"taking notes and thinking thoughts" seems impossible to concentrate while all of life unfolds waiting to be experienced
cannot take the time to express it all in words it has to be felt to be truly understand come see what all the fuss is about
the logic of the universe is perverse the math is precise on's and off's, yes's and no's, true's and false's, 0's and 1's it makes sense, too much sense
Is it God? Is it Intelligent Design? Is it pure chance? You tell me.
|
| I don't care what you write...... Posted: 6/10/2008 3:19:46 PM | it makes sense, too much sense so much so that I wanna know how a creator so wise could send anyone to hell no matter the bad the people do even a psychiatrist could tell
where that shyt comes from
and I could too by hanging out with you...
and listening.....watching....
perception...isn't it grand... how would the all knowing God need an "upper hand?"
and If I could see the reasoning behind all these things I'm sure God's understanding is greater..because he knows everything So, these man-made religions, giving God human characteristics make me wonder if the complicated plan isn't a little more simplistic than I've been led to believe so I'll continue searching, reading, and retrieve the answers As my maker I would think he deserves that much We'll spend hours looking for answers to everything else... but no more than a minute to hear his touch

| I don't care what you write...... Posted: 6/10/2008 3:54:39 PM | Great line Ash...
“We'll spend hours looking for answers to everything else... but no more than a minute to hear His touch” humankind seems to seek immediate gratification, impatient Must find Must have I need I want so selfish we have become even our prayers go unfinished incomplete with spiritual ADD the ego has become God and that’s not Faith that’s not Love as a result it brings no relief
even when unfinished, even when unspoken the answers come, we must take the time to listen but first we need to blend away the ego which has nothing to gain with selfish reason thats when all those prayers all those answers and all we need is given but first it requires submission

Gods arise from mind of man How the world to understand Not that there is nuaght of truth Just deluded from our youth
For the energies are there Drawing form to take their share Thus if you believe in such Energies will form as much
And if many think the same Manifest that Gods then came As for Gods they all do find Dwelling strong in human mind
But the tales are metaphores Weighing morals, nothing more With the grains of old events Colouring the tales bespent
And the One that you refer From Sumerians He stir Spun from want of Abraham Still just one of thought of man
Pagan Gods as they all be Even Christianity From it's roots so far from Ur Now distorted and a blur
All the same in every faith Do good things, be not a wraith Murder not, beget good seeds Help others with toil and deeds
Thus the tales you see are fun Whether many Gods or one All religions serve to thee Lessons, life, morality

make me wonder if the complicated plan isn't a little more simplistic
That grasped everything I feel about spirituality in a nutshell.
As my maker I would think he deserves that much
and that one is just too good, left me all tingly.

| I don't care what you write...... Posted: 6/10/2008 4:43:26 PM | excellent writes from both of you there!...and welcome Erik....always nice to see new faces and have new insight to "feel"...
this quote puzzle me a little though....
does it not take clouded vision to dance badly? and if the vision isn't clouded and you're dancing badly, does this not make you all the more responsible for your actions? Or does this refer to the dancing as joyful... and the stride as wrathful, and therefore the worse of the two?
woulda wrote a poem bout this but it woulda took me a minute and your company I'd miss Loving your insight and therefore wanting more a grasp on spirituality is one thing I adore
edit post: Render.....yay!....been so long since we've played on the threads together!....I can feel you from miles away brother....soooo glad you took that plunge....let the learning begin!!!....as for that last line that left you all tingly....i do believe that this was part of our 6 hour discussion that day.....i'm still searching too...but never stop, yanno?....the religions that are out there offer so much insight it's overwhelming, but it's darned well worth the search if it ultimately leads to peace of mind and peace with the maker...ya dig?

Have we fooled ourselves? the preacher's on TV again raking in the millions for his stadium-to-church conversion
Do any of us really have "a grasp on spirituality"? or are we all just grasping at straws?
Do we need the intermediaries in order to know God, good, justice? or can we merely step outside and see it works without the middle man?
I for one don't need another to tell me what is what what does he know anyway? Did God give him his diploma in Theology?
Do not look to others for the answers You already know them just sit awhile and contemplate the thruths that are self-evident
Ash!!! You know the creative shyt comes and goes, but it looks like I'm feelin something, and I'm gonna run with it...
edit: yeah, I dig ;) | |

