| what not to put in a profile Posted: 5/6/2008 5:43:39 AM | I often see words to the effect of:
"I have 7 kids aged from 2 to 25"
and view them as a warning, that the author is looking for the father for number 8
There's also the frequent: "my kids are my world, and they come first at all times"
As opposed to what?? leaving them locked in a cellar in Austria?

| what not to put in a profile Posted: 5/6/2008 6:07:53 AM | | I dont like pics of women in their underwear or posing on beds just think that gives totally the wrong impression both of themselves and other women,, and then they put in their profiles,, not interested in cyber sex or not after one night stands, or not after sex, well what are they after if they are posing in their underwear on here!!! a total no no for me. And recently on a profile I saw a pic of someone in their hospital bed i mean do you really need to put that on your profile!!! | |

| what not to put in a profile Posted: 5/6/2008 6:55:27 AM | This thread is great. Best thing is if we banned everything we all hated, then most profiles would be totally blank. I'm sure there are bits on mine that annoy people.
So what bugs me:
1. TXT speak. I even mention on mine that if you email me using it I may not reply
2. People who post pictures that aren't the right way round. What's the point of that? If you have a digital camera or scanner then you must have the software to turn them round.
3. Women who take half naked pictures and then complain about pervs contacting them.
4. "Work hard and play hard" or "Can you keep up with me?".
5. (And the biggest annoyance) Women who complain bitterly about horrible men who treat them badly, and then continue to just go out with tw*ts who carry on treating them the same way.

Yeah, I mean it wouldn't do the monitor any good at all, so it's far more healthy to go cycling on a bicycle!
Time and time again (and it's been mentioned earlier) is the clanger of not being able to spell one's own purported profession. Today's spotted example was a "librarien"!

You get a lot of "bankers" as well.

| what not to put in a profile Posted: 5/6/2008 9:57:28 AM | Older men claiming that they can keep up with someone younger, or they feel a lot younger than they are, etc
Admittedly sometimes this comes in messages rather than on profiles but still... I didn't think of you as old until you said that line!!! And the thing is, this is guys who are only in their late 30's/ early 40's, they are not even old.
It's just really off putting.
|
| what not to put in a profile Posted: 5/6/2008 11:54:49 AM | | Doubt this really matters..... no matter what personal details or likes and dislikes....there will always be some ars*hole that doesn't like it just take pot luck, and remember if they don't like you, without getting to chat to you, they are not worth bothering with anyway, for example some woman here posted on the forum as i had blocked her for using sexual innuendo on a totally decent film forum site, think her broom needs a overhaul and she'd get out more | |
|
| what not to put in a profile Posted: 5/6/2008 12:15:08 PM | Im Thinking from the amount of mail I get my pic :-)
from other people , well realy long profiles put me off , I this I that , realy if you want to get to know someone talk to them , don,t read thier profile
the one thing absent from most peoples profiles .... the truth
|
| what not to put in a profile Posted: 5/6/2008 12:19:21 PM | Msg 111 how insulting are u?...... now implying i am a witch is acceptable, each to their own views, BUT i draw the line at being called SOME WOMAN!

| what not to put in a profile Posted: 5/6/2008 4:42:39 PM | Txt speak
Profiles that rule out anyone that is not perfect, e.g "I want a man between 21-22,who is between 5ft10" and 6ft tall, has blonde hair,a Bentley and looks like Brad Pitt who then complain on the same profile that they can't find Mr Right. Is it any wonder?!?!?
Women who take half naked pictures and then complain about pervs contacting them
Profiles that state they want one thing such as someone nice, has the same interests, same outlook on life etc but then turn out to ne complete rubbish when they turn you down before you have even talked because you are not a "Stunner".
|
| what not to put in a profile Posted: 5/6/2008 6:50:34 PM | 'Looking for kind honest, genuine man, bangs like the shithouse door & completely loaded with the look of Brad Pitt as well'
Maybe taking the piss just a touch eh girls?
''Love staying in with a bottle of wine & dvd'
Aint that what you do everynight as it is?
'I'm very independent'
But secretly you rely on a man to give you security eh? Definitely the road to wrack & ruin.
Ok so a few that are tongue in cheek. The one pet hate for myself is reading a profile that sounds like a list of demands/needs/wants.
[ Women who take half naked pictures and then complain about pervs contacting them]
Took the words right out of my mouth on that one!!! Its normally also coupled with the genuine/honest part as well.

People that put, no liars, cheats or players.......as if a liar a cheat and a player is going to think........... Oh damn i quite fancied you, that's scuppered my plans!!
... you think!!! | |

| what not to put in a profile Posted: 5/7/2008 7:46:31 AM | "If Carlsberg made girlfriends"
I'm sure that if they did they would be able to think of something far more original to say.
|
| what not to put in a profile Posted: 5/7/2008 9:30:16 AM | from what i can understand from the threads, i think the best profile should be.. man/woman seeks man/woman
cause anything else seems to be inapproiate or daft for someone else here.

| what not to put in a profile Posted: 5/7/2008 11:04:16 AM | what not to put in a profile Posted: 5/7/2008 6 49 PM Boring profiles: Profiles that don't say anything about the person, that say "I love stuff & I like to do things". Girls profiles with boobs hoisted too obviously into the centre of the profile.. Profiles using dat stpd txt msg tlk. Profiles say they live life to the full, to the max, & then they have absolutely no interests to back up that statement. What they really mean they love going out "clubbin", getting pi$$ed, & have nothing else to their small one dimensional lives.
Profiles with Children on: Profiles of pictures with kids on. This is a dating site. Profiles from girls/women in their late 20's/early 30's who have children over the age of 18. You had your kids when you were 12??? Profiles from people who are single, & they have "Want Children: Yes". Surely they should be considering having kids once they have met someone special. Not when they are single. People who have multiple children from multiple partners. Run the other direction.... very fast.
