If you read Kant at all, that also indicates intellect.

| Gaming Girls... yea or nay? Posted: 3/27/2008 9:35:38 AM | I love my games
I used to play D&D when it was around a table with a DM at a friends house..every Sunday for 4-6 hours. Lots of fun! Now I like my video games, RPG, Action/Adventure and Survival Horror... haven't got into the computer gaming...
My ex didn't get it...oh well
But I also work and raise a kid and am involved in my community... it's called BALANCE

| Gaming Girls... yea or nay? Posted: 3/27/2008 11:39:49 AM | D&D = the game named "Dungeons and Dragons"
DM = "Dungeon Master" In essence he's the game "referee"... and he gets to play all of the opponents the people will fight against.
A good DM is needed in order for the game to be interresting and fun...
And at least 2 of the 3 to 12 (I never tried with more without serious logistical problems comming up) players have to be decent about "roll playing" or it devolves into... rolling dice and keeping score.

I'll tell you how I configured Ramza so that he can pretty much solo the Deep Dungeon or how I pwn face with Pikachu in Smash Bros lol.
I can make a 100% satisfaction guaranteed claim that I am better with Ganon. The new SSB is incredible. I don't think my friends like playing it with me anymore though....

| Gaming Girls... yea or nay? Posted: 3/27/2008 12:25:16 PM | From what I've seen, among gaming males the demand for gaming females is rather high, which is natural for any situation of similar interests. In the gaming world however, the demand is especially high, possibly due to the lower number of females (overall) who are interested in gaming.
Non-gaming males would probably not be interested in participating in such activities, if they were they probably would have tried out some form of gaming already. Whether or not they "approve" of your interests would be based on their maturity level. If they are weirded out or feel threatened by your interests in gaming they are probably a bad match for you (and probably suck ) .
Personally, I tend to be attracted to girls who are a little nerdy, even if they are nerdy in a different way than I am. People who are nerdy, regardless of gender, tend to be intelligent and creative, although sometimes they lack in social grace and maturity due to a lack of variety in their socialization. That said, I find that nerdy people who expand their horizons a little despite their introverted tendencies tend to be the best people I meet.
As for whether or not I would participate in said activities, would be whether or not I enjoy them. I'd have to give anything I hadn't tried before a decent shot, and then participate based on if it was right for me or not. Participating in such activities even if you don't enjoy them, would do nothing more than hamper the experience for everyone else and I would not want to be a part of that. To be fair, I would want to have my significant other try the activities I enjoy, and hopefully I would be mature enough to drop the subject if she didn't like my interests.

That may well impress someone who is a Kant scholar. I would be happy with someone who read Kant (even in translation) and understood his philosophical arguments. One philosophy teacher I know is a very good reader and teacher of Kant, but probably could not correct his grammatical errors.

Little Ol Me rolls a 1,fails and turns to dust!!!!!
"Dammit,I knew I should have chosen to be a Tall/Dark/Handsome warrior and traded in my ol horse for a porche, replaced dangerous quests with a boring 9-5 office job and who knows those people may have accepted me and granted me a wish instead of mocking me and killing me with their scornful gaze!!!"

Its where the famous "I think therefor I am" comes from....
Read it carefully... look for the logic he uses.
He says in essence: "I said I am right therefore I must be right and anyone who disagrees is wring because I said so."
The most inept debate moderator would throw him out on his ear for that...
So much for famous philosophers...

Some times this site is so retarded.

| Gaming Girls... yea or nay? Posted: 3/29/2008 12:15:16 PM | not at all, i think most guys, especially here since we are into computers, are at least casual gamers themselves.
the outdoors types wont want to share your hobby with you and maybe wont devote time to it as much as you do, but its definetly NOT a deal breaker.
you know to be honest, i always wondered what it would be like trying to have sex with someone while gaming ...

But I have found that if anyone clicks a "Delete Post" the entire thread gets removed. I've asked about this to the mods but all I got was rudness. And knowing how touchy they can be, I'll just stop here.
Anyway... back on subject.
I'd love to find a gal who liked playing Gurps! Any ladies near me that likes RPG and wants to help start up a group... give me a shout!

| Gaming Girls... yea or nay? Posted: 4/1/2008 1:46:46 PM | | A lot of gamers on here seem to be computer games. What if she wasn't into computer games but wanted you to play D&D with her, or another table-top game? What if she had friends over at least once a week to play? Would this get on your nerves? | |

If I was 20 years younger, and lived in T.O., I'd already be asking you out.
As it is, you should have no problem finding guys who would appreciate your interests.
There are lots of gaming guys looking for girls like that like pen & paper RPGs, fantasy board games, etc.
Having friends over to play once a week would get on my nerves, but only because once a week isn't enough!
