| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/5/2008 6:34:47 PM | I prefer a good woman that rides a donkey. Perhaps a move to a 3rd world country with dirt roads is in order. Although the U.S. has an abundance of people who conduct themselves like donkeys , that life has gone by the wayside in mainstream America.
Dang double post....sorry. Use the poop as fertilizer to make the world green, of course.

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/5/2008 6:46:50 PM | Yeaaaa! Someone else who drives a 90's model Taurus! I have a 1997 and wonder whether this will be a turn off if I meet someone who drives a really nice car. I just flat out can't afford a high dollar car! I have too many kids! | |

Dang double post....sorry. Use the poop as fertilizer to make the world green, of course. Juan Valdez would be proud of you, even if you don't drink double shot cafesitos when your donkey is taking a break.

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/5/2008 7:40:38 PM | To me it says... Baby you're driving! She can afford the ride, she can afford the gas! Be a champ and pick up the cheques, but don't let the ego take a beating. After all...It's just a car.
SuperBeetle with no heat owner and proud! M

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/5/2008 7:42:57 PM | I had a 90's Tempo!. Called it the "Tempo of Doom". Great car till it caught on fire....Burned right to the ground...In front of my girlfriend...and her friends..... downtown...
Still, i feel shame.

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/6/2008 8:32:12 AM | Well, I drive an ancient (20 year old) Toyota Tercel that I bought because of the dents and bruises. I leave my car out in the open in a boat terminal parking lot on the mainland since I live on an island and need it when I visit the mainland. You don't want to leave a good car there, just a reliable one!
I don't care what kind of car my date drives. What I care about is whether she would judge me based on what car I drive. Admittedly, seeing my car would cause a number of superficial women to stop dating me. In that case it serves as a good filter to weed out the ones who want to know me for who I am rather than for how much (or little) money I earn.

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/6/2008 11:57:56 AM | Ok...lets be real and set aside hurt feelings and insecurities. Material possesions are extensions of who we are. If you are going to drive a junker, you will percieved as someone that has not quite reached a certain level of financial security. This does not make you a bad person ! This thread was started out as: If a woman drove a "better" car than you" and turned into a spewing of insecurities and judgements. One first dates beside just meeting the person and getting to know them, we look at the person, thier appereance, their clothes, their jewelry and sometimes we will get to see what they are driving. Just because some people prefer to date someone that is at certain level of financial comfort, does not make them bad. Sometimes maybe they just looking to be with someone that is in thier same financial status, or already accustomed to a certain lifestyle. Our material possesions (or lack of)can sometimes reflect how hard we try in life to better ourselves and not just settle, but always strive for better. Look ...if you meet someone with that fancy car, dont assume anything, just listen to the manner in which they speak, if they turn out to be the self absorbed ,show off type, then move on, but don't judge someone just because they like and can afford the better things in life, because many of us started out with nothing and worked our way up to be able to buy all these luxuries now, but still have not changed our hardworking , easy going attitude. | |

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/6/2008 1:28:39 PM | A donkey may be a tad radical (but not ' third world; actually), but a horse? As in: A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a good woman on a horse, an Amazon! Very new age and enviromentally friendly (low carbon footprint) Much more impressive than an SUV and easier to park downtown, LA or London! | |

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/6/2008 1:41:45 PM | If tthat high end vehicle is piad in full at the time of purchase great. If they are carrying a debt load because of that high end car though? No way. My home is paid off and all my vehicles are paid off. Why hook up with someone who thinks nothing of carrying such a debt load? Especially when they don't have to go high end. | |

If they are carrying a debt load because of that high end car though? No way. My home is paid off and all my vehicles are paid off. Why hook up with someone who thinks nothing of carrying such a debt load? Especially when they don't have to go high end. Before you owned those things you too had a debt while you were paying them off...right? Nobody pays cash in full for any large purchase items these days. Whether a person has to go high end, I guess nobody really has to, but if you can , why not. What is considered a debt load to some is but a drop in the ocean to others. Even if she is pushing it a little above her means, just as long as she is not asking you to pay her bills, what's the problem? Anyway, This thread is about how you would feel " if a woman drove a "better" car than you, so lets assume she can afford it or even maybe its paid in full. Lets go back to Original poster's question without referring to anything else.

