You can find them in almonds, avacados, and a few other foods just look them up on google. My problem is the hips and the thighs so it did not sink in all the foods but maybe that will help you. They suggest that these in moderation help you loose belly fat.

The fat around the abdomen is the hardest to lose, you won't start losing noticeable weight there until you've lost most of the fat stored in the rest of your body. It can help a lot to prevent bloat by not over doing the salt. I'd simply recommend walking or running regularly and trying to improve your diet. Eventually you'll get results and feel better all around.

No meat and potatoes mentioned on my profile. However, on a post, I said something like I'd rather die than live with a partner who only ate meat and potatoes. That would be a culinary death sentence.
Medical check-up - yeah. I'm pursuing that.

But you can have strong abbs and still a littl tummy fat the only way too hit that is too lean up which means carb burn over carb intake.

Stay clear of fizzy drinks and go for water, flavoured or plain. Cut out ready meals and reduce the amount of salt and sugar you eat. Ready meals and fast food are packed with both! Join an aerobic gym class that includes floor exercises that tone the upper and lower tummy muscles.
Steer well clear of these diets such as Atkins! They're fine if you're after a very quick fix ( eg a week before a big date ) but they're not good for long term.

| Belly Fat - Help any tips on how to lose it, thanks Posted: 2/14/2008 1:49:46 PM | Free info from a trainer here:
It "seems" you have more fat around your belly than other areas...you probably have more adipose cells in that area...everyone is built a little different. When you start losing weight (shrinking the size of these cells), people will probably notice it just as much in your face as in your belly...YOU just notice it more in your belly.
Water retention is a different matter...yes, carb retention = water retention. This means fiber will even make you retain water...we all should stay away from processed sugars, but drinking a lot of water and staying away from diet drinks will help you keep from bloating. Low carb diets are a quick fix...if you start eating carbs again you will again put on water quickly.
The million dollar answer...do MORE INTENSE aerobic exercise...your sugar stores will grow larger so when you eat carbs they will store in these larger stores and not be converted to fat if not needed. Eat natural foods...as unprocessed as possible.
There is no magic to a diet...it's a lesson in self control...that's what they all have in common, and why any of them can work if you are dietarily controlling your intake. Good luck!

| Belly Fat - Help any tips on how to lose it, thanks Posted: 2/16/2008 5:34:31 PM | | What I know, is that firstly you need to eat healthily. Don't eat chips, crisps etc. But you do still need to eat reasonable portions, as this increases metabolism. Which is our body's ability to burn calories. Also, high intensity exercises burn more calories than low. So if u can try sprinting or hill sprints, as opposed to long distance running, that is better. Hope this helps. | |

| Belly Fat - Help any tips on how to lose it, thanks Posted: 2/16/2008 8:09:09 PM | If you burn more calories than you ingest, then you lose weight.
Also instead of eating 3 times a day, eat 5 small meals a day. This keeps your metabolic rate higher as it is always working. It is not sleeping then all of a sudden you eat a large meal.. works really hard then sleeps. By eating small portions (have an apple, or a banana or something of the sort every few hours).
Fat is eaten by muscles as they require energy, so if you work out and do cardio, as your muscles develop they will require more energy and find alternate sources to get this energy.
Cardio kicks ass when it comes to shedding weight.
Cut out junk food or at least cut down how often you have it. You will notice drastic results.
Also.. this may sound a bit harsh, but do a colon cleansing. Not an enima or anything. A real colon cleanse actually is a very potent high fibre diet (drink) and you put in a splash of a root extract solution which kills bacteria in your colon. Most people have about 10-15 lbs of toxic waste (shit) in their systems that needs to be flushed out.
Why do you need to do that? Well... your body will be able to digest and work more efficiently.... google doctor natura.. read up on it, and no its not a gimic, my doctor actually suggested I try it so I did ,,,, with excercise and proper diet I went from 212 down to 171... in 5 months. Stomach is completely gone....

The waist is usually the last place you see a dramatic reduction in body fat. Eat healthy, go to the gym regularly and you will see a big difference faster than you think.

So you have a personal vendetta against artificial sweeteners, good for you, her question is about fat loss though, not sweeteners.

I'm sure becoming an anorexic could help the OP lose belly weight, but my *guess* is she wants to do it a healthy way, and many of us think diet soda has no part in helping one be healthy.

| Belly Fat - Help any tips on how to lose it, thanks Posted: 2/20/2008 5:16:52 PM | Each person's distibution of fat cells is mostly idiosyncratic. The order in which they fill up when getting fat and empty when losing fat is pretty much fixed. So if you've got visceral fat (the dangerous kind) when you've lost fat elsewhere, then you'll have to change your nutrition (no dieting, that always fails) to keeping reducing your overall fat and hope the residual visceral fat reduces acceptably.
btw, "they've shown" that beer contributes disproportionately to visceral fat. iow, "beer belly" really is a belly from beer.
The bloating and gas can be due to an imbalance in intestinal bacteria, so you might think about no-fat live yoghurt and pro-biotics. However, a healthy diet of fresh veg and low-glycemic fruit will usually produce more gas than an unhealthy diet of dead food and processed crap. Tons of info on the web for "intestinal gas bloating". There are some natural supplements/herbs that are supposed to help with gas.

If you want to get fit, exercise. If you want to lose weight, run a caloric deficit each day. (gotta eat The Right Stuff)
btw, the LDS people fast one day per week and are known for their superior weight control and cardiovascular health.

| Belly Fat - Help any tips on how to lose it, thanks Posted: 2/22/2008 9:04:49 PM | If you want to target an area, it's not very scientific, but jiggle it! I love hula hoops, including pretend hula hoops and attempts at belly dancing. My favourite is the alphabet belly dance, imagine writing the alphabet with your belly button in big letters, then write numbers - its exhausting! Pelvic floor muscle exercises are another favourite, and the nice thing about them is you don't need equipment, you can do them at the sink, you can do some every time you sit down.
If the sit ups are hard at present, go to the park where the chin up bars are and let yourself sag forward belly first as a stretch, stretch up and hold your tummy in, get creative. Any time you can "feel" those tummy muscles you are doing good.
Get some nice aerobic style dance music, make a habit of turning it on, as an auto cue to do something physical - you won't even notice you are exercising. As you walk around the house, get into the habit of swinging those hips! It all adds up!
There are a lot of things that can be causing that bloated feeling. There are allergies/food intolerance, which can also send you on a slippery slide towards weight gain. There's problems of the "female" kind that would be worth checking into.

| Belly Fat - Help any tips on how to lose it, thanks Posted: 2/24/2008 12:24:17 AM | Work out you basal metabolic rate: http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/
Then add on a percentage for your activity level: http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/harris-benedict-equation/
It takes 3,500 calories over your allowance to gain one pound of weight. It takes 3,500 calories under your allowance to lose one pound of weight.
Divide that 3,500 calories over a week = 500 calories a day.
For every 500 calories a day you go under or over your allowance, you will lose or gain one pound of weight in one week.
Calories count!!! | |

This site tells about DIM. I'm feeling slow this morning. What is DIM?
There's something more to this belly fat mystery than the duh??? eat fewer calories. I'm not fat, I eat fairly well and I exercise and yet there is a puddle of volume at my belly...and it is a recent phenomenom.
