I LOVE Dali. Specifically, A Couple with Their Heads Full of Clouds...I find it incredibly romantic. Persistance of Memory too, who couldn't love that...has so many emotions in it...

Ahhh, Dali ... yes, yes ... and Erte ... oh yea ... good call on both of those incredibly gifted artists ... they are at the top of my favorites list!

I love this particular artwork ...

Antique Ruins of Rome by Hubert Robert, 1786

The piece was part of a trilogy commissioned by the Grand Duke Petrovich for the halls of the Kamennoostrovsky Palace in St. Petersburg, Russia

What a great thread. One close to my heart... I love so many, but the two that really stick out in my mind are Edward Blair Leighton's - God Speed, and John Everett Millais' -Opheila. I guess I'm a Pre-Raphaelite junkie. :) However, as of late I have become very fond of Pino Daeni's work. :) Once again, great thread.

Daeni is new to me!

My goodness, its like a modern Manet crossed with Degas! ...or something...

Beautiful, thank you.

A wall mural of Dali's Persistence of Memory would be nice :-). Besides Dali, I also like Claude Monet.

If I could have ONE painting, I would love to own Claude Monet's 'Terrace At St. Adresse". I was fortunate enough to see an exhibit of some of his works years ago. The man was an absolute genius. His brushstrokes and use of colour are just brilliant.

I like Van Gogh's "Starry Night" as well as M.C. Escher.

Salvador Dali is interesting at times, too.

But, I'd also prefer a nice black and white photo that either myself or one of my daughters took.

There's an artist in the Arkansas area called William McNamara:

His paintings are so intricately detailed that they look like photographs.
