| Plentyoffish Voice Mail and SMS Messaging System. Posted: 2/15/2008 5:02:54 PM | (Thank you for adding this service. I am sure it will compliment your existing and very nice service. Just a note (don't hate me) but received is spelled incorrectly in a number of places in admin messages. Just wanted to let you know...it is a great sight and amazing that you are running it out of your apartment)
Dont hate me but its a site not a sight. People who live in glass houses should not throw stones. No offense intended.

| Plentyoffish Voice Mail and SMS Messaging System. Posted: 2/15/2008 5:29:19 PM | Ok I got it working, so the next obvious progression should be the ability for us to leave sound clips on our profiles, then people can hear what our voices sound like.

| Plentyoffish Voice Mail and SMS Messaging System. Posted: 2/15/2008 6:14:27 PM | | I think it is a great feature....but I don't want to use it, and won't be activating it....however: ADMIN....if someone sends me a voicemail, can I refuse it without blocking the user? If one of my friends sends it, I don't want to have to block them, just the voicemail! Is that possible? | |
|
| Plentyoffish Voice Mail and SMS Messaging System. Posted: 2/15/2008 6:43:12 PM | ^^^ That's what I want to know too, as I don't wish to sign up for this service. (I hate phones and voicemail)
Do we just delete them without opening them or what do we do?

| Plentyoffish Voice Mail and SMS Messaging System. Posted: 2/16/2008 5:49:29 AM | Mystic: it is already on your profile -it's on everyone's
Re: getting a vm and refusing it. Pretty sure the first one you get from someone will go to your inbox and it shows as a little inserted box thing and you just click "play" and it plays the message. SO you don't have to block or anything, you would just not listen to it. You could reply I don't listen to those or you could ignore it, or you could hit delete.
After you activate yours you can choose to send them to your phone. But before that they will just go to your inbox on POF.
SO it's really not a big deal at all if you don't want to use it, you would just not listen to them in your inbox.
Does that help??? I"m not 100% sure I"m right (crappy memory and all) but the couple times I"ve tried it' I'm pretty sure that's how it worked.

Likewise I wish to be able to turn this off too, just like IM.
I have received two that I do not intend to listen to and would prefer they not appear at all.

| Plentyoffish Voice Mail and SMS Messaging System. Posted: 2/16/2008 10:13:23 AM | ^^^ I think I'll just put a disclaimer on my profile saying that voice mails will be unheard/deleted on contact...like you did.....that should solve the problem for now. | |

| Plentyoffish Voice Mail and SMS Messaging System. Posted: 2/16/2008 10:35:53 AM | | Great.....another tool for freaks to turn off women so they won't listen to a sincere voice mail from a guy that's not explaining how he's pleasuring himself to her pic. NEXT! | |

Yeah, I don't want to hurt people's feelings but to me going to "voice" is something reserved for people I'm really interested in meeting and have become friends with. I don't want it foisted upon me because someone "can". If I wanted voicemail from them, they'd have my number.
Besides, I still haven't heard whether or not it can be moderated. There are a few whackos on the forums that would have given me an earful if they had the opportunity to spew into a phone.
I am sure there will be many threads on the fact that now not only mail is not being responded to, but Oh Dear, unacknowledged voicemails...
I'd just like to be able to disable the ability to send to me.
Please. | |

| Plentyoffish Voice Mail and SMS Messaging System. Posted: 2/16/2008 11:00:56 AM | ^^^^ I thought that nobody would be able to send you a voicmail unless you and they both had each other as favourites???
Could this be clarified by Admin. please!
I'm also under the impression that only folks with pictures posted are able to access this feature.?? If this is the case, I can see a lot more profiles with no pictures in the near future. It also appears to be a handy/dandy tool for those that aren't really single or living alone. (Contact without having to give out a real number that can be traced back ) Good Lord!

| Plentyoffish Voice Mail and SMS Messaging System. Posted: 2/16/2008 11:18:19 AM | | Wwll stove top its like this.I went into your profile and I couldnt voice mail you if i wanted to no pic.....I went to herding cats profle and I could send her a voice mail. if I wished.Neither of you being on my favs or me on yours....so hope that answers your question......and yes I can see this being used for all sort of underhanded purposes . but what in this wonderful world of communication cant!!!!!!!!!!! | |

I think you're right. There's no option to send you voice mail.
Add my profile to the list with no photos.

| Plentyoffish Voice Mail and SMS Messaging System. Posted: 2/16/2008 11:22:30 AM | | Something else admin may want to consider... Now that you've alerted everyone to the Jangl site... People can set up their own calling account without logging onto POF.. less traffic coming to POF then.... Or am I wrong here? | |

| Plentyoffish Voice Mail and SMS Messaging System. Posted: 2/16/2008 12:42:15 PM | Nice fature for some but those I want to talk to already have my phone number. The otherrs will recieve my number as I see fit.
How can you opt out of recieving voice messages? Without deleting your pic.
I foresee a lot of problems with this.

| Plentyoffish Voice Mail and SMS Messaging System. Posted: 2/16/2008 1:23:55 PM | | I don't understand why some of you make things so complicated. If you don't want to listen to a voice mail message then don't play it and just delete it from your inbox like any other unwanted message. DUH!! | |

It's not the same thing. Also, I am one of the types that has always answered every email sent to me. I do not want to feel obligated to listen to people's voice messages to me or feel I have to answer for why I chose not to.
Problem solved for now. If I have to take my photo down to opt out, then that's what I did.

| Plentyoffish Voice Mail and SMS Messaging System. Posted: 2/16/2008 2:29:00 PM | ^^^ The problem is not solved HC....I can still seeeeeeeeee you;)
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing!!!
I went ahead and added that disclaimer on my profile like I said I would...hopefully Admin. will give us the same options for this as we have for the IM... to be able to turn if off completely or be able to choose the option of having just our favorites leave us a voice mail....that would be cool:)
