It's what's known as biased towards a lesser club.

| UEFA Champions League 07/08 Posted: 4/11/2008 8:45:29 AM | Liverpool not being able to beat Chelsea is wrong, they can. Will they, that's the question. Considering Chelsea will be playing with their 3rd string goalkeeper, Liverpool's tactic should be to attack and not play a counter-attack strategy. Put the defenders and goalie under alot of pressure. Pepper the guy with shots. Personally, I'd play Crouch and Torres up front, with Babel and Gout on the flanks. Have Gerrard and Spazzarano in central midfield.

|
| UEFA Champions League 07/08 Posted: 4/11/2008 10:10:37 AM | its Kuyt limey!
WE are more then capable of beating Chelsea, what's worrying is we normally have the 12th man on the last leg (at home) this time, we are at home first...
our lads can do it, but if we are to face UTD in Moscow and the possibilities of what might happen, (trouble wise) as much as it pains me, i would rather pass.
|
| UEFA Champions League 07/08 Posted: 4/11/2008 11:00:26 AM | No it's Gout! Like gout, Kuyt is just painful to have(on your team.) Don't you like my Spazzarano comment?
Come on now, give the fans more credit. If it's a liverpool/man u final, I can't see any more problems than if 2 other teams were playing.

Your kidding? the dislike between both sets of teams given they are only 40 miles away is immense... whilst i dont hate them (hate is a strong word) i do dislike allot of their fan base and i know allot of their fans for whom the feeling is mutual...
I have dated a manc fan, its bloody hard work, the 'mood' on both parts evaporates as soon as football is mentioned and we seem to start frothing at the mouth! no, seriously, for the most part we despise each other. All it will take is one kick off and the whole lot will be a nightmare.
Hooliganism isnt around as such it was any more, but between our sets of hard core fans, the adrenaline pumps and it only takes a second for each to explode.
this game would have 3 weeks to build up to with both sets of fans raising the stakes...
Oh and the Chief is still making an impression on me, whilst i will undoubtedly declare undying love for Kuyt, this has yet to appear with Mascherano ;)
|
| UEFA Champions League 07/08 Posted: 4/11/2008 12:00:45 PM | Liverpool have many chances to defeat Chelsea, in fact it will be easier than Arsenal i think.
by the way, it may be true that hooliganism is not in England as it used to be. however, when the English travel outside England, lots of fans become idiots! destroying seats, toilets, fighting in the streets, facing the police, breaking glasses, etc
i know that not all English act the same way, but sadly the English have got a bad press outside Britain because of those idiots who give a bad name
|
| UEFA Champions League 07/08 Posted: 4/11/2008 12:18:53 PM | Funny how you never see fireworks, or fires or people stampeding at an EPL match on tv. Same can't be said for televised games from the continent or south america. Yet british fans get labeled as being bad. Maybe people in other countries should take a long hard look at themselves. | |
|
| UEFA Champions League 07/08 Posted: 4/11/2008 8:12:03 PM | I hate man u. My choice is Barca to win, then chelsea, then liverpool. The dictator "Sir Alex" gets on my nerves. | |
|
| UEFA Champions League 07/08 Posted: 4/12/2008 11:19:07 AM | "funny how you never see fireworks, or fires or people stampeding at an EPL match on TV...........................yet British fans get labelled as being bad"
i never said that the British were bad on their own soil.
what i said is that they become bad and hooligans when travelling outside Britain
|
| UEFA Champions League 07/08 Posted: 4/12/2008 12:15:55 PM | Actually, you'll find English fans are more sinned against than sinners when they travel abroad. The brutality of the police and all that exacerbates a situation, not that i'm excusing any bad behaviour by english fans abroad.
While i'm at it, you lot do realise football exists outside the top divisions and Champions League eh?
|
| UEFA Champions League 07/08 Posted: 4/13/2008 4:18:54 AM | as i stated earlier liverpool will not progress because they are away in the second leg to chelsea.i`ve said this before the 1/4 finals was played.united liverpool final will get all english teams banned from europe yet again.chelsea will win the european cup which makes me sick being a united fan and considering we are not only the best team in europe weare the BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD!i saw a comment about chelsea not going to win because they have both goalkeepers out.kuyt and babbel couldnt score against a team with any keeper at all.they couldnt score in a brothel with their pay cheque hanging off their c**ks!but i am delighted to inform all liverpool fans of next seasons premier league table come may 1.man united 2.chelsea 3.arsenal 4.spurs 5.man city 6.everton 7.portsmouth 8.LIVERPOOL lol lol lol completely useless! | |
|
| UEFA Champions League 07/08 Posted: 4/13/2008 5:22:55 AM | Don't you just love the irony from a united fan, have to resort in placing everything in the gutter, to a level they are accustomed to. Firstly, sunshine, united have to pass barca to get to the final, your record since your last title has not exactly been rosy in this competition, falling at the 1/4's constantly. The heady heights of a semi final may be a litle too much for you, never count your chickens before they hatch.
Also, you can tell you know zip about football, BABBEL played years ago, BABEL now plays for liverpool. At least get the basic facts straight before going off on a rant. Making noises such as you have are the classical signs of someone running scared, IF united and liverpool get to the final united will not be feared, this is OUR competition and the reds will march on Moscow !
We won it five times, we won it five times, need i go on, its better than twice
|
| UEFA Champions League 07/08 Posted: 4/13/2008 5:32:06 AM | | the european cup, mmmmmmm a competition where over half the teams in it would not win the championship or scottish league lol.ya the only difference between babbel and babel is an extra b otherwise they are both as useless as each other lol.get back to me when liverpool win the premiership.lets hope they have the internet in heavan cos your gonna be a long time dead before they ever win it lol.look at chelseas passage to the semi final of whats ment to be the biggest competition in the world.sunderland would have got that far!as for barcelona lol.all their players are "injured" as stated in the sun its because they party too much.now i know you being a true liverpool fan would not read that paper lol.henry hasnt done anything for years, ronaldinho is well past it puyol is suspended they want the manager out, jesus its like the spainish version of liverpool lol.united will comfortably score 2 or more in the nou camp.barca cant defend and recently can barely score.united clean sheet at old trafford and easy passage into the final.we won it 3 times.............blahblah blah.we are catching your league titles total, well thats not hard lol give us 3-4 years and we will have 5 european cups.enjoy your last year in the european cup it was nice while it lasted.on a sad note.R.I.P to all those who lost their lives in the hillsborough disaster | |

