Posted: 5/2/2009 11:15:26 AM | | Hello, I am a 24 year single mom of a 4 year old. So i am in kind of the same boat as you are. But i believe if your meeting a guy for the first time, i dont think you should have to tell him unless he asks you. If you plan on going out on a second date then yes let him know. I believe if a man stops liking you because you tell him you have a child then it isn't worth it, so sometimes telling him upfront is better. Some men dont want to waste there time with a single mom they just want fun. So my advice to you when you meet a guy tell him he needs to know that is if your looking for a serious relationship if your looking for alittle fun the dont its as simple as that..... You'll find your man just like someday i will have faith and dont look for it let it come to you... I know it might be a long wait but when you go looking thats where you meet the wrong guys.. | |

Really though one should be upfront and honest about that. Before emotions get invovled, the other person has the right to know who and what they are dealing with. Treat that person with the same respect that you would want shown to you. | |

I think you should tell tell straight up as a relationship is built on trust and if they are not interested in you because of your child/ren ift will never work out anyway so why waste you time. | |

Besides not everyone HATES kids, other wise there wouldnt be any of them running around. | |

Posted: 5/21/2009 5:13:19 PM | within the first five minutes. that's important info and that should be taken into account when enter any type of relationship. now if it get serious the "when" to meet the kids is up to you. i've found it best that you don't bring kids into the mix until you are sure you want to deal with them. a revolving door is not good for them and if it doesn't work the kid will blame themselves or make it difficult for you to date.
that's just my two cents
