Part of the problem was that I let myself be tricked by women who claim to like sex.
It took me decades to figure this out.
Why can't women just be honest and admit the truth?!

Actually there are a lot of women who like sex when the guy is a good performer. And a lot of them that enjoy "so-so" sex with a man because they truly love him.

Just putting "not marriage-minded" eliminates 90 per cent of all women on these dating sites, so the only women who contact me are already in the right frame of mind.

You have to get an audition first.
And what I've discovered on PoF is that it requires a fair amount of deception, which I suppose most men are good at. Don't we hear constant lamentations from women about being "played"?
I'm finally getting some great sex, but I no longer care a great deal. The hassle and weird games go beyond anything I dreamed of. And these days, work is often the same for the same reasons.
I post here for an occasional chuckle but I don't care much anymore about making a connection with women. I find most of them annoying or demanding or unattractive and it's probably true that the problem is me, but that doesn't change the fact that sex with 99% of them would still probably suck for me.
I wonder why it's like this now.
What changed?
Did I just develop a better understanding of the dynamics?
Did I develop a pavlovian aversion from my experiences?
The women here (and Mr Canadian Guy) want to believe the problem is me.
And it probably is.
Yet I've talked to many men of my age who feel the same way.
Why does the hassle now outweigh the attraction?
Is it age-related?
Experience-related?
Or has it also changed for other, younger men of less experience?
Are my expectations too high? It seems unlikely, I expect so little compared to twenty years ago; just some great sex without a lot of hassle and pay-out. Is that so much now?
Do the women expect too much?
Did they change?
Maybe I just didn't notice, or play the game long enough when I was younger. | |

I don't really care one way or the other, sir. I'm just responding to your limited information about your sexless ex-wife, sexless past girlfriend and current obsession to 'get your rocks off'. I haven't said a whole lot because it's really just a basic reprint from any Psych 101 book and not any great revelation to anyone. The only one that knows what the problems were is you and them and the only way to really know for sure is to look and see what the sex lives of your ex's are like now that you're not on the scene. But be careful if you decide to do this ... you might not like what you find out.
