| Valentine's Day Posted: 2/3/2008 3:07:45 PM | | I can safely say I will not find someone before Valentines day, or Easter, or memorial day, or.......... At the same time does it matter? Really if you have your health and family why would you think about being alone during these times when other people are relishing theri relationships? | |

| Valentine's Day Posted: 2/3/2008 11:57:10 PM | It isn't likely I'm going to find anyone by Valentine's Day. At least not one that's worth spending time with.
Seems most of the women I meet here in college are more interested in getting drunk all the time than being with a good man who doesn't treat them like objects. I figure they think they're young and they can afford to party and sleep around with the "Hot guys" while they're still around. Makes me sick, sometimes. I may just give up looking until after I get my degree and get away from the whole "college scene".

| Valentine's Day Posted: 2/4/2008 12:08:12 AM | I will be alone. Of course. I'm divorced. Single. No relationship. But life's is not all bad. All of you can be my Valentine. I'll be here. Just like now. So you won't be alone. | |

| Valentine's Day Posted: 2/4/2008 4:15:12 AM | Well I'll have no significant other on that day,but I will have all my dearest friends around me. Maybe some day my prince will come.LOL | |

| Valentine's Day Posted: 2/4/2008 7:11:20 AM | Has any single woman sent themselves flowers to work on Valentines Day?
I have debated about doing that just to give myself a boost .... After all isnt the one we love the most supposed to be ourselves. So why not tell ourselves we are loveable, exciting and we would be lost without ourselves???? lolololol
Plus its always good to get the other ladies in the office thinking about hmmm who sent those to her... hehehe. (sorry i have 62 women i am in charge of so that would be fun)
Of course i would also have to wish myself a happy birthday in addition to that...
Comments? Ladies.. | |

| Valentine's Day Posted: 2/4/2008 7:26:05 AM | Valentines day... I plan on working to try and forget about what day it really is. Then when I come home...I'll hit up the gym hardcore...and have a protein shake for dinner. Then I will hopefully have the energy to start Decorating for St. Patricks Day. I have no hearts or anything up this year for this overly commercialized holiday. My apartment is as blank as the day that I moved in. I intend on just trying to forget what day it is. Heck maybe I'll think it's the 15th instead of the 14th. Who knows. You never know what kind of mind tricks you can do just to divert your attention! I didn't buy anything whatsoever this year for myself. I figure the gym membership should be good enough. | |

| Valentine's Day Posted: 2/4/2008 10:32:46 AM | I sent myself flowers once, and I disappointed myself! How bad is THAT??
The flowers were supposed to be "blue fantasy" or something, and the vase was NOT blue because they "ran out" of the good ones and instead replaced the vase with a crappy clear, cheap one. And the flowers were wilted, AND since they tried to deliver and couldn't find me, I had to go pick them up!
|
| Valentine's Day Posted: 2/4/2008 11:03:59 AM | CassaGo, that was too funny !!!!!
Note to self, go to florist and pick them out and then give them clear directions to my work address and then ask them to deliver within an hour so i have time to get there to make sure they are not wilted....

| Valentine's Day Posted: 2/4/2008 11:39:35 AM | I think that the people that really dislike Valentine's Day are going themselves a great disservice. If you don't have a S/O to be kind and loving toward; what is wrong with spoiling yourself?
Make yourself a nice dinner and enjoy a bottle of wine. Go for a walk and enjoy the fresh air. Do what you want; you can either loathe, despise or feel badly about this holiday or you can choose to be happy.

| Valentine's Day Posted: 2/4/2008 11:40:45 AM | I,m going to make it an"I LOVE ME" day!As its the day before i come home from my holiday, i,m gonna hit the shops and buy me something nice! | |
|
| Valentine's Day Posted: 2/4/2008 11:47:51 AM | First Valentine's Day without my financee...it's hurting already thinking about the fun we used to have that day...
But the day also conjures up distant memories of a girlfriend in university who I caught cheating on me that day...I was devastated.
This year...I'm doing nothing...save myself a few dollars at least.

i never enjoyed this holiday and thinks its a waste of time
It is a day just like any other. I dress the same way, do the same things, nothing different for me. The only real St. Valentine's I've had were in 1988 and 1994 I believe. From there on, and since love is an entitlement thing, I have not celebrated it. Anyway, if I love someone I love the person 365 days a year, not just one.

| Valentine's Day Posted: 2/4/2008 12:11:54 PM | Great response, Soft & Curvy!
I am going to have a "Love Myself" day!
After a facial and body polish, I'm going shopping for something soft, silky and sexy to wear, pick up a great bottle of champagne on the way home, and spend my evening lounging in a bubble bath with music, candles and my bubbly. Afterward, I'm going to slip into my new nightie and watch a good chick flick.......and finish that bottle of champagne with a plate of cheese and crackers for dinner.
It's all about your attitude........

| Valentine's Day Posted: 2/4/2008 12:16:13 PM | Well, considering that our modern Valentine's Day celebration came about as an amalgam of the ancient Roman festival of Lupercalia - during which young men drew the names of random young women out of an earthenware vessel and paired up for a day of no-holds-barred lovemaking - and of the beheading of St. Valentine, who had dared to continue to perform marriages in defiance of Emperor Claudius' ban on marriages (Claudius, like our current White House Emperor, was addicted to war and resentful of the fact that able-bodied young men might prefer to stay with their wives and families rather than go off to fight his expansionist battles) . . .
. . . one would think we could come up with LOTS more creative and interesting ways to celebrate Valentine's Day than the usual mind-numbing avalanche of flowers, chocolates, and date-sensitive declarations of love . . .

| Valentine's Day Posted: 2/4/2008 12:27:10 PM | Valentines Day....PAH I say! Another bloated money making "holiday" for Hallmark! I don't need a special day to tell someone that I love them.....
Oh and by the way....VD is short for Valentines Day!

Would someone PLEASE make sure my name is in that earthenware vessel????

| Valentine's Day Posted: 2/4/2008 1:19:30 PM | during which young men drew the names of random young women out of an earthenware vessel and paired up for a day of no-holds-barred lovemaking ================ Akin to the keys in the jar during 70s swingers parties--who knew it was a long held religious tradition? | |

| Valentine's Day Posted: 2/4/2008 1:46:25 PM | To The woman who wanted comments on sending flowers to yourself.... if your motivation truly was loving yourself , send them to yourself at home.
you wrote.... "Plus its always good to get the other ladies in the office thinking about hmmm who sent those to her... hehehe. (sorry i have 62 women i am in charge of so that would be fun)
Of course i would also have to wish myself a happy birthday in addition to that...
Comments? Ladies.. thats not self love , thats more ego... nothing wrong with ego, but if your in charge of 62 woman and just '1 gets a sniff your a fake. '. not only did you send them to yourself but you tried to fool them into thinking you had an admirer?. the rumour would take off quick....they would be laughing at you behind your back and you would loose credability.. but thats the flip side to "getting them thinking" you ever thought about buying the flowers and the card... read....... to all the beautiful woman in this office may you be blessed with love this year.. or such...... that way it is self love..... its honest (it cant backfire).... its also sharing the love for all the other woman (outta 62) who received nothing.. as team leader you will brighten there day as well. just a thought. and big hug for that day if it truly means that much to you hun... smiles/peace
