im a definate believer in this , my daughter who is now 6 started seeing spirits at 3 yrs old , i thought at first it was her imagination running wild as many kids do , but after moving house and her freaking out at 2 am every mornin because a man in our loft was scaring her i called in a medium , who delightfully let me know the previous tenants practised witchcraft only to balls it up , after going from room to room , she came across the loft and found the spirit of a nasty man who wouldnt leave , it took her 45 minutes to rid us of him , done me a reading in which i was told about my mum who died in 2001 .was totally unbelievable , the stuff she said noone would have known other then myself and of course my mum .
i see orbs in my bedroom on all sorts of occasions , taken pictures of them to find faces inside them .
on another occasion , we were at my ex mother inlaws house when again out the blue my daughter freaked, went a deathly pale shade of white n started shaking , holding onto me like someone was tryin to grab her she said theres a lady who looks like nanny (hubbys mum),i asked her to describe the lady , which she did , my hubby realised she was describing his nan who had passed years before , because i couldnt get my daughter to stop freaking , we then had to call the medium out to my mother inlaws house to help out , she said that the woman had shown herself to my daughter because she knows she can see and hear spirits but was really sorry to have scared her,,, my mother in law got quite scared herself so the medium sat down with her n started singing a song , from a man who was covered in what looked like black soot , it turned out the song was her n her hubbys song n he used to be a coalman . bless her she started crying at knowing he was around her .
im going to an audience with a spirit medium on wednesday night , really looking forward to it , my fella is comin along with me as he too has sightings of spirits , his aunt is a teacher in reiki so it will be good to see what they say ,

Have you ever noticed that you never hear stories about people calling in a medium who doesn't find any evidence of spiritual activity whatsoever?

I wonder why that is.

No and no is the quick answer, been wandering around "Haunted" castles and whatnot late at night looking for anything out of the ordinary (Including the most "haunted" castle in Britain apparently!).
Had some pretty scary experiences on mushrooms and acid but that was giant ducks attacking me not ghosts...

It really interests me, I've been on a few ghost hunts and like to read tales of haunted places. I do think some of the most haunted programs may be a little fake and put on for the cameras but my great gran died 7 years ago I remember waking shortly after she was buried and seeing her sitting on the end of my bed but I wasn't frightened I felt very calm and at ease before going back to sleep my sister who was about 8 at the time woke up the next day and told my mum what she had seen, I do believe my nan came to check on us that night....either that or I've lost the plot

Never been on a ghost hunt, never really been interested, until I had an experience which opened my eyes somewhat..

Short version - 6 of the passengers ( including myself ) and the driver of a National bus travelling from Cheltenham to Aberystwyth one Sunday evening saw a young girl maybe 13 - 14 appear right in front of the bus' windscreen as we turned over a hump back bridge in a Herefordshire village. We stopped the bus and got out convinced that we had run a girl over, searched high and low ( and yes, in the river ) but no sign, except a slightly odd smell of static electricity in the air.

Years later, a complete stranger walked up to me and suggested I see a medium. Rubbish of course, but a lady friend suggested that it might be fun to go to one , and for some reason we ended up going to find a "flower Lady" in Blackpool about 40 miles away from where I live. My cynical attitude was shattered when my Mum began to speak through her - and as there were certain unusual detail aspects of my Mothers death when I was 12, I KNEW this was my Mum - there was no way this was a numbers game.

So, yes, I do believe.

Havent been to a medium since, havent seen a ghost since, cant watch Most Haunted without howling laughing, but deep down inside, I know what I know.

I like to think there is somthing after death and maybe we can come and haunt if our spirit is strong enough lol but I dont believe these programmes one bit, like, 'most haunted' I believe they are all set up.
I also have read these books with true ghostly events and do believe most of them.

No experience of myself but
My sister (18 at the time)came home after her date with her boyfriend at the pictures, we was all tucked up in bed and I was only about 3 at the time so dont remember anything.
But what she told me is that she came in the front door and the lounge which was on the left, she happend to see someome sitting down on the sofa in the dark, she asked 'mum what are you doing sat there in the dark'? at that point she says this person just turned their head and stare at her and my sister said she looked to be wearing a victorian style dress, she realised quickly it was not mum and screamed until my parents came down thinking somthing awful had happend.

