Posted: 7/15/2008 10:15:34 AM | Never thought I'd be writing this here, since POF was the least favorite of my dating sites because it's free and I figured it attracted less serious people for that reason.
In my case, after more than 18 months of pretty much zilch on POF, at least two normal people found my profile interesting, and we got in touch. I had a great chemistry with the second one (made evident after 18 months of dating and knowing what is good/bad chemistry). We have become exclusive and are incredibly happy. I will spare the details about how happy we are because it tends to make people nauseous when I tell them. 
I still say that the pay sites gave me higher numbers of matches who "on paper" were better. Regardless, all of the people I chose to meet were upstanding individuals - you have to separate the wheat from the chaff on all dating sites. POF probably has a higher ratio of chaff to wheat because it's free. But, I think it's worth it to try POF, since it's yet another avenue to find someone. We spend energy and effort to find ourselves good jobs, get a better education, etc., so why not do the same to find a good partner. | |

You just have to be yourself and make sure you post some pictures.

I think it works for those who want it to work. If that makes sense, if you do your profile good and your honest and actually put effort into it then yes it does. I found the man I have been looking for all along. He is the greatest guy I have been with. Those who don't put much into thier profile and don't really even want to put any effort into it then it won't work. | |

Posted: 7/15/2008 12:47:27 PM | To those that say it doesnt work. It hasnt wored for you and hasnt worked for me..........YET.............that doesnt mean it isnt working.
I could have said months ago that it works, but then I would have been "settling" and been unfair not only to myself but to them.. Not that they werent decent people, we were just not right for each other.
If people dont respond to your messages then all that means is they werent right for you. If it takes contacing 1 or 10001 till you make a connection, all that means is the first 1000 were waiting for their special one after maybe making contact with 2001.
When and if it happens, it will feel right and you will know it. Till then live the fullest life that you can.

If you put in the effort and listen, maybe change a little to0. It will work. I have meet some really lovely people, particularly one at the latest functions that Pof have put up. Don't hurry, let things take their time, be caring and patient.  | |
