Anyone up for a Dublin Event?

Hi Tank Girl,
I've organised 3 events in Dublin so far - last Dec (07), Feb and May this year for the over-40s. Turn out was good the first time, with less coming to the others so I've retired for the time being. They were over40 events as most of us like to be able to find each other fast, be able to sit, and not be bombarded by loud music. Anyway, if you want to do it, here's a few hints from my experience.

A pub is a good place to meet because you can all move around, sit in different seats, get to talk to different people, groups and so on

I discovered it makes life easier for everyone if there are a couple of ways to find the right group:
-so a packet of biscuits on the table made it easy
-also tell the barstaff that there's a website meeting going on over there (most people don't want to come right out and say a singles' website or Plenty of Fish)
-sadly, unlike the ad, many men tend to come on their own while women often but not always bring a friend.
-lastly, while not everyone who signed up will come, people who haven't signed up will come!

And for anyone who does go to a do, it's all very friendly: you'll be introduced to people and people will mix around and talk. Most people having been nervous the first time, will end up making good friends at these events.

Enjoy Dunboyne if you're going! Only found out about it 2 minutes ago

Nope, lets not eh?

Everyone who attends can take photos, members can print their own labels or make their own if they wish to make one.

There is no need for 10 co-hosts.

Just one host & one co-host in case of emergency and the host cannot make it.

There are no official photographers, greeters, etc

On the night the Host is just A N Other Member

Easy no fuss no bother.
