| Women: Would you date a guy that is shorter than you are,,,, Why/Why Not? Posted: 5/27/2005 4:17:01 PM | I'm 5'7" ish. Taller in heels..um err never mind. Weigh under 170lbs now. Getting into better shape.
I know its preference and genetic programing, but sheesh it can be a bit discouraging at times. Especially when you see an ad for a womn that is 5'2" who wants a 5'10+. With 3 inch heels she would be close to my height but its still not enough for her.
Yes personality counts, but as I've often said, there has to be that initial attraction(You cant tell about personality from across the room unless its lampshade on the head time)
I know that being shorter, I need to dress well, great hygene, great personality etc etc. Its all advertising.

I dated someone that was 5'6" and i'm 5'7" barefoot.. i wear those shoes with heals most of the time so i'm 5'9" or 5"10" it was kind of awkward to bend down because you're so used to looking up but... such is life..you are still a person wether you are 'short' or "tall". Why pass up someone that is shorter if they are a total genuine sweetheart? Now that would be stupid.
As long as the parts meet and fit man! ... doh lol

I am 5'3..dated a guy who was 5'4...felt so weird, i like wearing a bit of a heel and it was just strange being taller than him. I think my perfect range is 5'8-5'11..just a preference.

Posted: 5/28/2005 8:34:15 PM | Mine is the same way Chantilly..and thank goodness for the kids telling me the stuff he says to remind me of why i left him in the first place..sometimes when you don't live with him anymore you can tend to forget that bad stuff..but one conversation with the kids after a weekend at dad's and I remember it all.....lol
But all the hockey parents are great...without them I would have no social life either. And tonight is proof..no hockey, kids at dad's..and I am at home on the computer..couldn't even find anyone to go out with...Now I am depressing myself!!

| Women: Would you date a guy that is shorter than you are,,,, Why/Why Not? Posted: 5/29/2005 6:50:27 AM | | my ex lives in Trenton so he refuses to take his child to his hockey games in Kingston. It's too much trouble. He won't take him to his hockey tournaments when the tournament falls on his weekend because its too much trouble. He's got my son convinced that it interferes with their quality time together????? I don't quite understand the logic because its not like i'm taking him he is. But I will be there and heaven forbid should I get to see or speak to my kids on "his time". But on the bright side he is posted back to Edmonton this summer and next hockey season my son will get to attend every hockey game, every hockey practice and every tournement and he won't have to sit there and be emotionally torn between his father and his love for hockey. | |

| Women: Would you date a guy that is shorter than you are,,,, Why/Why Not? Posted: 5/29/2005 7:06:52 AM | | Darcy I hear yah! My ex is /has been living with the woman he met on the court/CAS ordered Anger management course he had to take in order to be able to have visits iwth our kids unsupervised. They completed their course in April of 2001 and were living together by August 2001, and are still together, good for them fill your boots. I've lost a babysitter because of her, she would constantly call there and cause havoc, babysitter finally said your kids are wonderfull but i can't take her or him anymore. My kids have told me that her 26 year old son bit my then 7 year old daughter because she wouldn't give him the remote and Dad did absolutely frig all about it.... idiot. Lucky for the moronic son he was moved out of the house and to Alberta by the time i found out because I was going to press charges on his sorry a$$. I was in a relationship iwth this guy for 6 months we were discussing moving in together, kids tell dad, kids tell dad because they are happy to share good news with dad, dad starts causing trouble. Kids come home say Dad said this and that about "Dan" is it true that "Dan" did that? lies and lies and this guy wanted me to take my ex to court to make him stop.. well don't work that way .... not that easy, you can have all the court orders in the world and he can still break the rules. So he left, couldn't take the BS of my ex and the fighting we were going through because of my ex. So then the ex tells the kids see i told you he was a jerk he's gone. Very ugly person on the inside, outside he's not too hard to look at if you haven't met the inside part first. | |

| Women: Would you date a guy that is shorter than you are,,,, Why/Why Not? Posted: 6/3/2005 5:40:21 AM | Hey ... My answer is ABSOLUTELY !!! I am 5'10 and if I were to just say that I don't want to date men shorter than I am ... that could be 50% of men out there. It's hard enough trying to find someone you click with .... not going to descriminate someone based on their height.
Cheers,
Fair Lady | |

| Women: Would you date a guy that is shorter than you are,,,, Why/Why Not? Posted: 6/4/2005 6:59:57 AM | I'm 5'11 and prefer someone taller. I'm also considered Dominant and Well....I thought about being a switch, but the guy I tried to switch with was 5'6 and it didn't work very well...I jus couldn't get over the size differance. I couldn't see myself submitting to a guy shorter then myself. The size comes in handy I tell you when I'm dominating a short guy | |

| Women: Would you date a guy that is shorter than you are,,,, Why/Why Not? Posted: 6/11/2005 8:18:25 AM | Who said anything about it making you a better or worse person?
It is a matter of personal preference.
I am tall 6'0" and have dated women from 4'11" to 6' 2"
My preference is for relatively tall women (5'10" +) but my last really serious relationship was with a 5'5" blonde. It is only a part of the whole package......but physical characteristics are a very real part of attraction. Not all....but to be ignored at your peril.

| Women: Would you date a guy that is shorter than you are,,,, Why/Why Not? Posted: 6/11/2005 8:38:12 AM | | Well - although my preference is taller than me.. lately.. I seem to be dating only shorter.. these men - not all - lie about their height on this site and when I meet them.. I expect 6'0 if you say you are 6'0 tall. Now I am but a mere (LOL) 5'7.5 (LOL) so I know that 6'0 tall is.. This is a whole other thread which I believe has been discussed thoroughly and it is time to drop the dead donkey... but the question is would I? Lately.. I have had 'no' choice LOL.. | |

Posted: 5/21/2006 7:40:20 PM | its funny the double standards...its ok for women to say they want a tall man... but if a man dares say he wants a thin women..he is jumped all over..and called shallow..or a jerk.. if the guys posted something like"would you date a woman overweight..he would be strung up.
