All who is in favor of getting together this Friday evening-May 2-please email me and let me know through mail here or email me privately. I vote for us to meet downtown to the martini bar for a drink and then go from there. I also vote we all meet on Fri nite at a Tims prior to martini to share a coffee and to get to know each other a little bit. Meet time at Tims could be 8:00pm? we can also discuss the male screen names on here lol This forum has been ongoing for weeks so lets all meet and go out and have a good time. Posted: 4/29/2008 5:05:47 PM | What is the martini bar? Is there anywhere else to go besides downtown? I never liked it in my 20s and wonder if it's changed. Is there a bar where more mature ladies like many of us go? Maybe a country bar? I definitely don't want to go to a place full of 20 somethings listening to music my kids like or a place so packed you can't move. Sorry, I know that sounds negative but I wouldn't enjoy that type of place.

The Martini Bar is a club located on George Street and it hosts a wide range of ages from about 35 and up on a typical Friday evening. I'm unsure of any country bars but am open to suggestions or ideas from others. I have been to the Martini several times and it's usually a good age crowd and good music, and no, not dance music! lol | |

Hi "noisy introvert"... I won't be able to go out with you guys after all, going out of town on Friday for a few days..Definitely have to do it some other time though with you. I hope you guys have fun....
Being single is one thing but... Being single and going out alone is definitely another! lol
Alot of us don't like to go to the bar alone, me included  so it kinda puts a damper on the "single / going" out life!

I was looking forward to this coming weekend to but going to going out to visit with my parents now instead... and I wouldn't pass that up for anything

Posted: 5/21/2008 5:34:47 PM | I am still interested in going out sometime but I'm not interested in going to a place with loud music and dancing. I prefer more of a "neighbourhood pub" type of place with pool tables and maybe some bar snacks like wings or mozza sticks. You know, "where everybody knows your name", lol. Of course, after a few drinks (ok ,more than a few for me to want to dance), one could end up actually wanting to go to the crowded, noisy bars!
Can anyone tell me why drinks in bars are so expensive here? Prices in the liquor stores are roughly the same here and in PEI but drinks in bars here are wayyyy more expensive. A beer or mixed drink there is about $3.30 and a cooler about $4.25. Are prices the same everywhere here or is it just the one bar I've been to that has high prices?

I also found it expensive here for drinks since where i come from we pay 3.00 top 5 depending on what you want to drink but I am getting pretty use to it by now. There were a few girls I know that were heading out last night but I am home had to work and sick so i wasn't able to make it out this week. I am planning on going out though the first weekend in June if anyone wants to come your more then welcome | |
