| Ladies and their scars....What are your thoughts guys? Posted: 10/15/2005 4:04:07 PM | Ok, maybe "smarmy tripe" was too strong a term. No, it definitely was. Sorry. It's just that the use of certain cliches makes you wonder if someone is being sincere, or just trying to manipulate you. "Inner beauty" is one. So is "precious", "little", that sort of thing. Things that automatically make people say "Awww!" | |

|
| Mastectomy scars Posted: 10/15/2005 4:22:04 PM | For my part--
Would prefer both be present, or at least one, but if I really liked the woman-- it wouldn't be a deal breaker.

And I for one am not gonna concern myself... With whether or not anyone thinks I am trying to be anything other than myself... Life is way too short to be playing games with people's hearts...
Splishsplash... Kool handle... As for the scars... No matter how bad they may be... I'm sure they can't mask the person you are... Inside!

Posted: 10/15/2005 9:58:49 PM | They (scars)are all a part of who we are like our height and weigt the colour of our eyes or the colour of our hair where were from and where were going , are all the things that make us someone that others want to share their life with ,wether its the loss of a part of us or the scar that remains ,we are defined by who we are and not what we are , each scar tell another story of our life , and yes i would accept you as you are , and i hope you would do the same , signed scarred

| Ladies and their scars....What are your thoughts guys? Posted: 10/15/2005 10:03:39 PM | I have lots of scars...all surgical. I had my appendix out when I was 11....I still wore a bikini when I was a teenager and if people noticed, I would tell them I was climbing a picket fence and fell on it. (I was such a tom boy, they believed me) I had surgery on my tailbone, but I don't think anyone sees that scar. I had a hysterectomy, but I tell people that is my zipper hiding the sports car. Lastly, over 4 years ago I had boob surgery. About 6 weeks after the surgery my ex was rough with me and his actions interferred with the healing, so I have some really pronounced scars where I should have just some light lines. I dated only one man who actually said he had a problem with those scars. He later appologized to me for the comments he made and we are still friends today! | |

| Ladies and their scars....What are your thoughts guys? Posted: 10/15/2005 10:16:28 PM | I have a couple of funny scars myself. You know what? No-one has ever even noticed. I think most guys don't even consider that if they are into you as woman and a person they like. It just goes with the territory. I ain't no beauty, but I'm ok with my body the way it is.
I remember getting my gall-bladder out and having a long scar down my tummy, then when they did my dad it was the size of a pencil dot. A new way they did not have when I got done???? Doggonit that one really ticked me off..... But hey, it's all good now.
I do love the guys posting in this thread too. Some girls need to hear it's ok to have those woman's scars we all seem to end up over lifes paths. So thanks fellas.......nice posts....I love you all....

| Ladies and their scars....What are your thoughts guys? Posted: 6/6/2006 8:42:43 PM | Hiya SAMMY!!!!
Scars. The last serious relationship I was in, my girlfriend had a scar that ran from her midrift to the top of her right leg. She was so afraid I would shun her the first time I saw it. During the first moment of real intimacy between us, she was very reluctant to undress in front of me. She jumped under the covers and wouldn't let me see what she was so self consious about. When I finally found out, I gently asked her to let me see. When she showed me, I didn't bat an eyelash. I leant forward and kissed her scars. She cried. It was never an issue again.
Though we aren't together any longer, we still do talk, and she is a friend of mine.

Posted: 6/7/2006 7:30:19 AM | | For both women and men we should not be bitter , because that only means the previous people in our relationships have won. We should take our dissappointments and turn them into a learning experience for future relationships. Thus turning a negative into a positive, to keep from making the same mistakes again . eg Dating a married person .
