Posted: 4/26/2008 4:58:35 AM | | Here is St Joe, ever since I was a little boy. We have had certain buildings at certain locations that no matter what kind of business went in there, it failed. I don't know if it's the location or just a long string of crappy owners or what. But this place seems to be one of those types of places. Seem everything that goes in here eventually goes under. How many people showed for this one, any idea? Also Friday's seem to be a bad night for events, even when we do FT. Now to me the word of the group speaks volumes about this place. And they will probably go under really soon if they can't turn things around. Service and cost... value is everything these days, especially with the prices of gas. If people are going to spend $20 in gas to get to your establishment then you better knock their socks off or your through. JMHO | |

I believe Keith left his cream filling on the table - what a waste of cream filling there fella! 
Fridays are a bit slower for the events this is true. But I wonder if more people would have come out had we known that the drink specials they were running?
and that bartender is a bit of a snot. Why does he even bother. He obviously doesn't enjoy his job. Isn't he one of the brothers? He got annoyed with me when HE dropped his tip (granted it was like 60cents - but that attitutude does not deserve anymore than that) and he gave Patty a stupid look when she asked if the heat could be turned down. Kinda makes you wonder if Mama DiCarlo isn't making young JR work against his will? | |

Posted: 4/26/2008 8:18:11 AM | I have been attending and hosting events a long time and I truly do not believe that the drink specials will make a difference. When we used to go to the Guac and they had a free taco bar and drink specials. That brought out some people but it brought out the cheap asses to eat for free and drink a few cheap and then go home and then we were usually left with the usuals. But they had good DJ'd music and atmosphere. Location, service and atmosphere are the keys plan and simple. Drink specials really don't do a lot for attendance. We all like what we like to drink. So unless they are doing all beer a buck and mixed drinks 2 bucks it isn't going to matter. Human nature is people will drink what they usually drink, special or not. What they need is good music, good employees.... wait staff and reasonable prices. 24/7 not when we are just there or they will fold... period. JMHO.... again  | |

Posted: 4/26/2008 11:48:59 AM | Hey all, I just wanted to say this was my first offical POF event. I enjoyed the company of all the new friends that I made and look forward to making more in future POF events and Next time I wont be scared to approach you all at the FT.
However on a sour NOTE I will never attend or give business to DiCarlos ever again. The Bartenders the male in particular had the most horrible attitude I have ever wittnessed behind a bar. I understand it is a family business and its family working but if the family have poor attitudes cause they dont want to be there I suggest they either hire from OUTSIDE FAMILY, or let the building set vacant again. THey will not do business with attitudes like that behind the bar.
I had the pleasure of chatting with Chuck Nasty aka 9 finger Charlie he was there cause he is a close personal friend of the Dicarlo family. I suggested that he tell them they needed to have a family meeting to discuss the customer complaints. Chuck Nasty said he was volunterring his time and donated there music collection to help them PUMP up their club and he was disrespected as much as everyone of us were. Matter of fact he went to set out in his car when most of us left to go to Eclipse in Raytown.
Again I want to Thank Kat for making me feel welcome along with so many others. It was great to meet you all.
PS I am really not a crabby **** like I seemed last night but when you are treated unworthy of good customer service I let my opinon fly. THose of you whom went to Eclipse hopefully could see the drastic change in my mood. Thanks for joining me there. | |

We've given them their chance...can't do much more.
I do think the drink specials were good this time with the DJ thing...but it still left alot to be desired....I guess James and I left before you all left to go to the Eclipse...I got home about 11:30 or before.
Would be nice if we could find a home base place...but I'm thinking those days are over...years ago when we did these things ..it was different.

I won't NOT go to DiCarlo's again, but it won't ever be my idea to go there. We've done better; we've done worse. Maybe the next place in that spot will be better.
