2. It will only cause us ladies heartache when we realise that we arent actually talking with Mr.Clooney

| what not to put in a profile Posted: 5/4/2008 1:09:26 PM | This is a funny thread but thought provoking as well. the idea of a profile is surely to give a snapshot or indication of you and your aspirations/expectations. Im not sure how much mine does that. The problem of course is that people being people will read far more into those few words you put down and place all manner of negative/positive connotations on them depending on the reader. In short they are pretty subjective and should be taken as such.
as for my pet hates:
havent really got any, some are just irksome but as someone posted earlier, the no perves/sex talk etc etc with pics of ample cleavage on the profile? what do you want to chat about...antiques?...mind you thye are a fine pair of ivory orbs you have there!!!!

'likes long walks on the beach' 'happy to go out or stay in and cuddle up with a DVD' 'can't be bothered filling this in. ask me' Long lists of partner requirements. Things offered in return : none. Any ASCII art, references to Maddie, Diana, cancer, troops or other braindead causes that get in the way of you actually doing anything with your life. txt spk any references to weirdos, ugly people etc etc. We're all on here to look for fanciable people, but you don't need to make yourself sound narrow minded and shallow.

| what not to put in a profile Posted: 5/4/2008 1:21:29 PM | Nooo please don't stop people putting such nonsense, it's easier to spot the dorks and avoid them.
I believe most of us can tell within the first few sentences whether the writer has the type of personna we seek. Let's be honest, the vast vast majority of profiles will not be to our liking for one reason or another, usually because they contain such nonsense. Saves us a heck of a lot of time sending messages / replying to theirs!

On careful owner...

When men/women put Long Term and waffle on, about meeting the right person and i need a cuddle...... CLINGY TWAT.
Men with mobile phones in their hands, why..The pic was not taken with it....so and no i don't want to see your 6 pack or your abs..
Oh and TESTIMONALS, why why why..Just speaks of rejected, but still wanting a bit.
Bad spellers, they crank me up.

| what not to put in a profile Posted: 5/4/2008 1:48:08 PM | It never cases to amaze me how many women have a real go at men in their profiles.
I thought this was a dating site ? If men are so bad why are they looking for one ?

| what not to put in a profile Posted: 5/4/2008 3:03:01 PM | | one iritant...those 'professional' composed photos, soft filter, pretty frock etc (off the shoulder number)...pleeeeeeeeeeeze | |

| what not to put in a profile Posted: 5/5/2008 5:07:49 AM | Men posing next to their cars.......perhaps shows lack of imagination and personality....also if you have a posh car gentlemen...you are more likely to attract gold diggers.
on the other hand really naff profiles do have a certain entertainment value

Men who insist on putting the word 'SEX' for their hobbies or interests
They only do that so that do have to waste their time replying to messages from frigid women.
|
| what not to put in a profile Posted: 5/5/2008 5:34:26 AM | | well if thats all they want then they should join sites especially for that kind of thing..... just rather off putting regardless of how frigid women may be | |
|
| what not to put in a profile Posted: 5/5/2008 5:34:49 AM | Unfortunately some men really do see sex as their hobby, sort of like stamp collecting I suppose. I must admit listening to their list of conquests and how each performed is a little more entertaining than the new first issue of some African countries new Stamps. But their hobby it most certainly is and everything is geared towards adding another conquest to their collection.
Sad innit. | |

Who said that was all they want? Believe it or not, not every chap who enjoys sex is some kind of pervert. I'd have thought that any woman who thinks they are probably has more issues of her own.
Why shouldn't they be open about it if it's an important part of a relationship to them? Surely it's better to find someone with whom you are compatible with in every way, including sexually.

My fav for profiles, though it has been mentioned..
Girls in undies, no players type comments, makes me giggle but not reply!
The big one though is pictures of kid's, I don't ever mesage or reply to anyone stupid enough to put kids on a dating site.
