Martha Graham.......'contraction and release.'
Juniper Moon. I've been reading more and more that crunches are pretty useless. I Googled contraction and release and Martha Graham and although there is information about the movement, there are no specific details, for example: Do you do this lying down? How long do you hold the contractions for?
Any further info would be much appreciated. | |

Try 5 minutes running on a treadmill, immediately followed by 5 on the stair stepper, then 5 on the bike, and 5 more on an elliptical machine. | |

This is the most dangerous location according to heart crowd. Abdominal fat packed in around the visceral organs. Watching a video of an abdominal operation, I was amazed to see the surgeon rutting around in the many bags of yellow visceral fat trying to get to the organs.
Fat cells are filled or emptied (by a factor of 400:1), wherever they are (in the muscles, subcutaneous, visceral, etc.), pretty much uniformly (although I did see that excessive beer drinking does actually produce a beer belly. I've been amazed by some people, male and female, with enormous beer bellies but normal legs, arms, neck, butt-less). But in general, with fat everywhere, it's usually impossible to lose weight from a specific place like stomach or love handles or derriere or thighs or arms. Fat gain/loss is systemic, not local, in most cases. | |

If you do a lot of crunches, that might tighten up your abs a little but, but it won't reduce the fat that is already there. | |

Personally I Love Great Food "'Fattening Foods I am also a Great Cook when I choose to be ""In My Busy schedule I eat ad Lib and I eat so much JunK ........What I really want is to eat a nutritious Meal 5 Course ""I miss my cooking and having a meal on the table at 6pm and Breakfast at Brunch ......... Being Single Cooking daily has became a thang of the past Now that I am Single I cook but its not the same nor does it mean the same ......... Seems like there are so many quick & easy foods ready to go now days Its easy to fall prey to them with The fast pace lives ''' people are busy and working all the time ...... Also we must give Thanks to the Fast Food chains for Supersizing everything including us ......... I think fast food /drive thrus needs to go and folks get back to the basics , dining in ....It would also cut down on gas fumes ^ just think how long people sit in line burning 10.00 in gas waitng on a 3-4.00 meal '{'Save our fuel} It would also improve the enviroment {pollution}...in many ways ...jmo It would cut down on trash too "'Think of all the to go cups '''paper "'bags and boxes .. Why do people fall for pills and all sorts of things.
*puts on flame suit*
I'll say it...
Because the people that fall for it are the ones that want to be lazy and not diet / exercise.
Working out can suck - especially if one hasn't done it for a while. The trick is - don't kill yourself, and don't expect any "overnight / 30 day / easy / loose weight while you sleep" crap. It hasn't worked the last millenia, and there's no magic pill.
Eat well - get outside. Work out 30-50 min a day. Find time - DO IT. Start with walking - easy low impact work, then work your way up. It's going to take a year or two, but you'll look great if you stick with it. You'll also be much healthier. This HAS to be a lifestyle change, or it'll never work. | |
