| What kind of art do you do? Posted: 4/16/2008 7:58:46 PM | Murals on motorcycle gas tanks and fenders....just finished some of the Bo-Dyne US Cup Bobsleds......I actually did some tables (yes....veeerrrryyyyy eeexxxpensive tables) for Robert Davoli's House. http://www.sigmapartners.com/davoli.php
I think the tables were like $60,000.00 total crap...but I had to re-do someone elses' screw up in CA...I wound up chargin' him like $14,000.00 to paint them. Some of the additives were $400.00 for 8 oz. Yikes...I made sure not to spill any....hehehehe.
Did some HR Gieger stuff... I think it's on my web site somewhere here...

Wow... I played piano for years....my dad is still giggin' at 80 in his jazz band...still sings too. Django, Swing...stuff like that....
I can not fathom how you can switch from piano to guitar. I tried to learn guitar several times....it just doesn't make any sense to me...even when my dad tried to teach me.
You sound really talented.

| What kind of art do you do? Posted: 4/18/2008 10:53:50 AM | | I write elaborate pop music. I play guitar, bass, keys, drums, and sing. I have a very elaborate recording studio and spend close to 40 hours a week in there. Since I write songs, I also journal quite a bit and feel as the older I get the more profound nuggets of wisdom I am able to write down. The writing has definitely helped with lyric writing. I am also getting into Photography, and video. Maybe sometime this year I will also try my hand at painting. | |

Sean, I don't know if fancynanci looks at it this way, but when I teach guitar to people who know piano, it seems to help them to think about the guitar strings as 6 little piano keyboards at first. It seems to make connecting the logic of the two a bit less of a leap.

| What kind of art do you do? Posted: 4/21/2008 8:46:55 AM | My art is into animation, making cartoons and stuff. I'm tinkering around with digital stuff now, but my absolute favorite is stillframe and claymation.
I also do a lil writing, writing the scripts, creating the characters and all that.

| What kind of art do you do? Posted: 4/22/2008 5:34:15 PM | | Hi there. I love writing poetry too and once communicated with a friend only in poetry which lasted for many months. I also paint in watercolour and acrylic and have some on display at a local hotel. I have also sold some. I have been doing it for about 5 years so very amateur. I like to paint landscapes from photographs, and also animals and flowers. But will have a go at anything. | |

| What kind of art do you do? Posted: 4/23/2008 9:52:08 AM | artistcrose - that's a really interesting idea to communicate in poetry. I have a couple of penpals and I'm not sure what they'd make of a letter written in poetry! | |

| What kind of art do you do? Posted: 4/23/2008 2:55:53 PM | Mainly mosaics...and, no, not flowerpots! 'Course, nothing wrong with those, I just prefer to work on a larger 'canvas'...walls, patios, etc, basically if its blank and not moving, it gets stuff adhered to it!....if I can't find that, then I guess I could work on a large planter, if forced to.
I've taken up painting abstracts w/acrylics in the last couple of years and thoroughly enjoy that....don't know if I'm 'any good' at it and probably don't care. So far, nobody has puked looking at them...is that a good thing?

| What kind of art do you do? Posted: 5/27/2008 6:32:35 PM | I was wondering what art or crafts people would like to take up but haven't yet? I have a ton of things I would like to learn, but generally money and not a clue where to start holds me back! A few things I can think of are: pyrography (I'd love to try this, might put some money aside for a kit from amazon or something!), sculpture (especially from junk), altered art, wood carving, and other woodwork (my dad used to make amazing things and I'd love to have these skills). I also really want learn how to express myself through abstract pictures. I've not quite figured out how to do that yet. I can express myself through words, but I'm also very attracted to the visual arts and I'd like to do both. Does anyone have any tips? | |

| What kind of art do you do? Posted: 5/28/2008 10:23:19 AM | | I like to draw in mixed media a lot of the time, big fan of charcoal and conte crayon, I also likes sculpture with practically any kind of materials, I like to write lyrics sometimes as well, I'm a singer so it's fun to think of music. I've been trying to find commission work, but it can be tough, I just did a portrait of the local fire cheif in charcoal, which turned out really well. Subject matter changes with me a lot, I'm a big fan of the human form for sculpture and drawing, particularly because of my interest in comic book art. anyways dunno what else to say haha. | |

| What kind of art do you do? Posted: 5/28/2008 4:08:10 PM | | I primarily paint, usually with acrylics though sometimes I break out my oil pastels, or oil paints, or colored pencils. Occasionally I get out the wax and sculpt, make moulds and castings of my sculptures, and rarely I work in clay since I have a friend who owns a few kilns. But, as I said, the bulk of my work is in acrylic painting. I like to paint bold expressionistic pieces, sometimes more abstract and other times getting close to illustrative. My earlier pieces would be called realism, but then my work started to get more surreal, and then slowly evolved into more current expressionist phase. It's hard to describe my work; trying to describe art is like trying to describe how chocolate tastes to a man with no taste buds. But, most people like my work, many people love it, and quite a few even hate it (yes, I've had them tell me so). As long as it gets a reaction I'm happy, because there's nothing I dread more than being "mediocre". | |

| What kind of art do you do? Posted: 5/30/2008 8:00:54 AM | I create art from the torn pieces of my shredded heart... it was broken by my ex when she cheated on me and I'm hoping that by putting my heart on a gallery wall a beautiful art patron will take notice and have sex with me.
Sorry... I couldn't resist, Hutch.
In reality I'm a Metal Sculptor of large works. . .
James, Port Orchard, Washington, USA, Earth
PS: My heart is not broken and my ex never cheated on me although I would have sex with a beautiful art patron if given 1/2 the chance.
