Just alittle crazy, I agree with you on Shockey. A change of scenery will suit him well.
New York can be a tough place to play but I hope it does't come back to bite us big time. Outside of all the baby stuff he's for real. I have big expectations for him.

I think Shockey will do well. I think the trade might actually humble him the first year. I am sure he wants to prove himself and stay healthy. If that coincides with each other Saints could very well be in the playoffs. Facing the Saints in the playoffs (Giants that is) I would not want to be in Shockeys way.

NEWARK, N.J. -- The New York Giants and New York Jets are considering awarding naming rights for their new stadium to a German company that once had ties to the Nazis.

Officials from German-based Allianz -- one of the world's largest insurance firms -- said that they've atoned for past history and should not be judged by the company's World War II record.

Allianz once insured Nazi death camps and refused to pay life insurance claims to its Jewish clients -- instead granting the proceeds to the Nazis.

The naming rights negotiations between Allianz and the Giants and Jets were first reported by The New York Times, which estimates the potential price tag could reach $20 million to $30 million a year.

Alice McGillion, a spokeswoman for the New Meadowlands Stadium Corp. which is overseeing the construction of the new home of the Giants and Jets, would not confirm details of the negotiations because no deal has been made.

"NMSC has undertaken a rigorous due diligence effort in the consideration of all our potential sponsors and naming rights partners," she said in a written statement.

"In this instance, NMSC management and the teams' owners became sensitive to Allianz's history. This thorough review also found that Holocaust experts, former government officials and leading Jewish and survivor groups believe that Allianz has made determined efforts towards restitution and continues to do so today."

Spokesmen for both teams did not return messages seeking comment.

Peter Lefkin, a senior vice president with Allianz America, said there was an "ongoing discussion" with the Giants and the Jets, but declined to provide any details.

He said the company had been working for the past 65 years to "redress the wrongs of the past, and establish ourselves as a good corporate citizen."

Lefkin cited several Holocaust reparations programs, including the International Commission on Holocaust Era Insurance Claims, that the company has participated in.

"All of these were very much voluntary on the part of Allianz," Lefkin said. "We feel like we've had a moral responsibility to address the wrongs inflicted by the Third Reich, and we've always sought to operate both honorably and transparently in every country in which we have operations."

Several Jewish organizations are opposing the move, saying the company's name is a constant reminder of the past.

The Anti-Defamation League issued a statement calling the proposed naming rights deal "inappropriate" and "an insult to the memory of Holocaust victims."

"The New York region is home to many Holocaust survivors and their families and to World War II veterans for whom memories of the war are still vivid," the statement reads. "We hope that the teams' ownership will take this into account as they move toward a decision on naming rights."

Mark Levenson, the president of The Jewish Federation of Greater Clifton-Passaic -- located in an area of northern New Jersey where many Holocaust survivors live -- said he frequently attends Giants and Jets games and would hate to see the company's name on the new stadium.

"The Holocaust was a pretty unique event, and Allianz had a pretty bad role in that event," Levenson said. "As for reparations after the fact, it doesn't erase how despicable those insurance policy proceeds being paid to the Nazis were. They [Allianz] are in business, and that's OK, but it doesn't mean they are entitled to have their name on a stadium."

Wow I didn't know you owned a NFL Franchise. What team do you own?

This is a retort from a comment I made regarding Shockey, where I expressed my lack of enthusiasm for having a self centered, egotistical player come to my team. The Saints are a TEAM not comprised of individuals. I'm sorry I am just now catching this a month and a half later.

Crazy: you should realize that fans actually do own the team because we are the ones who buy the periphernalia and tickets. No, I don't reap the profits or have a say so in personel decisions but, I do call them my team. Have you ever been asked, "Who's your team?" You probably gave an answer that wasn't, "I don't own a team." You most likely said, "The Giants are my team." Perhaps in the future you can be less of a hypocrite and more of a human. A human who loves their team enough to claim them as their own. It may not be an accurate, concise statement but, other humans know what I meant by it.

You can have Shockey back. The Saints don't need no self righteous drama queen. The guy is a piece of s..t. I should calrify that...he is a piece of s..t until he starts catching tds for me.

I replied~~~Wow I didn't know you owned a NFL Franchise. What team do you own?

I would take him back. When he is healthy and part of the operation he is very good at what he does. And his attitude can be a motivator. There are teams that do not want to face him on the field. He is a good football player. Wait and see what he does for the Saints. There are so many players that cause trouble. Tell be about a Drama queen... I think of TO on Dallas

By this statement I am **** slapped??? And you caught up to this over a month later?

But yet you respond with these words~~{quote]Perhaps in the future you can be less of a hypocrite and more of a human. A human who loves their team enough to claim them as their own. It may not be an accurate, concise statement but, other humans know what I meant by it.

and your point is?

My team as you say, has been a Giant fan all my life. I have read so much BS about them in these forums. I always stuck up for them and stood by them. Win or lose. So I am the hypocrite as you define one. I did not rip apart a player from my team as you say. I wished him luck. He is a good player. You make his character which makes him a man or not or even a good player or not. You castrated him! I didn't. Who' the hypocrite?

Maybe you should take the log out of your own eye

Seems to me you have to pick up your nuts to make you more of a man in your judgements of me.

Have a nice day

Well said.....

You have to understand that JaB has an attention disorder, so for him to understand you need to turn it down a notch. Maybe try to explain it the way you would to a 5 year old.

It looks like the NFC East is going to be the toughest division this year. The Giants still have some important divisional games to win before I take them seriously. I'm sorry, but I think last year was a fluke for this team.

I disagree, they played New England hard an almost won the last game of the season. They beat the three best teams in the league in the playoffs and you call that a fluke? I call that HOT and giving it there all to win. A win is a win in my book. Beating Dallas after losing two in regular season. Beating Green bay in Green bay with sub zero temperatures and beating an undefeated team a fluke. No frickin way. Guess being 3 and 0 this year so far is a fluke too. Or maybe lucky. No they just do not get respect period. As I said before the Giants are the Rodney Dangerfield's of football. Only fluke I saw was on my fishing pole at Atlantic highlands this past summer.

The Giants couldn't have asked for a better way to start the season at 3-0. Plax+Eli is turning out to be one of the elite hook-ups with Brady-Moss out of the picture this year. The only problem for the Giants is that they are in the NFC East, which should still send 3 teams to the playoffs.

Sure....But we had great success, while the Giants are one time wonders. Their a bunch of bullies, only can weak teams. Wait until they go against a team like Dallas....Put Eli in his place.

Really last time I checked the Giants won three Superbowls and amazingly, so did the Patzies. But with out Brady the Patzies are Basement dwellers by the end of this season.

I'm talking about repeat....Did this one go over head too? I'll see another SB before your Giants will see one. May not be this year, but I will....And anything could change during this season.
