Say it ain't so,Joe! A second Ace up their sleeve. That's like playing chess with the Brew Crew and proclaiming,CHECKMATE! Could've been 8 All-Stars. There is life after Prior and Wood(as an oft-injured starter)afterall. A windy city World Series?

You still can't get enough I see....

Are you related to guy name fishernick? You know Crazy's brother?

Red Sox are only 4 games behind, so not really worried at this moment. I read up that Big Papi took some swings during batting practice Monday and even slammed 6 balls out of Fenway. I guest we will be seeing him soon....

Wiz, I really wanted to be a guest at that picnic table burning...I know how much angst it caused you! Why wasn't I invited??

Anyway, I'm not worried about the Sox right now either...but those Rays are having a phenomenal year....A-Rod is causing enough grief for the entire Yankee organization! Hail Kabbalah! LOL

I read that about Papi too and hope he is back soon...howevah, the team should not be relying on the efforts of a few players year or the Sox will be in the spot the Rays were in last year...and Wiz, you know how much I love my Sox, so you know those were very difficult words for me to spill out!

You never got the invitation? Well, the door is always open, so no need to call.

And, back to This Week In Baseball!!!

What scares me the most JmB is that the Rays have been playing their exorcised butts off,day in day out.Every game, every inning, every out and every pitch. Blood,Sweat and
But,the BoSox seem to do it so effortlessly. All this without Schilling,a sub-par Manny, over a month without Big Papi and a few weeks sans Dice K. Yet,they're only three games out now!

To be honest with you Oscar, we could've had 10 All-Stars this season if you include Harden (when healthy), DeRosa & Marmol...but the 7 guys that are going are all well-deserved candidiates....somethin tells me it will be Cubs/Red Sox in October LOL

This is the 1st time in a loooooooooooooong time that the Cubs have not relied on Prior & Wood in their rotation...and it's turned out to be gold as they are just 1.5 games behind the D-Rays for baseball's best record.

First off,I can't believe neither one of us even mentioned D.Lee for the All-Star game! (shame on us) N.L. first baseman could have the best players to a man at that position in all of baseball. But,what's even more unbelivable is what you said, that STILL doesn't sound right (although a sweet sound,nonetheless)..."behind the Rays (minus the D) for baseball's best record". Shout it from the rooftops, while it lasts.
Could be Cubs/BoSox come Oct.

Perfect time to bring back the continuing “Good, Bad and Ugly” theme.

GOOD

Brewers get Sabathia, Cubs counter to get both Hardin and Gaudin.
Webb wins league leading number 13.
The All -Star break is just around the corner.
Brewers & Reds sweep

BAD

Treanor, Church (again), Jenks, Tomko, Dukes, Loewen, Hurly, Elarton, Suppan, Miller, Hopper, Gordon Crosby, Helton and Damon to the DL. (I may have even missed a few.)

Pirates & Nationals swept

UGLY

A-Rod.

As the baseball turns I have read or watched so many different twists and reports on this fiasco in just 2 days.

C-Rod claims the last straw was the Madonna rumors though she admits that she doesn’t think they had a sexual affair. Reports are that A-Rod has visited the NYC apartment of Madonna and may have even paid a visit there when he returned to NY after the birth of his daughter in April. A-Rod and Madonna share the same agent and there have been reports that he has shown interest in studying Kabbalah.

Reports and tabloids claim that A-Rod has had an ongoing fling with a blonde stripper named Joslyn Morse and they have been sharing hotel rooms all over North America.

Some are pointing hypocritical fingers at C-Rod. Depending on the source she is either leaving A-Rod for Lenny Kravitz or A-Rod’s former trainer Dodd Romero.

Depending on the source.....

A-Rod suggested she go to France to get away from the American media once the divorce filing was made public. Kravitz offered his France home since he would be on tour.
She went to France to be with Kravitz.
She is staying at the France home of Kravitz but she is there with Romero.
She is there with Kravitz & Romero, but also Romero’s wife and children.

Madonna and Ritchie claim they are not headed for divorce and she denies any romantic involvement. Kravitz denies an affair, he also denied one with Madonna a few years back.

So far it isn’t a he said/she said, it’s a she said,/they said and he says nothing and the press is just spinning anything they can. Just when you thought the Brinkley/Cook divorce was the big spectacle.

RIGHT ON about the Mets suck.If you go back to Sept. 17th 2007 The Mets were 7 games up and blew the lead. Phillies did win division. We are still in first. I like this friendly trash talk. I doubt the Phils. will improve their pitching because the owners won't go over the budget to win World Series, they just want to be competitive.

Seems the only info you broadcast is the 7 games up. we heard you the first time. Wiz agrees with anything against New York. He is still in denial that his amazing Patriots lost the Superbowl to a New York Team.

As to this season and last season ending the way it did for the Mets. I agree they are not playing as they should. But..... Big butt. Its still early. And what was the icing on my cake this week was the Mets swept Philly! So it seems the wheels could be changing.

So I see there could be an interest of the Wiz and J me baby. Well maybe in the land of OZ.

Seems the Mets won 4 in a row and the Phillies lost 4 in a row. hmmmm who is sucking what now Yes who?

Mets are now only a game and a half out.

