes only.
