mzincognito,

I’ve favorited you because I want the pleasure of being able to re-read your profile again and again at my leisure.

You sound like an incredible person and I wish we lived closer because I would like to become your best friend. What a captivating personality you have. Just incredible.

You are lovely and have wonderful photos – no changes.

Couple of things though. Why do you repeat your header (basically) in the profession section as opposed to stating what you do for a living? This is one of the main pet peeves I hear people talking about, either folks being coy or deliberately omitting this section.

Next, your opening line in the ‘about me’ section.
So, just got back to good ole PEI. I lasted in Calgary for six months, eleven days. My time there was a great learning experience, not the least of which was M, whom I left out there. Tears shed over that, but now it's time to move forward, not look back, no ifs, ands, buts or whys.

It is the only part of this section that I couldn’t understand and don’t know if it’s a cultural thing or what but it just doesn’t make sense. If it’s an inside joke, then remember, no one else will get it either and you may lose their interest at the onset because they feel they ‘just don’t get you’.

Otherwise, beautiful job of illustrating just ‘who’ you are. Well done.

Good Luck!

Hi Happynature

I've read your profile and you've got me swooning. Shame I'm married and on the other side of the pond. You've got a beautiful set of teeth too.

Anyway, I need your help. I'm a married guy just wanting to chat with members of the opposite sex while I'm studying (I know I should be getting my work done) you know how it is?

Well, I've had only 3 or 4 mails since joining POF. I'm not a regular on here but I would've expected someone I like to have popped up by now, especially when I see some of the nerdy, well obese, spotty, and often down right obnoxious guys pulling 100+ on their favourites list. I sound a bit nasty about it don't I? But I don't mean to be, I'm just bloody envious ;)

Would you please, please, please have a look at my profile and tell me where I'm going mega wrong. I know I'm no oil painting but I only want to chat not kiss.

Please help me...?

Best wishes and thanks (in anticipation).

Happynature,

Thanks for your input in to my profile. You made some very nice comments which, I have to say, literally made me blush.

I've taken your constructive criticisms under consideration and next time you read my profile, you'll see that I made appropriate changes.

The opening line in the "about me" section was inserted to let people know that I was back on the fishing scene after meeting someone on POF. I spent the noted time in Calgary with him but had to come home because of who I am. But I can understand how it might confuse people. It's gone.

You sound like a lovely person yourself. Feel free to drop by my profile at any time; I do change/add to it as my world goes on.

Take care. Hugs,

bboy1234,

No critical eye needed. I love your profile. Love everything except your omission of actual occupation.

Good Luck!

Thanks so much for the repore. Took another crack at the profile and it came out alright. I guess. Not the easiest thing for me to write about me. Some guy's find it easy but I suspect they are probably shoveling it on. Next up is yet another self portrait. That will be fun. Thanks again.

Quite welcome. Like some of the changes already.

myeman,

You have a lovely face, your photos are really great, you are brilliant, obviously and you wrote a terrific piece about yourself. But…yeah, you knew there would be a but.

Like you’ve already acknowledged, your profile is too long. You are revealing WAY too much about yourself. Need to keep some of this for the first couple of e-mails or phone calls.

Mention enough about the racing to entice them to ask more. Take each topic and shave it a bit.

As for not getting any hits…shame on the lassies in Dublin. You are quite the catch. All I can tell you is my standard response. Send out 10 e-mails to 10 different women right now. Then tomorrow, ten more.

You’re bound to start getting responses if you keep this up.

Good Luck!

Happynature,
Thanks. I guess it just grew and grew, but you're right it is time to create the Cliff Notes version.
BTW, you're doing great work. It's people like you that make this place worthwhile.
Thanks again,

redheadotcom,

You are such a beautiful woman. Why only ONE photo that showcases you properly? I suggest you remove every photo except for your primary. You have two with a bunch of other women and I have no clue which is you, and they are all blurry. Please have one of those friends take a couple of new photos of you in action.

I believe you to be bright, witty and fun but you don’t show us who YOU truly are. In your preference settings, you’ve already acknowledged that you have children. No need to repeat it in the very minimum amount of information you share about yourself in the ‘about me’ section.

If you actually talk about yourself – the woman- and give us the opportunity to learn more about you then a quote or two is fine. But a repeat of information and a quote is NOT a description of who you are. That’s a cop-out. Sorry.

Please take a few minutes to put some more thought into this and share. Share with us just exactly who you are. Two rich, FULL paragraphs - minimum and then you can throw in your (lovely) quote.

Good Luck!

Happynature, thank you.

I will get to work on the profile update....and get back to you.

The quote is by Bob Dylan, who's real name is Robert Zimmerman. I threw that in because I'm a big Dylan fan and wanted to hear back from other Dylan fans. I'll try to use it in different way.

cosmic_dancer,

The words you wrote in your profile were very interesting. My only comments are relative to your photos and profession – which you’ve left blank. Ugh! Please put your occupation there.

As for your pictures - it looks like they were taken the same day with just a change of clothes. Not much difference in the poses or what you look like which means it doesn’t show much about your personality.

Please get once good close up of your face, shining eyes and bright smile. Then get a full body shot and move your arms or give us a different facial expression. Try to show us some diversity, ok?

Good Luck!

andy w,

I really like your profile and don't think you need to do anything other than capitalize the personal pronoun I.

Great photos of a nice smile on a handsome face. How about a body shot?

Good Luck!

shyguykinda1,

I am offended by your profile and would consider it a waste of time for any girl who is seriously looking for a real relationship to even bother reading it. I'm offended because I just wasted 3 minutes of MY time.

vicindelrio,

Close up photo is nice, but you need more than one photo. You know I’m going to suggest a body shot, right?

Not a big fan of separated people looking for love before the divorce is final, because I truly believe that you have a LOT of unfinished business to take care of, emotionally, mentally and literally before you are truly available to open your heart to another individual.

Most women I know feel the same way so if you aren’t getting much action, I would gander to say that this is the primary reason.

But…even having said that, your profile is in need of some work. It’s hard to follow what exactly you are trying to achieve because it seems quite random…for an intelligent guy.

JMHO

fiftyseven,

You need NO help. That was truly one of the most enlightening profiles I have ever read.

Fabulous, Fabulous, FABULOUS
*Header
*Photos (very cute)
*Interests
*About me

Without a doubt...THE most interesting 'about me' I've ever read. Well done.

While not needed...Good Luck!

Hi Happynature ,
thank you for taking the time to review my profile, i have added the capital I's where required.
I am not 100% happy with my photo's and you're absolutely right, a few body pics wouldn't go amiss, something i will be looking to add maybe this weekend
thanks again

Happynature,

Thank you so much. That makes me feel good.

To be honest, I usually don't care what people think of me, but I could tell by your posts that you are someone whose opinion I value.

So, thanks again. You already know this but you have one hell of a profile. :)