A very honerable thing to say, i dont mind having the banter about football at all no matter how heated, at least you have the respect to respect others. A good gesture.

| UEFA Champions League 07/08 Posted: 4/14/2008 11:46:28 AM | anyone slagging the European Cup off, saying that half of teams would not win the Championship or the Scottish league is silly and does not know really anything about the sport.
the European Cup or Champions League is the hardest and most difficult tournament in the world, more difficult than the World Cup. which teams playing it would not win the SPL? please enlighten me Barca? Real Madrid? Bayer? Milan?
i should say ' half of the teams would win the Championship and the SCL sleeping'

| UEFA Champions League 07/08 Posted: 4/14/2008 12:01:06 PM | Respect to those who perished at one of the most horrific moments in sport, may you all be at peace.
Banter amongst football fans is what makes the game all the more enjoyable to support, i do have to say at this point however that due to the genetic link between australopithecine's and Utd fans, debating is not to dissimilar to that of talking to a brick wall. Never have I met a Utd fan with either an ounce of self deprication or realism, they all believe they are infallible.
Well to this I will say only one thing, Just you wait till you meet up with Barca, lets all see you repeat your consistent european form shall we. HA HA HA HA

| UEFA Champions League 07/08 Posted: 4/14/2008 12:12:36 PM | anyway there's a proper derby match on tomorrow at MOLINEUX. Don't lump us all in the same basket.

I think he is referring to teams in the group stage. Teams from smaller leagues, not Serie A, La Liga and such.

Not even worth my time to respond to that.

Well said. How many of you actually are from the city of the team you support? I know I am.

Blimeylimey take what i say with a pinch of salt , the retort would have been the same if it was a wigan supporter, its just banter from one supporter to another, i might detest united but that doesnt mean i detest their followers, we are one and the same, just wearing different colours.
And your teams still rubbish
So ner.
