Heeeeeeeeeeeeeee'sssssssssss back Wow and I thought his retirement was real this time. Will this go on for another season? Well should be an interesting season. Soap opera players this year starting with Farve Vikings, TO Bills, Vick Eagles, Shady Brady rides again with the Pats, Romo and the Cowgirls, Cutler's Bears, Brees Saints could be the year!

*in the key of f

You put retirement in...

You put retirement out...

You put retirement in...

And you shake it all about...

You do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around

that's what Favre's all about..

(*totally disgusted by his antics, but still dang excited he's going to actually help our offense...)

I heard some good points on sports talk today. I am in agreement. I think this whole thing was planned. It is pretty obvious Favre didnt want to go to training camp. I think its a little too conveniant that he is minny today at training camp, signs a contract, and is named the started this week for the preseason game.....

I still want someone to dispute my argument that there is no difference between Terrel owens and Brett Favre, well, there is one difference....Owens will tell you to your face that he is all about himself, and he wants all the attention.....Favre doesnt say it to your face, but his actions sure prove it....

Favre holds another record for changing his mind. He's unretired and back on the practice field Effective until he retires again.

That's funny....Did you get that on Youtube news?

when they are off the field they are eerily similar...

but when they are on the field, I have to give Favre a leg up; he is all about helping his team win; Terrel was all about helping Terrel get Terrel on the highlights with the team a WAY distant second... plus Terrel was a pouter when he wasn't the featured receiver. At least Favre can't be accused of pouting. (just about everything else the last few years, maybe; but not pouting)

Then decides he wants to beat them again (two times) and comes out of retirement. Now that would be retiring in class.

My prediction is Favre retires after he plays the Packers two times in regular season. That would be week 9

Hey y'all, I just got this quotation from Adrian Peterson.

"Has anyone seen my ball? Where is my ball? Wait, Damn it, there it goes the other way. Damn it Brett, will you stop throwing my ball away to the other team."

Watch Favre goes to Green bay again next year that would be funny.

But no one takes Favre's so called retirements seriously anymore not after he said he was done twice and then came back for each season. If he would have left the NFL the first time and said "but never say never" to a return it would have looked a lot better for him and his image. At least if he would have said that then it would have looked like he was leaving a door open to a possible one last run in the future depending upon how he felt , instead of toying with people and franchises from year to year by saying "I’m done." like as if he was saying i'm done for good.

I read a great column today written by a Milwaukee Journal columnist where he said about "Brett FARCE", "The EGO has landed!"

I guess 'ole Brett is now like Roger Clemens was! What a way to tarnish your reputation!

farve didnt cheat, clemens did, i fail to see the campirson. when its said and done farve will hold most all of the qb records( unless manning breaks them). longtime from now people most likely wont remember this ordeal. most people dont think of montana as a cheif, they remember him as a 49er.if the guy wants to play, then play. b esides its his reputation, he can do what he wants with it. again i fail to c the campiorson beteween him and clemens.

You're joking right?

How many times did Clemens "unretire" to go back with either the Yankees or Astros? Demand to only play half a season? Demand his own private jet? Be treated like a king?

And you don't see the comparison?

This has nothing to do with taking steroids! But it has everything to do with acting like a first class prima dona!

Brett Favre is proving just how selfish he is. And Clemens did the same!

my fault, i forgot about that, your are right in that sense. but let me ask u something, if u could say to your boss, this is what i want and he would give it to you, wouldnt you do it? i agree its not fair to the rest of the team, but i would do it if i could.

Yes ultimately it is the team's fault for catering to this guy's every whim. And obviously the Vikings are the suckers this time because their current QB situation is pretty bad so they feel like making a deal with the devil is better than the alternative.

The sad part is the fans ultimately pay the price both literally and figuratively with higher ticket prices and disillusionment about the star players who behave so selfishly.

To answer your question, yes I think the average person would always try to get the best deal they could from their boss. But that is not really the case here. These guys are just acting like this to stroke their overly inflated egos.

I mean just look at the reaction of Jets RB Thomas Jones after last season. It really looked like Favre wore out his welcome there in New York with his own players in a hurry.