A week or so later after trying to figure out who it was, at a visit to my grandmothers she pulled out some old photographs and my sister turned whitely pale when she saw a picture of my grandmothers grandmother!
We still have no idea why she would visit my sister but she is adament that was her.

I definatly believe in this, my sister has never been a liar or story teller.

yup totally believe in it all,it helps that my house was built ontop of a graveyard doesnt help that the houses are sinking back in lol.
Seen both my grandparents and some others walking around but after all these years i am used to it, even the lads will come in and say they saw such and such on the stairs lol.It is a great way to freak out friends when they stay though

Funny you don,t see haunted homes on tv like a council house or something.

It,s always a pub or a castle dating back 500 years or so.

actually you do, there is a medium called mia dowlan who does her own series of haunted homes and there in reall homes and the familys are generaly scared s***less of there houses!!! so not always in castles who buildings that are hundreds of years old!!

and yes i believe in them...x

hello,

yes i beleive int eh super natural, i have had a few encounters myself.

I went to see my friend in Erdington in 2006, as i was sat in his car this female in a black smock, white shirt ,black tights, and shoes appeared in front of me. she stood and just looked directly at me,. I reached to get my phone to take a picture but by the time i had reached to get it , she had disappeared.
My friend asked why i hadnt said anything, when he was busy talking to me.

The other one was when i was working at a dental practice in erdington, in the evenings you could sometimes hear things going bump in the night, I was singing to one of my tracks on the phone when i heard this female singing in the back ground, and it wasnt on my phone either.

I always used to say hello to her and goodbye.
I've worked at a mercedes place which was haunted too, doors used to slam shut on their own.

The last encounter i had was when i lived in west bromwhich west midlands.
I rented out a house from a catholic landlord.
The house was nice but on a few occasions my family and myself used to see a black shaddow that used to float around the landing, bathroom, kitchen and stairways.
We didnt stay too long in the property , about 6 months and we left as the landlord became a bully and wanted us out as we couldnt afford the rent and the benefits wouldnt pay it either .

Hope i havent scared you too much.

its not all humbug, and yes it can be takern seriously, you dont just have to see a ghost to beleive its also a feeling, even if you dont see you will feel.

Its like asking you to perform when you dont want to , spirits dont always want to show them selves either. why should they? it would be like been at a circus. I often feel things around me , i cant see them but i can see them, some of us are able to see and feel, other arnt blessed or gifted in the same way. You dont believe because you havent seen or felt any pressences.

Yes the mind is an amazing thing and once you know how the mind works , you will understand that we have perseptors in our brains or receivers if you like to either see or feel another presence.

Do you ever know when there is someone else around you with out looking ? i do . I guess im just tuned in, ghosts dont talk like we do either , they communicate in other ways. I think its like a jigsaw that you have to put together.

This is another subject that is frustrating to discuss because there is no way of proving it is true or not !

Do ghosts exist ? I am sceptical and would need some proof.

And thats even having had an "experience" myself !!

Way back when I was younger, I worked 10 weeks of night shifts delivering lorryloads of newspapers to the South coast from London.

One morning, while driving back after a long shift, as I was driving along a motorway south of London at 60 mph - for a split second I saw a large WW2 bomber aircraft parked right in front of me ! I actually ducked as I was convinced I would not be able to stop in time and was driving under its wing. Then it was gone !

Was it a ghost plane ? Or did I daydream ? Or had I fallen asleep at the wheel ?

Like any other ghost story - no way of knowing !

But it is also possible that the presence you are feeling is actually yourself. Stimulation of the tempoparietal junction can cause the feeling of there being another entity in your personal space, 'shadowing' you.

Not wishing to be a debunker, as I believe that there is still an awful lot more to know about the subject and we are far from being able to explain everything.

