Does it really define the person? I hope not. I would rather not spend my time with shallow people who think life is all about 'stuff' and not about interacting with other humans
You would like to think so yet for some people who fail to grow up unless they are a short in stature and that's called ,'small peoples syndrome' and drive the big box thingy to compensate for lack in height or other blankly blanks.
I haven't a clue why a man looks at my truck and cowers in fear...haha! I tried to post a pic of my "baby" on the site and it's a no go...oh, well.
Don't worry hon because it's not in what you own. duh....
Now where did I leave my platform shoes?

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/3/2008 9:41:35 AM | | It would be difficult for a woman NOT to have a better car than me! £200 Fiesta, every panel a different shade of red and dented or scratched! It should have little or on bearing on a relationship/friendship! Mik x | |

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/3/2008 9:42:31 AM | No not in the least. Now the reason she has a better car however can bother me, but only if the typical or stereotypical attitude is attached. I dated the nicest sweetest lady a few years back who's first car was brand new and expensive for her sweet 16. Every 2-5 years her folaks and her would split the differnce on a brand new car. I admit it feels awkward picking her up in the car I had at the time which I bought used and had to make my own payments for. Hers was very nice, mine was pretty scarred. but she made no big deal of it.
I dated another lady who thought I was a loser if I drove a used american car. Most women after that (save for my ex fiance , who hada worse car then her mom bought her a prius)either have no cars or worse cars than I and I find that more desturbing. I'd rather a woman had a car at least like mine or better. A worse car or no car speaks volumes.

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/3/2008 9:52:12 AM | Msg#17: Agreed!! I thought about buying a black beemer for my next car and thought..what the HELL is wrong with me????? I have FOUR cats for god's sake!!!!
Why... in land sakes' would I buy a BMW? To tell the world that "I've arrived???" Pfft!! Who the hell cares??? haha!!
I would rather have my 4-wheel drive, 6-cylinder X-terra to escort my 4 cats, 1 Egret, and two ferals to a pet friendly shelter when the next hurricane arrives in my area this year! And it surely will.
But at least I'll have a vehicle that can cut through brush, floods, and palm fronds without blinking a headlight if I need to get to shelter within minutes with my animals.

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/3/2008 10:02:23 AM | LOL my bad let me rephraise my last post...miss read yours It not the car it’s the person behind the wheel. And if she was an arrogant stuck up materialistic person I wouldn’t waist my time. I give anyone the benefit of doubt... I dated a girl fora while from here and she had money, she was one of the nices people.
I have chatted with my share of women with money and luxury and some were stuck up and acted like their sh*t didn’t stink then the conversation ends ...same with dating i went on a couple dates that i walk out on just because they were not the same person they were on the phone"stuck up" wouldt waist my time im better than that. To judge someone because they are not as successful of screwed over there ex spouse in a divorce and took all there money lol I ran into one of those also...they are just Trash

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/3/2008 10:28:15 AM | Why would having a better car than you say she is materialistic or is in debt? It's a car...she drives it...has she been rubbing your nose in it or bragging? If not, how on earth is she materialistic??????
If you drive a clapped out Yugo and she drives a 3 year old Fiesta...the car is better than yours, but does it make her materialistic?

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/3/2008 10:32:47 AM | > how do you feel when a potential date tells you she drives a higher end car
Based on many, many other threads, I'd say it definitely means she has a tiny penis.
No, really, gals for the most part aren't into buying pricey cars, so it would tell me she's already sponging big time off some other guy, whose car she's driving, and therefore would be less likely to be interested in cleaning me out. She might really be interested in me for me. So it could be a Good Thing. Except for that other guy.
Actually, I'd like to see the gal who drives a 'better' car than me.