I have a hunch something similar will probably happen in Minnesota too.

the vikes are better with favre, iam not saying there going to the superbowl, but they have a better chance of doing something with him. it will come down to how they do, the team loved farve during the first 8 weeks, then not so much the last 8 weeks, look at there record during those 2 differnt 8 weeks pieords, if the jets would have finished strong they would have loved him, but they didnt, so they didnt. only time will tell how the vikes deal with him, if they win they will love if they dont , they wont!!

It's all about the owners wanting to put their team in the best position to win a Superbowl at that time. We see that all the time in sports. I mean, look at the Eagles signing Vick for example. Owners will look the other way at a players history pretty much regardless of what it was if that player can give their team a chance "now". The problem with a guy like Favre is that you don't know what you are going to get from season to season especially now with his age. Is he going to be the championship contender Favre that looked real good like he did in 07 or the inconsistent Favre that had a meltdown like he did in 08?

Being a lifelong Vikings fan,

I think this is literally being done TO keep the team. The Twins are almost done with their stadium, the Gophers are almost done with their stadium, Minnesotans, even though the Vikings are THE team, are beyond fed up with being made to pay more for professional teams where players do what, ironically, people like favre are doing, with the owners holding the city hostage.

If the Vikes don't get a stadium deal done in time, they're gone (probably to LA).

And Childress is on his last leg as a coach; as our window is closing. So the reason they are trying so hard to get Favre, even with his antics, is because that will put fans in the seats, will get national exposure to the Vikes which has been sorely lacking since Moss left, and most needed, get some passion in the locker room and hope in the fan base; and some Ws which they've forgotten how to do regularly, with such a huge gaping hole at qb.

He is a lightning rod that right now, is as positive as he is negative; and they need SOMETHING; because their window is closing and we could lose them altogether.

So as a fan, wanting to see us actually not underperform, barely scrape into (or miss altogether) the playoffs, and lose the team altogether, I willbe happy to allow a future hall of famer who was a huge rival a chance to stick it to his former team without too many complaints, as long as his play on the field is even half as strong as his circus acts off of it. We need the help desperately; and I'd rather have him than Vick...

this fans opinion anyways.. (how strange is it to have a Monday night football game be totally anticipated instead of a "who the heck cares" which it's been the last few years...)

Now let him earn his money and warrant the circus, and I'll be happy. Hopefully he doesn't retire again before the season starts.

As a lifelong Rams fan (Yeah I know we suck right now and have the worst QB in the league in Marc "Please SACK my sorry A$$ now" Bulger ), I am reminded of the futile 1977 season.

Guess who the Rams signed that season?

Yeah, Joe Willie Namath! Broadway Joe!

He had to have a last hurrah too! Of course it didn't turn out too well! And luckily, Joe will only be remembered for trying to kiss Suzy Kolber and not for playing for the Rams!

Anyways, yes I agree it will be great drama for the NFL because Brett is back. Especially those Packer/Vikes games!

But for me personally, it is sad to see a great player end his career like this. And it is not even the unretiring that bugs me so much. It is just the way Brett has gone about it in such an on again, off again, playing hard to get way.

Yeah Brett will no doubt go down as one of the greatest QBs of all time and deservedly so. But don't forget he also has thrown the most INTs of any QB too!

Long live KURT WARNER!!!

True that...

I don't think it was just avoiding training camp that made Brett wait and sign until after the first preseason game showed the vikes going without a hitch without him.

It won't be resting solely on his shoulders.

Look at who he has around him; mind you a huge hole at center with the loss of Birk but otherwise a pretty decent o-line, good defense, improving special teams and one of the best backs in the last decade (with a way underrated #2 in Taylor) to keep zone and man defenses honest; so it is not all on Favre; plus the offense he's learning here is way more comfortable than what he learned at the Jets...

So whether he's 50%, 60% or 80% what he was, he still is an improvement over what we had because now defenses can't key; they have to take him into account; and with our running game he makes us dangerous; even with the interceptions (unless, of course, he retires again; which if he does that after we've gotten rid of our fourth qb all bets are off and I will be front in line with the dang flaming pitchfork...)

(And Warner was awesome. He's another archaic one who still kept winning against people's better judgment... MAN that guy could throw...)
