| Any other POF motorcyclists out there? Posted: 5/1/2009 7:37:06 AM | | "Wuss" was probably the wrong term to use Brent. I attend a few Rally's every year and there are many people that trailer their bikes to these events and for probably very good reason. Many people bring their RV's and enclosed trailers so they don't have to "rough" it like I always do. There are times where it would be great to haul the bike so I can bring a cooler and my own food and bring a larger tent for comfort so maybe I was a little harsh. But it's amazing how much I can fit on my bike. 5 man/woman tent, sleeping bag, Air mattress with pump, clothes, rain gear and even a bottle of Vodka. Hogrock usually does not serve alcohol so have to bring your own. Thank God for all the food vendors at these rallies. | |

| Any other POF motorcyclists out there? Posted: 5/1/2009 7:48:34 AM | Brent! And to answer your question...nopers! I don't....yet. Always rode with my ex...then when we split, went out and got my own license and was shopping for a bike when I got laid off. I have every intention of having one by next Spring when I buy the one I want from a friend who is selling his. ;) I had a Yamaha in my 20's!
Tom...there are really nice soft, collapsable coolers, nowadays. We always took a couple of those and then shopped for goodies closer to the site...sandwich meat, bread, simple sh!t to keep handy. You can usually get ice on site. :)

| Any other POF motorcyclists out there? Posted: 5/1/2009 8:38:56 AM | | What would be great is if I can ever talk some of my non-riding friends to follow me down so I can add more luxury items for myself in their cages. That would be perfect. Brent, the only time that I've trailered my bike is when I had a broken oil gear and had to tow it to the dealer for repairs. For me, that's about the only time that it's not an option for me but to each their own but for some reason, I do know more Harley riders that trailer to events than I do with friends who own other brands. Don't ask me why but just the way it is for some reason. | |

| Any other POF motorcyclists out there? Posted: 5/1/2009 9:28:08 AM | Okay, well I am relatively uneducated on bikes, my mother would not let me near them. One time she found out the neighbor had given me a ride on his and she skinned my hide! | |

| Any other POF motorcyclists out there? Posted: 5/1/2009 10:07:55 AM | You got me, Brent...I learned to ride on a Yamaha, and I owned a Yamaha...however, I was also young, and not as knowledgeable. ;) LOL
Again...personal preference. I have NO PROBS with those who prefer something different... Yamahas, Suzukis, Buells, Victory's, Harley, Honda, Crotch Rockets, Travel Bikes, Dirt Bikes, Choppers...whatever floats your boat!
Oh...and Trikes, too! LOL

| Any other POF motorcyclists out there? Posted: 5/1/2009 11:34:54 AM | You forgot Kawasaki Kat but Brent didn't forget. I've ridden bikes for years except for the period of raising the grown up kids now. When I bought this bike in 02 after years of not riding, I wasn't sure if I would enjoy as much as I did when I was a kid so had no interest in spending 20k plus on a Harley at the time and knew that I wanted a Crusier style bike for my laid back style anyway. I found the Kaw Nomad at BMW Motorad in the City and fell in love with it. It would have cost me probably twice as much for the similar Harley Road King but didn't want to spend that kind of money. I've ridden many of my friends Harleys the past 7 years and certainly like them but don't really see much of a difference in terms of ride. In my book, as long as you ride is the most important thing to me. By the way: I don't ride Hogs, I prefer to ride a Kaw and if you don't like it, then get your ass of the back of it then. lol I've had no complaints to date and most say they prefer the smoother ride compared to a Harley anyway. But I did have a gal years ago that enjoyed the buzz of my 73 Honda 450 and used to leave wet marks on my seat...................oh well, that story is for another day. | |

| Any other POF motorcyclists out there? Posted: 5/2/2009 12:14:03 AM | Hey, just found these forums.
I haven't been on the site for tooooo long, but I do own a bike.
08 gsx-r 600, and friggin love it. I'm from KC, and most trips originate there, and wrap around the city or out to the boonies and back.
Seems the thread is mostly about harleys and other cruisers. Ehh, different strokes I guess.

I love riding on the back of a bike with my legs wrapped around the man in front of me. MMMMMMMMMMM!! What a feeling!! I've always wanted to go on a Poker Run too but never have gotten to yet. They're always for a good charity too.

| Any other POF motorcyclists out there? Posted: 5/10/2009 5:43:11 PM | One of my Xbf's that does not have a Harley (I don't remember what he rode, but it was very nice) sent this to me...
A Horse, A Chicken & A Harley
On the farm lived a chicken and a horse, both of whom l oved to play together. One day the two were playing, when the horse fell into a bog and began to sink. Scared for his life, the horse whinnied for the chicken to go get the farmer for help! Off the chicken ran, back to the farm.. Arriving at the farm, he searched and searched for the farmer, but to no avail, for he had gone to town with the only tractor. Running around, the chicken spied the farmer's new Harley. Finding the keys in the ignition, the chicken sped off with a length of rope hoping he still had time to save his friend's life. Back at the bog, the horse was surprised, but happy, to see the chicken arrive on the shiny Harley, and he managed to get a hold of the loop of rope the chicken tossed to him. After tying the other end to the rear bumper of the farmer's bike, the chicken then drove slowly forward and, with the aid of the powerful bike, rescued the horse! Happy & proud, the chicken rode the Harley back to the farmhouse, and the farmer was none the wiser when he returned. The friendship between the two animals was cemented: Best Buddies, Best Pals. A few weeks later, the chicken fell into a mud pit, and soon, he too, began to sink and cried out to the horse to save his life! The horse thought a moment, walked over, and straddled the large puddle. Looking underneath, he told the chicken to grab his hangy-down thing and he would then lift him out of the pit. The chicken got a good grip, and the horse pulled him up and out, saving his life. The moral of the story? (yep, you betcha, there IS a moral!) "When You're Hung Like A Horse, You Don't Need A Harley To Pick Up Chicks" But it doesn't hurt!

| Any other POF motorcyclists out there? Posted: 5/15/2009 9:12:53 AM | I've always loved the looks and style of Harley's (especially the past 10 years) but could never justify the added expense of owning an American Legend because of that alone. If you ride a cruiser style motorcycle, the majority of them are Harley's these days but I wanted to be different than the majority of cruiser riders and that I am. lol As long as you ride is the most important aspect of it all. I'm heading down to the SEMO Rally held in Lesterville, Missouri for the weekend and the weather is looking good. | |

| Any other POF motorcyclists out there? Posted: 5/15/2009 9:16:38 AM | | Have fun and be careful! I am kind of miffed about HD gear, as far as clothing and leathers. It is hard to find them made in America like the bikes. Kind of limits you. Have to search through a lot! | |
