Dragon Run for Cars & Bikes Sunday 11 October - the most fun you can have with your clothes on!!! Posted: 9/25/2009 6 02 PM Sunday 11 October
Fun Car / Bike run to the Dragon through the North Carolina mountains and the fall leaves.
Guys bring your cars, girls bring the “zams”
We meet at chiefs parking lot in the morning at 7am - yes 7 am !!!!
Guys drive the cars, and the girls choose a ride.
We pull out of the parking area at 7:15 - if you are late, go home and back to bed.
We will travel in convoy and stop every hour. Then the girls will get out and find another ride. Girls may not ride with the same driver again.
We will travel to the small town of Deals Gap, where the dragon starts.
Here we will be able to base ourselves for a few hours while those that want to “run the dragon”
The dragon is 11 miles and 318 turns, or something like that, the most fun you can have with your clothes on.
From there we will return to chiefs, changing passengers every hour, so the ladies can get to their cars and those of us that would like to can have a drink or 3 at chiefs. expect to be back around 7 or 8pm - hopefully in love
No drinking during the day while we are driving.
Guys :- you supply the car / bike (must have helmet for your passenger) and pay for all the gas Any car is fine guys, big / small / fast / slow, and if you don’t want to run the dragon you don’t have to, there will be a group of people at the “base camp”
Girls :- you supply the zams (sandwiches ), the way to a mans heart is through his taste buds No store bought zams - make it yourself and bring enough
So this will be like speed dating without the speed You will get to spend about an hour with about 10 different people Plenty of time to find the great things about the other person - you know we all have our good points So come make some new friends
BRING YOUR CAMERAS - THIS AREA IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PART OF THE WORLD DURING FALL
BRING SOME CASH TO BUY “DRAGON” T-SHIRTS, ETC, ETC

| Tumbleweeds Blowing Through Tennessee!! Posted: 11/6/2009 1:46:07 AM | TUMBLEWEEDS!! BLOWING EVERYWHERE!!!
MILLIONS of the darned thangs!! All up and down the road.. It's a dust bowl. all over again!
Is there such a thing as a "Ghost State"? Or is that term reserved only for towns?
Hey, I wonder if we could sell 'em to some other State?? Good eatin', from what I hear.. Crunchy yeah, but tasty.. A little bleu cheese dressing can do wonders.

| Tumbleweeds Blowing Through Tennessee!! Posted: 11/6/2009 5:06:11 AM | | No dustbowl at my house...........the water-heater decided to die..........My cellar had a swimming pool when I came home. I noticed a couple of days ago that my water was not as hot as normal. Figured it was dying and would deal with it next week when I was off. Started taking hammock to the basement and decided to check it out. Thankfully, there is a drain in the floor. I dread the water bill when it comes out next month. Wet red clay...........Went to Lowe's, purchased the waterheater for the plumber to pick up this AM. He did run by last night on his way home and turned off the water and electricity to the water heater. He will be here at 11 to install. So much for the budget. But I have a job and a credit card so I can't complain too much. I will just whine a little. | |

| Tumbleweeds Blowing Through Tennessee!! Posted: 11/6/2009 5:27:37 AM | OTD.........I am so sorry to hear about your troubles, girl. Gee, when it decided to go, it just WENT, huh?
Yes, it is a great thing that you have a job and credit card, but still always stinks when it messes with a budget. It seems no matter how much you plan for things to happen, they come at the most inappropriate times. Why couldn't it have happened at least during the summer where you could have invited us over to your new basement pool?!?! Sorry, just couldn't resist!
Glad to hear that you are getting it taken care of though.......have a great day, no matter how much wet red clay and hang tough! Nothing wrong with a little whining either!

I will be having a group of friends getting together November 6th to help me celebrate my 37th birthday. November 4th is my birthday, but figured I would wait until that Friday to celebrate. Here are the details if you are able to make it:
Cotton Eye Joe's Friday, November 6th, 2009 I will be getting there around 7 PM
Just bring yourself, and some other friends and let's make it a great night to mingle and celebrate life! I have never done a big bash like this and would love to have my friends around me this time! Bring a friend, a date, just whatever! Just come out to have a great night and relax!
The CEJ has designated the entire East Porch for us and we can move around from there. When you come in facing the DJ Booth (Big red truck for those that haven't been before), we will be sitting on the left of it where it looks like a, well, a PORCH! :-)
Let's show CEJ's what a jamming party is suppose to be and ROCK THAT PLACE!!!!
Hope to see you all there............

Posted: 11/6/2009 7:35:58 AM | Sounds like fun, Butterfly, but there is a singles dance the 1st Friday of ever month downtown Knoxville that I go to because I am on the committe that hosts. There are also other dances in Knoxville. They can be located at getdancenow dot com.
I was thinking the same thing about the swimming pool! But I always had figured blue tile rather than red mud.......even if red is one of my favorite colors!
happy birthday, Butterfly

Nothing wrong with the color red, if you ask me. Gotta admit, it would definately be different and would remind a lot of us of our local swimming holes.......
Ok, time to get off of here and get ready ......... Par-tay time in TN tonight!!!

| Tumbleweeds Blowing Through Tennessee!! Posted: 11/12/2009 2:22:51 PM | No tumbleweeds here but dog hair in the mop bucket, normally I'd have swept it up but there was a spill, you never see the hair till you mop. It's winter every few days with a slight chance of spring temperatures in between, so will it snow this year and will it wind up accumulating.
Anything fun for the weekend?
