LMO about the new real outdoors shows where some dumbass drags along a highway followed by the cameras of course and rubs stick to make fire..LOL

aahh yes soap, but where would so many programs be today without "all in the family" breaking so many taboos? after all these years much of it seems pretty tame, back then though, it was the first time that many of those subjects had been broached openly.

^^^ happy to see a connoisseur of nice satire
yes indeed North America then almost reached the level of British humor at least once.

not the stuff we are exposed to these days which is barely above slapstick on the level of ghetto education and language primarily occupied with sexual conduct
sad to see that even the better of our entertainers cannot escape that level

John Laroquette Show
At least the first 2 seasons when they actually had something different
A recovering alcoholic managing a bus station, then they decided it wasn't sitcom enough and they watered it down to the point it was pure smalch.....too bad.

Honorable mentions

friday night live from the Vancouver Penthouse......midnight skit comedy in the 80's live from the Penthouse in Vancouver.

Shindig and Hulabaloo......................okay go ahead and give away your age by saying you remember them.

I'm older than you and I've never even heard of them..

I cannot believe a poster wrote Fantasy Island. I don't really watch television any more. The last show I seriously watched was Melrose Place. I liked Family Ties a lot, too. All I watch now on television is the news and sometimes Entertainment Tonight.

"I've sent men on suicide missions in two wars now, and let me tell you something - it don't make a goddamn difference whether they're riding in a Viper or walking out on to a parade ground. In the end, they're just as dead. So take your piety and your moralising and your high-minded principles and stick them some place safe ... I've got a war to fight." - Col Tigh

“Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, chief. We're evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go.” – Col Tigh
