Maybe I came over as a touch petulant in my post and my apologies to everyone for that. I should have made more of an effort for myself, but being shy in new company is a problem I need to work on.
I will probably try another meet sometime. I do admire the work that hosts put into these events.

The speed date is optional, you don't have to take part in that but certainly come along for a few drinks, it's a smaller venue than Madness and the music is quieter enabling everyone to have a chat with each other (and it's a good way to get to know some fish so that you'll feel comfortable at future big meets)
I won't take no for an answer

This was his first time co-hosting a meet and he had to have the bottle to go to complete strangers and ask them if they would like to have a wee daft badge, the idea being that single fishes have a way of breaking the ice with others. Love aint gonna look for you, u gotta get off your ass at these meets and actually talk to women. Think how much bottle it takes for a single woman to attend these meets! They are there to meet YOU!!!
The meets are what YOU yourself make of them, remember as hosts we can only try our best to pave the way and do it out of the kindness of our hearts!
I was at Madness last night and then co-hosted at the first Edinburgh meet and the hosts at both done a great job(myself included) but even doing hosting is no certainty of landing a fish (slippery creatures)!!
Dont be disheartened Big G come to the next meet and bring your bottle and your patter and gain confidence! U can give out the stickers!

soz cant post on forums using me macca58 id because i used a funny pic some time ago anyway here's me rant.
First of all i'd like to thank the hosts and madness for staging a great night, i'm sure like myself, most of you enjoyed the entertainment provided, now for the downside, why do some guys turn up at these events and act like complete richardkheads? the guy in question so i've been told, was an ex paratrooper, this guy was an fecking idiot and what he was doing behind certain females backs was nothing short of disgusting, luckily the bouncers acted swiftly and chucked him out (well done bouncers) before things escalated, meaning him getting his jaw cracked !! :) well mate you know who you are and i hope many more find out who you are and tell you, your NOT welcome, lets face it, your just a trouble maker with absolutely no chance of getting a woman, maybe you should seriously think about your sexuality and go for men instead, because that's the only way your gonna get your nat king, maybe all that jumping outta planes and landing on your head has seriously damaged your brain. if anyone would like to reply to my little rant, please email them too my macca58 addy, hopefully i hear from richardhead too, please note: all correspondence will be replied to up until Sunday as i'm leaving this site for a while to seek fame and fortune on The X Factor soooooooooooooo its goodbye from me and hopefully all the decent peeps on here find what they are looking for :) | |

I'm sorry you didn't have the best night Big G,think Donny covered everything on that topic and well done on your good hosting skills Donny, sounds like you did your best.
It does take alot of guts to walk into a meet alone and not knowing a soul and I applaud those who did so.We took a new fish under our fin lastnight and hopefullly she enjoyed her first meet and will come to others.
On the subject of the sex craved idiot that Macca mentions,glad we were not the only ones to notice his out of order behaviour..............and for the record it was Lomander who had a word in the bouncers ear about him...the last straw was when he was trying it on with a girl young enough to be his daughter.I'm glad the bouncers acted so quickly in removing the twat!

Posted: 4/20/2008 9:28:41 AM | guys and dolls looks like you all had a great time missed u all and big g please dont be put off the thing is if u put 100 people in a room its a fact of life that everyone will not all get on i have been to 3 meets so far and have enjoied every one of them i dont know everybody that goes but thats cool i have meet some genuine lovley people i get on with diffrent people for diffrent reasons and yes there are people there who are older than me and possiably younger aswell for example russell is a lovley dear person almost like a father figure from my point of veiw other people wd see it diffrent because human beings are all diffrent the thing about the meets there are diffrent personalities some bigger than others when i went to the very first meet i knew not a soul i was terrified to speak to anyone god knows where it came from now that the meets have been happin for a while people are matchin up etc and they know each other to the point they are gd freinds i mite not have meet anyone but it wont stop me from goin back to the meets at {some point in time when life is a bit less biazarre} i do hope to get back on track and go fishin
so please come to the next meet if i am there i do promise i will say hi