Ha, feeling a little freaked myself at the moment.
The other morning, J informed me that when she got up and went downstairs she found the front door ajar. Now, I found that strange as normally, last thing before bed, I check the door is locked. I assumed i'd had a bit of a wobbly and forgotten to do it. Anyway, tonight, Been out at a BBQ, came home and as soon as we came in I turned and locked the door. A little while later as J went to bed, I noticed a bit of a breeze and assumed she'd left the pation doors open. Checked them, shut and locked. Went out into the hall and the front door was open. Now this time, I KNOW the front door was properly shut and the latch was on, so how did the bloody door open? Well freaky. Have now bolted the door to be absolutely certainbut am a little freaked by it. Scared J a bit too!

i do believe,we lived in some flats that were haunted when i was little, lots of things happened but as kids you dont really take it in,one of the things i used to see was a ladys face at my bedroom window every night,it used to scare me so much that i used to recite the lords prayer over and over,we lived on the 3rdfloor,i met up with a neighbour a while ago and we got talking and i recalled this, she went white and said you have to talk to my brother,he had had the same experiance.I often get feelings nowdays, and have odd unexplained things happen,i used to be able to predict raffle numbers when i worked in a factory(sounds stupid but was funny to see peoples faces when i asked them their number then pulled it out!)had a wierd feeling all day the day my mum died, like i knew something was going to happen, and seem to sense things,so i do believe!

Ghosts & The Supernatural

Is believing in ghosts and the supernatural not just the outward and visable sign of inward fears?
Im very sceptical about ghosts and the supernatural, but i do try to keep an open mind.
Ive heard many stories and i once lived in a 16th century mansion that had a very well documented history.
It was said that it was haunted but it had a fantastic atmosphere.Nevertheless,at the top of the winding stairs 3 steps from the top, everyone at some stage felt a cold chill while reaching that point. And allthough at that time there was 16 lads of between 16-18,most of which had very dodgy historys allready,no one dared entering the sealed off celler, even though we were given permission too.I must admit that i spent many nights chitting bricks at noises i couldnt understand.

..dont think so - if it is then the driver of the bus and 6 passengers all had the same fear at exactly the same time which manifested itself in the same way ... unlikely .

now im pretty open to all things, but until someone can actualy prove the existance of ghosts, spirits or whatever, ill stay a sceptic.

why is it that with all the availability of recording equipment today, no one has any credible footage of anything that could be descibed as proof?

Hi.

I saw a ghost the other day, I was in my greenhouse when I looked up & saw a female figure in what looked like a white dress walking down the garden path. this only lasted for a split second and she was gone.

It was in broad daylight and totally unscary.

but quite odd indeed!

This is really topical for me.

I was up chatting last night on the webcam with a good friend I met on here. At around 2.45am your time we were saying goodnights and I said to her "woa, I just saw a ball of light down in that corner"
I would describe it as a bit bigger than a table tennis ball, and a brilliant, bright, white light and it moved about six inches off the floor across a few inches on an uneven path. On the phone this morning she said she knew what it was immediately but didn't want to worry me. She needn't have worried about that, five minutes later I literally jumped out of my chair and flew across the room shouting all sorts of not nice words.
This time I had seen it much clearer and much longer, about six inches above the sofa bed and moving the same way, for about ten to twelve inches in the same erratic motion. There is no way whatsoever it was reflection or imagination, it was real.
My friend stayed on line with me keeping me calm for a while and (this is where I sound even nuttier lol)I could sense a man, slightly taller and better built than me, with a lot more hair ;o) standing in the kitchen area, roughly the direction the light was in.
We stayed on line til about 4.30 your time and as it was getting light here I felt a little bit more comfortable.
I cannot thank the lady enough, but know she saw my reaction and knows it was for real. I kept joking it was like her own personal episode of Most Haunted and she reckoned it was better cause this wasn't fake.
I will ask her if she'll come on later and confirm if you like.
But do I believe? I always wanted to and have had experiences, but nothing like last night, a presence I can still feel but not as strongly.

A gift? One I'd certainly like to return at this moment in time! And no, thanks for the offers but I am not challenging while I'm here on my own! Big girl's blouse that I am LOL.

I can honestly say that I don't believe in any kind of afterlife, ghosts or the supernatural. In my humble opinion it is simply the mind's influence... be it paranoia, hope for a loved one or just simply being convinced that there is something there and seeing it because of that. I'd love to believe that my mum was looking after me and that her spirit was still around, but I simply can't

After searching the whole of the internet I can't find a single verified picture of a genuine ghost.

Can anyone explain that? Now, that is really spooky.
