Weather is calling for up to 1/2 foot in the higher Smokeys. Ober Gatlinburg and the skiers will be happy. It is 5:32Am and just wet outside. To this former desert gal, anything under 73 is fireplace and hot chocolate weather! Just trying to add some heat to the room. Nope. He does not put off heat.

I just might at that, except it is a pretty hefty trek over there from here. Got to figure about 9 hours on the road round trip, if one aims for the Pigeon Forge vicinity.

I'll be over thattaway again in the Spring though no doubt. I really miss G-Burg and the good ole Smokie Mtns. Would be great if it were a little less chilly though..

Still givin' some thought to a possible re-lo to Maryville, or somewhere close by.

I bought my laptop during tax free Easter Week last year. Saved the sales tax and got a free printer. Great time to purchase clothing also.

Just wanted to show you the FLOWERS BLOOMING in my front yard.

Are they still alive and blooming TNman? After this recent ice, snow and freeze, I wonder. Pretty odd weather here for around the 1st of March. We only got 2 dustings here this Winter, but this was by far the more significant of the two, at least in my neck o' the woods.

I hope, once it moves up to the 60's this Sunday, that it decides to stay that way. But as unusual as it's been recently, I'm not doing any predictions. Although I'm not looking forward to breaking out the weedeater either. At least not with my yard. YIKES!

Huh?

But that pic is just flowers, right C.W.? Or if you're in it, you're well in the background somewhere.. A little hard to tell for sure.. Are they still blooming after that freeze-over we had most of this past week?

Dunno where the Michigan Yankee-Lady set made off to.. Ain't seen 'em much lately..

Oh there you are C.W.. Yep, one has to go see the larger version.. So you didn't say if the flowers all survived the freeze or not? I hope so!

I agree! I don't know what it is about Tennessee either, that makes folks so reluctant to become involved in social gatherings or to get together to have fun. Having been one of the planners for the original Meet & Greets here, I have never really understood that.

Having lived a number of other places, I find it very unusual that TN is perhaps the least likely of the bunch to want to be involved in such things.. Washington D.C. was probably the most likely, oddly enough. Atlanta, GA, Hawaii and California, very much so as well. Yet we here in Tennessee are well known for our southern hospitality, and our personable ways, or at least were, at one time. I don't get it..

Hence the "Tumbleweeds" thread. Just a silly thread, but there is some truth behind it. It shows how so few here actually choose to interact, even in the forums.

Well, we'll just have to get 'em stirred up more 'round here-abouts C.W.

I don't know what the problem is exactly, but if them dang Yankess can do it, up there in igloo-land, I figger we Rebs surely can too! Somehow!

Seems there was pretty good participation in the recent Nashville Event, although some said it was primarily ladies. True? But there was a lot of posting in that party thread too. Yet they don't seem to come here to post very much. No idea why..

OTD take two Vitamin C's, get plenty of rest, and call us in the morning!! Did you get your 'puter pretty much back on-track?

Looks like you are gonna stir up some action in good ole Tennessee. Sounds like you have a plan, glad to hear that. The parties I host here I have a blast with. OMG By the time this party comes next Saturday these guys here are gonna have 100 pages on the thread if they keep going. I laughed so hard again thought I was gonna die. We really do have a great time with a pre party on the threads and then the party itself is just a blast.

I'll let you be the judge of the MEET AND GREET in Nashville. ~ I thought it was about EVEN, same amount men and women.

I don't really know for sure C.W. I wasn't in attendance for this last M & G. Had something else I was involved with. I was just reading some of the comments in the M & G thread after it was over, which seemed to imply there were quite a few more women there than men, and there was some concern about the cover charge, which may or may not have had something to do with that. There were also some comments about "more should have come in, as opposed to just looking in the window". But I've always understood there were a lot more men as POF members from Tennessee than there are women. So hearing that was a little surprising.

The first M & G we had, perhaps two years ago, was about 50-50 I'd say, women to men, but that was quite a different format than this last one. So I don't know directly what may have transpired this time.

On the other hand, I understand they tried one outdoors at the lake (Nashville's Priest Lake I guess), prior to our first actual M & G, and that it was almost entirely men. So it didn't work out well. But one of the organizers of that one indicated that some women had come by, but seeing very few other women there, did not actually stay and join the group. So that's just kind of a summary of the history as I know it, to date.

All this though, is the history as it applies to Music City only. There have been others in other parts of TN. (I.e. Knoxville). Not sure what the end-results have been, other than the one in Cleveland for New Years Eve, didn't work out for apparent lack of interest.

That is amazing you had so many guys, the majority of stuff here is a woman for each man's arm. For those who need help with the math---------that's 2 to 1. Yep, the girl if feeling better!

I have a contact in Cookeville that I met on here, I will post this thread to him and he can promote it in his group. If you don't mind other singles, I have a network that I can promote it on.

Methinks I hear the growing rumble and vibration of a herd of Tumbleweeds rolling down Main Street, headed for the Court House Square, yet agin..

So how come it is that Tennesseans don't want to interact as much as other States do? Including them danged Yankees?

I'm kinda new here, by comparison to many at least. But I don't really get it, why so few use these forums.. Anybody know?

This girl was sick; then I had to go to Johnson City yesterday, work here today, teach dancing tonight, SLEEP in the morning and then teach again tomorrow night. Maybe they just aren't social animals.

I posted the meet and greet to a Cookeville connection and he is watching for updates.

Aha!! Johnson City eh? Hmmm...

Is this a situation of your itty bitty heart strings being strummed with some level of gentlemanly expertise perhaps?

Anything juicy you'd like to share with us OTD? Should we be marking our calendars or renting a tuxedo?

Okay okay.. I know that's a bit nosy, huh? But TMA was the curious one. It wasn't so much me as it was him. Honest!

Work, work, work. I took a 10 minute side trip to Kingsport to hug my sister and then back home. As far as a man? No one is brave enough!

IT IS SNOWING! AND I DON'T HAVE TO GO TO WORK TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am supposed to teach dance tonight, but it might be cancelled. Who knows?

Awww, no romance on the immediate horizon eh?

And I already rented my tux too..

So are you familiar with the "Amos Moses" line-dance OTD?

That one is great fun! I learned that up in DC, whilst residing there, and it remains my fav to this very day.. Although you seldom hear of it anymore. Oddly enough, CW Line-Dancing was really big up in DC. Suburban VA that is. Yet here in Music City we don't see very much of it.
