| Worst Breakup Line you ever used or heard Posted: 11/7/2008 9:44:45 PM | I got, I"m not the guy for you. "you dictated to me". This when he told me on the third date, he needed to pace the relationship. Code for "I'm done, right"....
I just read an article about boundaries, and this guy seemed to resent having them made. Specifically, things like buying a movie pass for AFF, then giving me an hour notice to join him. What do guys think of a woman communicating, setting boundaries.etc. I guess I need to find out. Sc

| Worst Breakup Line you ever used or heard Posted: 11/8/2008 12:22:29 AM | Said to me: "In short...Last Tues. Dr. Phil said we need to break up."
This was after months of separation, and him hemming and hawing for ages with me in the meantime gotten the emotional work done to be totally over it by the time he came to this 'epiphany'... I screamed with laughter - after the stun. LOL

Last I ever heard from him! I guess it wasn't just a drink he got given for his birthday!
Plenty more in the sea though, hopefully better ones too.

| Worst Breakup Line you ever used or heard Posted: 11/8/2008 10:31:15 AM | In response to the "I love you but I'm not in love with you."
That's how I felt with my ex-fiance. I loved him like he was my best friend, but the spark or chemistry was gone. I didn't feel like we were together even. I actually had to use that line on him...

| Worst Breakup Line you ever used or heard Posted: 11/8/2008 11:48:27 AM | | My ex went AWOL for over a week. When I caught up with him his breakup line was 'I was hoping that you would finish it so it would hurt you less.' Duh- like what did going AWOL for a week do to me? Another, when asked if he was seeing someone else, he said 'I haven't got time to **** anyone else.' So if he did have time does that mean he would be sleeping with someone else? Yes, they are from the same guy- you know who you are, you spineless git! | |

| Worst Breakup Line you ever used or heard Posted: 11/8/2008 12:32:47 PM | She actually said:

"I think you're planning to break up with me, so I'm dumping you."

| Worst Breakup Line you ever used or heard Posted: 11/8/2008 6:09:56 PM | Yeah Pink,
You got it right. "hearing nothing at all" is the worst.
It shows cowardice and an incapacity to deal with life’s events
It also leaves the recipient wondering “What the F”

| Worst Breakup Line you ever used or heard Posted: 11/9/2008 6:09:40 AM | Hearing nothing at all is pretty bad I agree.
What about when you're doing the breaking up, what if the reason sounds like the corniest break up line ever?
Im thinking of a time not that long ago when I was getting to know a bloke, or at least spending some time with him, and I liked him a lot, but he didnt turn my knees to jelly.
That on its own wouldnt have been a deal breaker, but he really didnt seem to want to open up and talking about anything more than Id be comfortable telling some colleague at work felt so unwanted that I chickened out.
His lack of time, and not taking me to his place etc stank of not being single, but I'd given him the benefit of the doubt since when he talked about his week it all added up ok... Not to mention I just found it an impossible thing to talk about with him!
In the end, it was the fact that not only did he avoid proper talking, but I found it harder with him than anyone else I've dated, that made me decide we weren't a suitable couple. However, the very reason I needed to say it, made it really hard to say! I'm ashamed to say I did it over the phone, I didnt explain myself properly either, but it was better than not doing it.
Point is, (sorry, I know I babble!) part of me really wanted to say "I'd like us to stay friends, if you'll have me" but it felt so corny it seemed disrespectful and stupid and I couldnt say it.
Maybe he really is a cheater and I haven't lost out at all, maybe if I had have found a way to stay friends we'd have found it easier to find a way to talk to each other and could have been really close some day, I'll never know.
What do you do when what you sincerely want to say is the most insincere sounding thing you can imagine?!!!

| Worst Breakup Line you ever used or heard Posted: 11/9/2008 7:04:32 AM | I have heard most of these and some were plain flat out funny.
My favorite is: I think we need a short break from each other.
My all timer is: I need some space. - Usually the end of that sentence is without you in it!
Oh well. People can be so lame.
