Maybe I should get Lowe and co. to sponsor me on a season long field trip, lol

| Who had Stortini in their pool? Posted: 10/15/2009 6:41:34 PM | | Well, goaltending was the only reason last night's game was even close. Pretty easy to see how the Hawks scored 9 goals on a lesser keeper last year | |
| Who had Stortini in their pool? Posted: 10/17/2009 2:21:18 PM | | Another win. Nice to see secondary scoring. Shots against are still a concern though. Badly outshot agin last night... but scoring 5 goals on 19 shots is a prefect way to rectify that situation | |

| Smytty a Hollywood star Posted: 10/19/2009 8:09:49 PM | Anyone else amazed at the way Ryan Smyth is playing in LA? He's playing himself onto an Olympic team spot.
And another great goaltending performance from Khabibulin. 39 saves in a 2-1 win. Still think he's not an upgrade, Bit?

| Smytty a Hollywood star Posted: 10/19/2009 10:37:35 PM | Havent heard what smytty is doing thanks for the update have to agree on the performance tonight, only got to watch a little of the second, wasnt a bad game to watch but could have been better.... a win is a win and the wall's performance is proving to be stelar, was a little worried earlier in the year but seems to have hit his stride, except the penalty.....
RBG, how are the storm making out this year? My buddy sang the national anthem there last weekend. Our wolverines are doing awesome but not same league.....

| Go Oilers Go Posted: 10/20/2009 12:53:01 AM | Ahhh poor, poor oilers fans always living in the past.lol I do wish you the best this year. | |

Ahhh poor, poor oilers fans always living in the past.lol I do find that comment pretty funny, coming from a flames fan. Remind me again who got the loudest ovation in the pre-season in Calgary? Oh yeah... a 41-year-old wash-up who was trying to make a comeback
No longer... Smyth is third overall in league scoring right now. As for the Storm, you probably know that they won the AJHL crown last year. Struggling this year though. They just re-acquired their goalie form last year's run so maybe that will turn things around. The Canadian women's Olympic hockey team is here for a game tonight against the midget AAA boys team in a game that counts towards the standings for the boys, so that'll be a pretty unique game to see. Good thing the Oilers aren't on TV. No dilemma.

| Go Oilers Go Posted: 10/20/2009 5:19:28 PM | Just got back from a few weeks in Toronto. Sure glad we have Tambellini & Quinn over Burke & Wilson. Been quietly watching and observing this year. Who's this Penner kid? Sure not the same one MacT was coaching the last couple of years. Watching Penner use his size and Gagne ....... In a Fight??? Iremember saying in a post last year how suprised I was with the way Quinn was able to get the most out of the "Kids" at the World Juniors. Looking as though it may not have been a fluke. Must really roast MacT to watch and then have to comment on in his new role as "Observer with a mouth". I still question goaltending. "The Wall" is getting older and I still think he has inconsistencies within his game, but on the other hand, with the amount of pucks he's facing each game, I may have to change my tune before the year is out. Anything short of a playoff run this year will mean "Back to the Drawing Board"
!!!!! GO OIL GO !!!!!

| Go Oilers Go Posted: 10/21/2009 8:23:35 AM | Gagner has never been afraid to fight. He has had a good scrap every season he's been in the league - most memorably in Vancouver his first season. Seeing Penner succeed does my heart good. | |
| Go Oilers Go Posted: 10/21/2009 9:53:31 AM | That game against Vancouver may have been Penner's best game in an Oiler uniform and he didn't even get a point. He dominated. Amazing the difference from a year ago. I guess coming to camp in shape is a good idea after all! | |
| Go Oilers Go Posted: 10/22/2009 9:24:05 PM | !!!!! WOW !!!!!!
A new first line????
| |
| Go Oilers Go Posted: 10/22/2009 10:00:21 PM | Kind of had to shuffle things around because the flu is ravaging the team, but you gotta think Quinn will leave Penner, Hemsky and Gagner together at least until they give him a reason not to. 13 points between them tonight. What a game! And Penner helped me move from 5th to 2nd in my pool overnight! He and JP Dumont got me 10 points between them | |
| Go Oilers Go Posted: 10/24/2009 4:10:53 PM | Battle of Alberta in Cowtown tonight ...... should be a good one.
!!!!! GO OILERS GO !!!!!

| Go Oilers Go Posted: 10/24/2009 11:39:23 PM | They went,
but the wrong way!!
Good action when the teams were short handed, and hard to say who won the fights, but I think the Oilers had a few more sore hands for hitting the backs of Flame players helmets!
| Go Oilers Go Posted: 10/25/2009 10:26:34 PM | | Hopefully they get through that flu bug soon. Seemed to be quite a lack of energy tonight. Tough week ahead. Looks like Detroit might be the easiest game of the three... when was the last time you could say that? | |
| Go Oilers Go Posted: 10/27/2009 9:53:53 PM | OK the early-season shine has worn off. No goals in the last two games and outshot yet again (have they outshot the opponents in any game this season?) The solution is obvious. FIRE THE COACH!!!!!!!!! | |
| Go Oilers Go Posted: 10/27/2009 10:19:00 PM | Sure glad your not in charge of the justice system RBG !! | |
| Go Oilers Go Posted: 10/28/2009 9:04:58 PM | | COme on-give poor Quinn a break!!! | |
| Go Oilers Go Posted: 10/29/2009 6:07:19 AM | ^^^ Holy smokes... are you actually that bad at spotting sarcasm? The guy rolling on the floor should have given you at least some hint that I wasn't serious! It was a dig at all those who said the same thing about MacT, 10 games into every season he coached.
Relax people. I'm not that trigger-happy. If you look back at my postings, I have stated all along that I don't expect the Oilers to make the playoffs this year with the lineup they have. The only thing that has improved over last year is goaltending and it's a good thing, considering the shots on goal the team is giving up this year. There's no reason to fire the coach over it ... again.
| Go Oilers Go Posted: 10/29/2009 7:24:42 AM | aww RBG if only you knew DDD...he never utters a serious word, he just pokin fun like he always does. Some people have no bias about whom they poke fun at but being from Calgary and a Flames fan...I don't seem to have a problem with him doing it ether JK don't get Flames / Oilers it's all Alberta right...think I better leave now | |
| Go Oilers Go Posted: 10/29/2009 8:50:41 AM | thanks liferawks , i was just returning the comment to rbg after he said much the same thing to me in a different thread , he just needs to lighten up and all will be fine!! | |
| Go Oilers Go Posted: 10/29/2009 2:50:02 PM | you flamers should maybe just try not hijacking Oiler threads... leave the hockey talk to hockey fans | |
| Go Oilers Go Posted: 10/29/2009 10:15:54 PM | Are only Oiler fans hockey fans??? | |
| Go Oilers Go Posted: 10/30/2009 6:30:35 AM | Hey flame fans are always welcome here, or anywhere else, someone has to clean the dishes and fetch the beer ( Kokanee Gold or Keiths draft preferred, btw) and thats as far as I plan to take the teasing. As for the Detroit game last night with the nice big safe elad we had... WTF?!?! Just goes to show, never never never count out Detroit. I hate them as a team, but I respect them as teh standard for the league, on ice or off. Good thing is I did actually get a chance to sit down and watch a victory... skin of thier teeth, but it goes in the W column | |
| Go Oilers Go Posted: 10/30/2009 8:28:33 AM | At least we didn't completely gas it, like the way Calgary did with their 5-0 lead over Chicago | |