Besides Crazy, the only people on this thread that know anything about baseball, are two woman. It's time to get an edumacation fellows!!! I saw that some socer fan also likes(the)B.J's. And,the Liberty Bell isn't the only thing that's cracked in Philly!
Is it taboo to start a new thread outside of This Week In Baseball? Personally,it doesn't appear to be necessary. What needs to be discussed that's so impotent, that it can't be said here? CC Sabathia goes to the Brew Crew?
I'd rather stay here and talk euro trash about A-Rod's questionable dating decisions.Perhaps he should come on No! Sorry,A-Rod.

A-Rod is not getting any bonus for his All-Star status after the Yankees took over his humongous contract. It's funny that hundreds of thousand are not missed when you are that filthy rich.

Any Blue Jay fan here? 43-47, too bad the Jays are not going to be on .500 where Gaston was hoping they would be at All-Star time. AJ Burnett seems headed for the Cubs. Alex Rios did not make it to the All-Star this year. With his gaffe at base running Sunday, being doubled off, it's understandable.

Nice win for the Phillies.

My boy Josh got his first walk off homer tonight to beat the Angels.

Geez, I guess I need to get a boyfriend and a life, maybe after the All-Star game.

Gotta go watch the rest of Baseball Tonight and vote some more for Longoria.

We'll gladly take Burnett if you guys want Marquis in return LOL.

Man Zambrano was so awesome tonight, if it wasn't for Adam's Dunn 2nd inning homer he was actually in line for a perfect game with no walks & 5 strikeouts.

Ben Sheets got outpitched tonight by Glendon Rusch of all people...and Milwaukee's bullpen is still terrible (anyone heard from Eric Gagne lately?).

Sabathia can't pitch every day, so i feel that we still have the upper hand in the NL Central.

Ted Lilly hopefully joins Carlos Zambrano & Ryan Dempster on the 10-win club with a victory tomorrow against the Reds...Rich Harden to make his Cub debut on Saturday against the Giants.

Chad Gaudin warmed up tonight during the bottom of the 8th inning but never got into the game.

Hmm, I know he is the most disliked Cub but considering that he is earning only $6.375mil vs AJ's more than double salary at $13.200mil (and hey, he's even younger by 2 years), at 6-5 vs 8-8 for AJ, I'll take him!

Ok, even the ERA speaks loud. 4.78 for Marquis against 5.23 for AJ who basically had said goodbye to his Jays fans with his pronouncement a few weeks ago. What's not to like?

Take for instance, Wednesday game. The batters were hot and the Jays were leading 8-1 and Burnett, in his generous self gave up 6 runs. He is lucky he still got the win over the Orioles. He has written his out ticket and I will take almost anyone in return. The Jays have acknowledged that this year is already a write off anyway.

Tell you what? How about taking JP Ricciardi off our hands, as well?

It is going to be a great penant race this season. The Phillies Mets and Marlins. All 3 teams have flaws. The race may come down to who makes the best moves at the trade deadline. The phils are playing their worst ball so fae,but they will come around. The Mets are playing good now.

"Basebol bin bery, bery good to me".~Chico Esquela

WOW!!! This is turning out to be one friggin' fascinating season. It's living la vida loca!
Three divisions (NL & AL East and AL Central) should come down to a three team race the rest of the year.$$$.That's if the Rays could hang with the big boys. And,you're right about the NYY,sunset.
I'm not sure if the Brew Crew will make it to the end.

The NL West? You know what? The fact that it's so open,it could be anyone's game except S.D. So,that makes it a FOUR team race.
The AL West? You would think the Angels and the A's as usual. But,the A's are imploding.I say the Angels and the Rangers(that's right folks, don't touch that dial)will duke it out.The Rangers have four All-Stars,Josh Hamilton(MVP)Ian Kinsler(leads in batting, runs and hits!!??)Milton Bradley(Kaboom!)and Mike Young(always has 200 hits)Plus, they have a rookie named David Murphy who would be getting the ROY nod if it wasn't for Evan Langoria.
Just for fun, how about a Col.Rockies/Tex.Rangers Super Bowl,...uh,...I mean World Series. There's a potential there to outscore the Broncos/Cowboyz!
Peace

Wow I am really impressed that the Boston Red Sox has 7 players picked to participate in the all star game and also the Cubs have their own 7 too!

Very interesting. But unfortunitly I have no interest in watching it.

Well any way I am as happy as a pig in shite Mets won six straight

LANGORIA WINS BY A LANDSLIDE!!!
The Mets are 14-9 since Manuel took over.Even though it's mediocre,it's still enough to rule the East!!!
T.B. might have lost their slipper to the ball. There might not be a Cinderella this year! The BoSox are her evil step-sisters.They started to make their move down the 1/4 without having to use the whip!
Ryan Howard leads the Majors with 27 HRs and his 83 RBI are only SIX behind Josh Hamilton for the MLB lead,...
... but he's not an All-Star???

He is not an all star becauxe he got hot to late. April and May he was hittng under 200, but when he hit with runners on base he came through. He got to late for him to be voted in. Last 3 weeks he got hot.He now has 28 homers and 84 rbis, and people are saying he is haveing a bad year so far. He always gets hot in July till yhe end of year So N.L. east watch out.
