The favorites list is a way to mark profiles you like with the intention of contacting that person later.You can also use it to have a quick link to send an e-mail without including the e-mail you got from them. You can remove yourself from anyones favorite list or they can remove themself from your list. It also gives an indication as to how likely you are to get a response.I have been surprised a time or two on that one.

I add people to my favorites list so that I can contact them more easily. I notice that people sometimes add me to theirs and within a day or two, they remove me again, so the number changes all the time, and really has no significance as far as "popularity", etc.

One of the things I've learned about being on POF that is a red flag to me, how many favorites someone has on their profile. Honestly now, if I come across a lady who has over 10 people that have listed her as a favorite, I'll move on. I mean seriously, if a woman has over 150 guys that have her as a favorite, the odds are that if I send her a message it won't get read or read and deleted and no contact. I'm flattered just like anyone when someone puts me down as their favorite but it's nice if you've actually talked to that person at least once. Not trying to sound off like sour grapes but from what I've seen here there are more guys on this site than gals and some of the guys are married looking for an affair. And if I come across someone who has like 100 people listing her as a favorite, see ya. Anyone else see what I'm getting at here!?

^^^^^ 10 or more - geez thats a low number seriously you might want to reconsider - i get added on about 10 favs about once a week - lately i've taken up to removing myself from peoples lists because of mistaken attitudes like yours but trust me, its too easy to get added quickly to a lot of lists and it has no reflection on how many people i may have on the go.

I mean seriously, if a woman has over 150 guys that have her as a favorite, the odds are that if I send her a message it won't get read or read and deleted and no contact. I couldn't agree more. Several times I've viewed the profile of someone I might like to contact, but then I see that they are on "547 members favorites lists." So I figure "What's the point?" and move on down the highway of profiles...

"547 members favorites lists." So I figure "What's the point?" Self defeating attitude - who's to say that she even cares for any of them? If she's still here, it would typically indicate she hasn't found the right person yet. Can't win unless you play.
