I wasn't born here either but I take offence the way this thread was presented.
We all live in this country therefore we are all Aussies... some with accent some without.
Actually when people used to ask me "you have an accent, I used to say no I don't you do"
anyway as I said we are all Aussies but then there are Anglo-Saxons Aussies and aboriginal Aussies and so many others types of Aussies...as long as we all live in this country we are all Australian but from different backgrounds.
Maybe the question should have been:
Would you date someone with a different ethnical background to yourself?
If that's the way it's put, my answer is
Yes as long as they are human and I love and respect them and they love and respect meā¦and we have enough in common.

| would u do it and be in relationship with someone not aussie Posted: 6/9/2008 7:52:53 AM | Awww Goddess... if I knew we could just change the original posters question, I would have posted ages ago....
That's just too easy....
Would I date someone with a different ethnic (al.. ) background?
Of course... especially if they could spell.... and happened to be born in New Zealand.... and had a great grin... and neat biceps...and knew how to cook.... and....
Oh, the answer is yes, ok?

You know thats not ethical... *tutt tutt*
There's not such thing as NEW pot... unless they have invented a hybrid I'm not aware of????
Now don't be tugging me off topic, you will get me in trouble again... lets keep discussing ethnical stuff...
... like wellies.
I wouldn't date a man in wellies. Simply couldn't, shouldn't, wouldn't.... but Johnny Rebs might be ethnical.

Pfffft....right, well now its been clarified. I am changing my answer.
Nup.
No.
Not a chance.
No freaking way.
(Ok, at the risk of sounding emphatic...I have said No, in as many ways as I know how and this post is still too short....)

Im amazed this pity post got to 4 pages.
So I guess your still looking for someone to marry quick to get that visa. Ive told you before you have to get a divorce first.
Now that whole post sounds so not needed.
Who the op is I have no idea but just looked at his profile he doesn't say he is married or need a visa....
why attack? do you have something that proves the point you've made???
There are a lot of people who enter this country and other countries by getting married if it's just for visa then it's wrong but what if they really fall in love. I think it's best to stop those who break marriages to get a visa first and trust me there are a lot of it is happening. But maybe we should get our facts right first and then do something about it.
I can go and on about that type of marriages it has affected my life and my child and I am actually dead against it but this isn't the thread for it....only I hope this poor member is not just getting attacked.
also re message 85, your post in the other thread really touched me and I was very happy to see you are a wise and just woman, but you just did exactly what you said was not acceptable.

| would u do it and be in relationship with someone not aussie Posted: 6/9/2008 6:47:51 PM | Hey Goddess... If "do it" in the OP's question means marriage... I'm not doing it.
That's my choice.
What's my crime?
I'm not insulting anyone... Just responding to the question (...in all its ever unfolding dimensions)

| would u do it and be in relationship with someone not aussie Posted: 6/9/2008 8:54:19 PM | Goddess of dreams: I tried to email you but I am restricted.
My evidence is that I know him and he is married, he is showing single on his profile but he is married, he came to Oz on a temp spouse visa, his wife left him. I tried to help him with work a few times. He asked me to marry him for visa purposes, I stopped having contact with him after that but I did tell him he has to get a divorce before he can try that angle with anyone.

You know, they have invented a new type of pot! True! They have! You can put an entire sheep in it. It is such a massive pot!
Nah, only kidding! I meant that the man went to a shop that sells pots, he pulled out his wallet and paid the cashier some money for this pot. This making his pot a new one! He took the pot home and showed it to his sheep! Until that pot has been used, it is considered a new pot. I do hope you understand this.
Hey, I wonder if that cashier is Aussie? Would be interesting to know.
Back on topic, sorry folks, just answering a question above. I wouldn't marry a kiwi for this very reason. I already have lots of pots!
And wellies too, but only to do the gardening in, not to cook in, I have pots for that.

| would u do it and be in relationship with someone not aussie Posted: 6/10/2008 1:44:04 AM | Some people are quite inventive types, if it is true, i never would have thought of POF as the ideal place to keep your visa going on by finding someone to marry you as a favour lol. And the beauty of POF is that it covers many countries so if you can't find a wife in one you can try another country. I guess you could call the forums a place where you can do marketing information gathering to see if it is realistic to find a woman to marry by asking strategic questions. | |
