| Is Monogamy Really Incompatible with Biology? Posted: 2/25/2012 4:36:06 AM | Yes, we hear it all, don't we? Communication is the key to a successful relationship. Shared values are the key to a successful relationship. Shared experiences are the key to a successful relationship. Faith in God is the key to a successful relationship. Opposites attract. The list goes on and on.
But, most people first marry for one of three reasons. One: they find the other person physically attractive. Two: they want to get out of their parents household. Three: pregnancy.
And, the truth is, at least as far as science can determine, the best indicator of a successful relationship is a similar I.Q. between the two partners.
Yeah, that's right. It's not communication. It's not religious faith. It's not doing things together. It's not opposites attract or birds of a feather stick together. It's about having the same reasoning skills. | |
