"Me & my mobile phone" picture taken in a mirror, almost as bad as "me & my PC" photos.

| what not to put in a profile Posted: 6/9/2008 3:19:29 AM | I don't think it really matters, the most attention i've had on here was when I called myself 'undateable' and described myself as everything a woman wouldnt want from a man.
I had loadsa mail.
Put whatever you like in it...as long as you inject a little humour...that goes a long way.
I put this poem in my profile...and my good lady just couldnt resist but mail me...
Thank you veronica.
After A While by Veronica A. Shoffstall
After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul and you learn that love doesn't mean leaning and company doesn't always mean security. And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises and you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead with the grace of woman, not the grief of a child and you learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans and futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight. After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much so you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn that you really can endure you really are strong you really do have worth and you learn and you learn with every goodbye, you learn...

Any of the POF 'Must not/Must not be looking for' options would be a start. They're so 'catch all' judgemental, and negative.
POF have only forgotten to include a 'Must not be looking to actually meet' option.
I must not be so sarcastic. Women don't like sarcasm apparently..........But hey, one never knows.

| what not to put in a profile Posted: 6/9/2008 2:18:23 PM | i would say dont put something like "for a first date ild like to go hot air ballooning" or "be whisked off to france" or something equally ambitious
its just plain crazy to go on a blind date and decide to do something that locks you into their company for a whole day or even half a day
for a 2nd or 3rd date fine, but as a "saying hello for the first time" kind of date it would be a killer
because if theyre not what you thought theyre going to be and you want to bolt after the 1st 5 minutes then thats going to feel like a very long day for you both

| what not to put in a profile Posted: 6/10/2008 4:30:46 AM | A cuddle on the couch with a kebab is probably not a good idea.
Personally, I prefer staying out and going in rather than going out and staying in, but it's just a variation on a cliche I suppose.
Oh to see something different on a woman's profile instead of the usual stuff about family, looking years younger than they are (so their friends tell them) and having a wacky sense of humour.
I haven't come across any woman on here yet with a wacky soh.......but she's out there somewhere.

| what not to put in a profile Posted: 6/10/2008 5:16:06 AM | Hmm, things not to put
I love to stalk women
My hobby is scratching my nuts
Im an avid bird watcher, but i keep getting arrested
I love to watch the kids running and screaming in the playground - they didnt know they where blanks
To say you love your car, but meen you love it far to much (anyone see that programme on tele, some messed up monkeys on that)
By the way, im not a stalker, if they need an itch i will, but only if they need it, yeh of course I look at women as they go by but never been told off for it (well, yet), I dont own a gun and my car gets me from A-2-B

Oh to see something different on a woman's profile instead of the usual stuff about family, looking years younger than they are (so their friends tell them) and having a wacky sense of humour. Agree with this, any time I see wacky, zany, mad or anything similar on a profile I go straight on to the next one. When I read that a woman looks years younger than her age my first thought is usually "you should have gone to specsavers".

| what not to put in a profile Posted: 6/11/2008 8:00:47 AM | Same with men on that one i'm afraid. Salmon.
I chatted to someone who didnt have a photo, but claimed to look younger than his age, then reluctantly sent me one. told me it was a year old, but he looked much younger "in the flesh". we progressed to IM where he put a cam on. he was.........
Bald (in the photo he had a full head of dark hair) apart from the greyish white hair on the sides (very high forehead you could say?) looked at least 10 yrs older than he claimed, and i simply said.
"my goodness you've had a very bad year haven't you?"
He closed the IM and i was blocked. On mine i say im just an average 51 yr old. which is the truth. Wtf is the point lying? as soon as someone sees you they'll know.

| what not to put in a profile Posted: 6/11/2008 10:09:50 AM | | Women shouldn't put "anything you want to know just ask" if they are just going to delete your emails without replying when you do ask them something. | |

| what not to put in a profile Posted: 6/11/2008 12:23:19 PM | hahahaha, that too, keep em coming guys, this is hilarious
Have to say as well, some of the best are when they say they are easy going, but then list what they want in a guy (not being sexist, but i dont look at guys profiles to find out if they do the same)
|
| what not to put in a profile Posted: 6/11/2008 12:40:56 PM | | Women who say in their profile that they will reply to all emails never reply. Or is it just my emails they don't reply to? | |
