| Geekness factor Posted: 5/19/2008 3:47:36 AM | Guess Im a band geek - still Have been playing flute trumpet etc for years. Listen to most genres of music - classical, opera etc.
Also recall lots of useless information and numbers. Good at work, policies and regulations can be spurted out without thought. But remembering people for their standard rego plate no's if freaky also still recall number of local hospital 10 years after my son was born there!
Apart from that just doing all sorts of granny craft and taking my hot water bottle to bed (there could be worse things to take)....................................... Yea I'm a geek even took me till 35 not to be let into a club for being too drunk! | |

| Geekness factor Posted: 5/20/2008 5:18:18 AM | | Does spouting off Shakespearean monologues gets me into the geek club? I also have a somewhat reflexive memory recall of Sydney post codes from when I sorted mail twenty years ago. Surely that will get me a guernsey. | |

*grin*
Is a geek the same as a nerd? Or is it one of those 'you are just SO not in with the IN crowd' word thingies?
If its the second I am a living example
The IN crowd hate me (with a passion) But like...as if I gave a ****
I do what I do and what I love to do Much of it is what others would consider to be nerdy But I have heaps of fun
Sorting out spasming PC's Chemical compositions of things that drive you insane Writing Ancient histories and anthropologies Oh and if its THAT cold..yes I WILL wear clothes to bed! An overcoat if necessary
I'm almost 50 and still have long hair Either tied up in a bundle on my head or in a long plait I dont wear makeup and couldnt see straight to put it on these days anyway
I LIKE sitting outside with my feet up on the table staring at stars And I collect STRANGE things (and strange people)
I create poetry (or it creates itself) while I am walking in nature I sometimes remember to write it down..
I am addicted to ug boots in winter and bare feet in summer I walk around with a pair of $3 reading glasses on my head And sometimes I am so engrossed in what I am doing...I forget to eat/drink and even pee
Give me a problem and I'll chew on it til it makes sense (then I remember I havent eaten since wednesday)
Yep! Definitely a geek | |
