"Pervert."

I can't say it, hear it, write it, or read it without AT LEAST smiling.
I don't know why.

(I know how wrong that is; I'm sorry.)

oh, i almost forgot Y'all

When I first moved to the deep south from New England, it took a bit of getting used to the accent. The word y'all is used by virtually 'every' human being from the South at some point during each day. But, it's tricky...for instance,

While "y'all" is actually a contraction for "you all," it is most commonly used in place of the plural form of "you." But, it can sometimes be used in the singular sense as well. I.E.....You're at breakfast...alone, and the waitress will say, " Do y'all want syrup with those pancakes, darlin'?. You're in the booth...alone. hmmmm.

"All y'all" , on the other hand, is generally used in place of "you all."
For example...
When speaking to two or three people: "Are y'all going to the movies?"
When speaking to several people: "Are all y'all going to the movies?"

Things are further complicated when using the possessive form of the word.
For example...
Is this y'all's car?"
or
"Is this all y'all's favorite color?"

And, you better get used to the words 'darlin', ma'am', sir, bubba, and...
tada.........
Bald Peanuts (boiled peanuts)

takes a while, but one thing is for sure, I find people much more friendly here, in general than in the cold Northeast Corridor

Cheers
Kimbo

I like to use y'all, and I've never been further south than DC.

My new favorite word is champlure, it means "to sing and weep, at the same time."

Words I like to say, and try to work into conversation whenever possible: swell, indubitally, fo' sho, nymphomaniac, resiliant, product, thingy, abscond, scamper, weave and smirk.
