| Uniforms Posted: 4/1/2008 11:18:20 AM | I once was a man in a Army uniform and i can confirm it seems to do things for the ladies, best in full dress uniform with medals and shiny boots and weapons ready for inspection,by weapons i mean guns | |

Do women have a thing for fireman or is it all just a myth.
If so what is it? is it just the uniform and if so do police and other uniform wearers have the same attraction??
I have to admit to having a liking of a chap in uniform, when it comes to firemen I think it's a combination of the uniform and the fantasy of being "rescued", although I only actually know one fireman and lovely as he is I've never seen him in his uniform. When it comes to policemen, well..........lovely to look at and fantasise about but wouldn't date one........they're never off duty.

Well, I am sure that like in any occupation some are more keen than others.
But I cannot agree with the above comment. Of course if an officer sees a crime in progress he will intervene to save life or limb. But then, any decent person regardless of occupation would do something even if only to dial 999.
The world of law enforcement has become very dangerous. On duty, an officer wears body armour and is armed with baton and cs spray. He has a radio to summon back up. Off duty he is not armed and back up wont be so easy to summon. . Off duty interventions are therefore more dangerous and more officers than ever take the view that they are only to be recommended in cases that involve risk to life or limb.
On duty 24/7 ? Its only a job !! And this has been learnt the hard way for some.

| Uniforms Posted: 4/2/2008 5:08:42 AM | | I dont get the whole uniform thing at all. Mind you Ive worked in the uniformed services such as the army and the fire service so thats probably why. | |

Why is then, that when you are in a car with one who's off duty instead of the usual chat they constantly waffle on about "that car's got a brake light out" or "he's disqualified!" etc, etc ?

True, also another minus point when off duty he doesn't carry his handcuffs!

| Uniforms Posted: 4/2/2008 7:35:02 AM | | Being plain clothed .... damn thats why I never pull! | |

| Uniforms Posted: 4/2/2008 8:20:46 AM | | Nope, don't do anything for me, i much prefer the hippy - ish look. There are a lot of firemen on here though, and they always have a pic wearing their uniform. | |
|
| Uniforms Posted: 4/2/2008 8:44:54 AM | ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Oh NO they don't.........I've chatted with 3 firemen on here, not a pic of any of them in uniform. Although only met one of them (he is genuinely a firefighter) so the others could be fibbing.
Before you ask...no I'm not a firefighter groupie!!!! (we met as friends and are still good mates)
|
| Uniforms Posted: 4/2/2008 8:52:56 AM | I used to have a thing for guys in the army...then i married one and he put me off for life..now i have a thing for a plumber | |

I can only assume the ones you dated were a little more "keen" than average.
For most, 8 hours - 12 hours is enough and will happily switch off then !!
|
| Uniforms Posted: 4/2/2008 9:57:43 AM | I've lost count of how many times the old uniform comments are made to me when people, sorry, men find out what I do for a living! Where does it come from???
I like soldiers in their combat gear ? Why? probably because it stands for courage, honour, bravery, strong and above all their arses look a million dollars in the strides!! Fireman.........Well sam....a have many firefighting friends, men and women..so the uniform dont do it for me! Plus you can't see your ass in all the protective gear!

West Mids police especially lol
Stab proof vest, short white sleeve shirt and combat black trousers. The police officer as to be tall and fit....The trousers need to fit the bum nice!!
I better calm down, or might go into labour early!lol
EDIT: I used to be engaged to a soldier. I find the summer issue camoflauge sexier than the mess dress. I must like short sleeves lol....It just reminds me more of 'action'!