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/3/2008 10:34:00 AM | | Most of the guys I've dated had crappier cars than mine--they like old jalopies that they can tinker with, or just don't spend money on cars. But I dated ONE guy who was super-proud of his car, and all it was was a boxy thing--Audi? [Hey, all I know for sure is that it was black] I wasn't impressed, but he sure impressed himself with it! | |

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/3/2008 11:16:56 AM | | I've found that few people are extravagant with all things or stingy with all things. Everyone has priorities - for some, it's to drive a "nice" car, for others it's clothes, others it's makeup and spa treatments, for others it's electronics and computers, for others it's taking expensive vacations. They'll scrimp on some things in order to afford what they really like in something else. As long as those things are balanced within the person and balanced within the couple, it's not a big deal. | |

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/3/2008 11:20:22 AM | Where I live, you damn well better have a vehicle that can withstand winds of up to 150 mph and room enough for 4 cats, and an Egret.
In other words: I drive a 4-wheel drive with room enough for my survival gear and the survival gear of pets.
"Who cares what anyone drives??"
I do. In a cat 5 hurricane I have a 4-wheel drive with a brush guard that will cut through the most stubborn palm fronds and plow through the Everglades that would make even "Crocodile Dundee" embarrassed.
Yep! I care what I drive. If the guy I'm with balks at my truck and my expertise in driving it out of harm's way..then he can drop dead for all I care. haha!

Outside of looking for it when you meet her somewhere, if at all - it shouldn't matter unless she brings it up in a way that would make you think she's trying to drop information on you.
You have your car, she has hers - everyone has different tastes.

And if someone does case what you drive....MOVE ON. They are not a good person.
Why would they not be a good person? I happen to care that someone drive something that is safe and doesn't look like it should be in the scrapheap. I don't care if it's new and I don't care if it's pricey, but I don't want it to resemble a bucket of spare parts.

I am not talking like a 25 y/o POS. no I am refering to people who are superficial about your car looking BAD. I have a great car. I have a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero. It is a nice ride, needs little body touch ups, but it is a sweet ride. I am talking about a person who flaunts there BMW or better that is newer like they are Queen/king shite: I care if a car is safe, I agree with you there. However, that was not the issue.

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/3/2008 12:12:10 PM | I have met many women from here that have had a so called "better car" than I was driving at the time. It really does not matter to me since I have two cars and a Harley all paid for and can pick and choose what I care to drive, ride, and share.
Many of those with that special car have just the one, and more than likely will be leasing it, since they plan on getting a new one in a few years or less. All a matter of perception, and individuality.
I prefer to buy mine and drive them for years and years and then sell them and do it all over again one at a time. I am more than happy with my Acura, Honda, and Harley, all free and clear, in good condition and ready to go........
The point is to enjoy the one you are with and all they have to offer, not just what they are driving, or the clothes they wear, or jewelry attired with.........and of course the size of their wallet. It is the total package and how it is put together that will win out in the long run.
Just my opinion.......

I am not talking like a 25 y/o POS. What is wrong with a 25 year old vehicle. I have a jeep that was built in 1947. It is still in good enough shape to drive across country. In fact I did that last year. I wouldn't hesitate to do so again. It isn't the age of the vehicle. will it get you there is the only question.
If it HAS to be a newer or a new vehicle that says a lot about the person.

You've mentioned your truck in almost every one of your comments. I'm starting to think your truck does define you. So BFD...you have a truck. Most people commenting have vehicles. We got it...you have a truck. You like it. Maybe you'd pick it over a companion. Time to move on and stop telling us about your truck. I wonder if anyone missed the fact that you have a truck? YAAAAAWN

Was notthe point I was trying to make but I agree with you on that point as well. If the vehicle is well taken care and not treated like a disposable razor it will be as asafe as he pasrts and maintainence put in place.Safety is an issue. What the thread is about is status symbol. Some people judge you by your car and shouldnt.

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/3/2008 12:46:33 PM | *Goodday*..
Yes..my "truck" defines me.
And your question to me is? and my answer to your stupid question is yes..I would take my truck over any guy any day. What the hell is is your question?? What's wrong in your eyes for me owning and paying for my truck? Are you driving a broken down gremlin and want to take it out on the rest of us?? Just askin'..

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/3/2008 12:54:43 PM | If my potential suitor was driving a better car than my battered one, hmm ... I would chuckle thinking - his *pride & joy*. Would I hear song: "Baby you can drive my car..."? Maybe, later on ... down the road.
No, it would not bother, nor intimidate me.