Did God give him his dipoloma in Theology?
you won't know if you don't dig through the books and see some who have written are more in tune to God....as they search more faithfully
not to say that they are God himself but those who are more devout are the ones that God uses moreso to spread his heart throughout
the many faces and places and give them ideas to ponder but rest assured I don't refer too that money hungry man over yonder
to know completely what you don't believe I believe you must fully understand what it is that you do not there's much to learn from lotsa' folks so give there ideas a shot
but tread ever aware keep your eyes open and ears too the things that God intends for you to know will not cause screaming from the voice within you
mom says God is your gut that voice within that doesn't quite sound like you if you pray to him with sincerity that place of peace....he'll lead you to

| I don't care what you write...... Posted: 6/10/2008 5:15:42 PM | Thank you, actually I am an old face, just popping through visiting PoF and a few threads here and there. I was intrigued by the poem you posted that preceded my own offering. And of course as an Aesirian I figured I'd leave a different throw on what you may have gathered from others.
It is always interesting to learn of different paths and ideas. But as mentioned before, translations from older languages to new, and obscurity always plague interpretations. The old example of a circle holds true. Thirty people sit in a friendly circle and one writes down a message on a peice of paper. Then they whisper the message into the ear beside them and say "Pass it on", and at the end the thirthieth person writes down what they heard. Of course the two messages are different in most cases, often radically different. Why? because it is human nature to express and add interpretation. Thus it is the same with old literary and oral works. The translations change and meanings of words are shifted. An example from the Book of Skjold:
" Upon the path wended he who was Fjolnir hight. A kenning of alfs and birds of the meadow, no print in the soft earth to leave. A son to see, thus forth did tread the Lord of wolf and wood alike. The longlight grew, the mist then withered, a glinting the gavelocks in warriors hands. Their circles the rune of Skjold was borne."
Translation:
" Walking along a path was a man named Fjolnir. He was wise to the ways of Elves and birds and left no footprints ( a trait of immortals when wandering in Midgard, or the realm of mankind ) when he walked through mud. He went to see one of his sons and obviously this was Odin ( Lord of Wolf and Wood is a referance point ) the Allfather of the Gods. The day was well under way. ( Growing longlight and fading mist ) and he spots the gleam of spears ( gavelocks ) in the hands of warriors. Their shields ( circles ) tell him by the insignia ( rune ) that these men serve Skjold."
It's one example of language varience.
More close to home is one from William Shakespear. The most famous line from Romeo and Juliet, BADLY missinterpreted by modern people.
"Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?" < Today most folks misinterpret that and think that it means "Romeo, Romeo where are you Romeo?" BUT, that is NOT even close to what she is asking. She is not asking his location. This is a language gap of only a few hundred years. What she is asking is: "Romeo, Romeo, why are you Romeo?" ( Wherefore is Why in Olde English ) In other words, Why did you have to be born into the family of my family's enemies? She's lamenting their social seperation, not wondering where is is physically at.
Just some interesting litereary notes and quotes. Cheers Ash!

Speaking from the heart, the further I have turned away is when my life has always been the hardest and the hardest to bear. I always bring that to mind when I find the easy slide and the glide of easy life come upon me..
much love to you~E | |

| I don't care what you write...... Posted: 6/13/2008 3:09:50 PM | I'm afraid my God is old and frail hearing and vision beginning to fail unable to see the hurt in the world or hear all the cries and wails
Can my god not hear the prayers or is it that he no longer cares that the swords in our little world far outnumber all the plowshares
Can we blame him for losing faith in what's become of the human race to accept that he can't see or hear could be our saving grace
I guess what I am saying is why do we keep on praying to a God who no longer listens tired, feeble and graying
Is he powerful and all-giving but uncaring for the living or are we the deaf and the blind how can we be so forgiving
of a God who seems to ignore suffering, hatred and war to those who are more devout is it because fate has given you more if we are looking for absolution let's start a revolution maybe we are all we got and God is not the solution
so believe in Jesus' teachings but be wary of all the preaching for the existence of a benevolent God may be a bit over-reaching
Don't hide your head in the sand thinking your life is just grand there are many lives that are not for them you must make a stand
We can have a strong moral code without believing it was bestowed by a God looking down from above nothing borrowed nothing owed
but we do owe it to each other to live as sister and brother and worship the life you live bestowed by father and mother

Listen to the music.... question every beat. for honest doubt leads to the truest faith. the rhythm of joy soon taking your feet.

and the spirit heard the rhythm while the trees danced in the summer winds and the green leaves flowed in time a sweet summer dance came upon them a melody unheard by any until Him, just one, just one man paused long enough to hear it that whisper came to his ears only while the earthsong played and the spirit heard the rhythm grasping what had been missing for it seemed he had been dancing on the edge of all that harmony but never fully committed until Her, just one, just one woman gave him reason to flow and sway to the gentle rain and the summer winds that promised all that his heart needed once he gave himself up to it, let him be captured by the summer winds while the rain flowed down their bodies washed them clean and made them holy created freshness before the Maker that summer