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/6/2008 3:18:42 PM | | I drive a bmw, and have had negative comments from guys i talk too, what they didnt give me chance to say was, its 13 years old, takes me, my kids and the dog to the beach, takes rubbish to the tip and has been the most reliable car i have ever driven.I am not materialistic, but required a solid, reliable car that was innexpensive to buy. | |

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/6/2008 3:20:18 PM | Well, if you lived up here where homes run in the MILLIONS, and a Bentley can cost around $250,000+ or even a decent BMW will go for about $60,000+ ( I am not talking about the 3 series, that start at about 38,000). I know I don't have to think again. I am not talking some house in the backwoods of Okie Skokey or a Hyundai. Unless you are Donald Trump, some Super Star or maybe involved in illegal activity, you are not buying it cash. Anyway, back to our original poster's question....... | |

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/6/2008 3:24:29 PM | All Weather... I will agree to a point... my house is a loan... I can't imagine being able to pay cash for a home in Los Angeles... but my folks did... and they pay cash for their cars... some of it has to do with trading in what you own... and trading up...
I did pay cash for my car... and it is a BMW and was new when I bought it... most things you can save for... then buy... people just tend to want it before they have earned it...

One first dates beside just meeting the person and getting to know them, we look at the person, thier appereance, their clothes, their jewelry and sometimes we will get to see what they are driving. First dates? You mean the "search for red flags" interview? LOL.
Being's how I already get my internet service from the Amish, might as well spring for a horse and buggy. How ya like them road apples!? Cindy O

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/6/2008 3:39:33 PM | | I know its a hypothetical question, but I think the chances of meeting a woman who has better rides than me is EXTREMELY limited. Material things shouldnt matter in love though. Currently my garage has an 11 second 6-speed Z28 Camaro and a mildly modded SBC powered Firebird. | |

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/6/2008 3:47:41 PM | Ramair..... we are talking High end LUXURY cars here, not hot rods.... Although thumbs up to your rides. I have hidden away in my garage a 9.90 sec 1/4 mile, street modified, supercharged mustang, that only see the outside world on nice summer days and usually only at the track. | |

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/6/2008 3:59:02 PM | I never bring up the car unless the guy asks "what are you driving?" so he knows how to spot me in the parking lot on the first meet up. Then I only mention the color and make. If I get a compliment on the car, I just say "Thank you" and that's the end of it. I've dated guys with less expensive cars and guys with no car or any form of transportation at all. It's all about the person, not the vehicle. | |

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/6/2008 4:09:18 PM | From an essay about urbanites visiting "out in the country. "So you have a 50K SUV that you only drive on weekends? BFD. We have a 150K 'vehicle' we only use for 2 weeks out of the year. It's called a combine." You guys with the hot Camaros and Fbirds... But can they get thru a foot of snow?? Cindy O | |

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/6/2008 4:19:31 PM | hi there: To answer the original question: If a lady drove up with a nicer car than i,then i think it would be really cool, it might say she has good taste, and also cares for what she drives, it also might say she has a touch of class, depending on what she is driving?>
it shouldn't matter what you drive, but we all know it has become a statis in our society, in the same token,we are what we drive, or what we think we are,?>
Went on a date a while ago, didn't know her very well, but had a feeling of what she was like, maybe a little,?> picked her up in my brothers work car, a caddy, but still not mine,LOL; then she asked me if the car was mine?. i was honest, told her no, it was my brothers, mine was in the shop, got too love american cars, lol. had a breif silence, then took her home, never heard from her,: seen her the following week,at an intersection, and she was smilin then, had the vette out,1980. red does have a certain attraction,:) geuss what?. had an email within, 2 hours, imagine that,::::::)))))))))
so i geuss it does matter,: but really should not, :)
next time i might take the chevy 4x4 with the lift kit,,lol. :)

| If a woman drove a 'better' car than you.... Posted: 2/6/2008 4:45:03 PM | I drive a car which the detective Colombo would be proud of, he he.
Nah, it doesn't stress me too much. Doesn't seem to stress them too much either. More important things to worry about.
Cheers. | |
