| Would you meet ? Posted: 4/1/2008 1:11:06 AM | In a word, yes.
BUT, I would need to know more about them before I met them (picture or not!) and would need to know how to recognise them!

| Would you meet ? Posted: 4/1/2008 1:56:15 AM | | It's all a bit like a lucky dip... but as fun as you make it. | |

| Would you meet ? Posted: 4/1/2008 2:02:55 AM | Some may have the misconception that meeting me is conditional on you having a pic that is within whatever criteria is applicable.
Its simply that I want to know who Im talking to..and whom Im meeting.
I must confess I did strike up a rather nice convo with a lass in Sth Melb once who WASNT the one I had gone to see..( on blind meet ) lol..
anyhow its as simle as that.. Ogres arent by nature complicated !!

| Would you meet ? Posted: 4/1/2008 3:52:50 AM | I'm sure I went on a date with Donkey once.....never again. Couldn't get a word in - and that's not easily done | |

| Would you meet ? Posted: 4/1/2008 4:45:25 AM | I don't trust people who don't put their photo up, noone's been able to give me a good reason of why they haven't got one. Are they married? Embarrassed by their looks? Of the reasons people have told me, it's mostly to do with being scared that a mate will recognise them.. I'm attracted to people with confidence and if they are worried what people will think of their photo, or scared what their mates or work associates will think.. then they probably aren't confident enough for me..
However if it was a "meet", ie: lots of people coming.. then I wouldn't care.
Even computer dummies can find someone who will help them scan a pic in, or they save it to a cd at the local Officeworks/Harvey Norman these days... so I don't understand it.. I'd love to know what reasons people have for not putting one up.
Aside from the reasons above, if they were just looking for "sex".. which apparantly alot of people are, and are ashamed about it.. then that might be a good reason to hide their identity.. which is another reason I wouldn't meet them :)

| Would you meet ? Posted: 4/1/2008 6:27:24 AM | ^^^^ Hello... I don't have a pic because I feel it detracts from who I am. Simple as that !
We live in a world of first impressions, and well, while I could compose either 3 or 300 lines about myself, a pic of myself is not gonna change the majority of people's first impressions.... yeah I'll admit it, I could be much better looking than I am.
However, this hasn't stopped me from being successful in other aspects of life.
I neither mistrust nor judge anybody here upon a first impression, pic or not. I much prefer to chat with someone and take it from there.
Now excuse me while I find my paper bag.... I'm camming shortly :o)

| Would you meet ? Posted: 4/26/2008 9:39:32 AM | One main reason why a high percentage of profiles dont have pictures is because they are not really single . . . I am not judging, just stating one of the main reasons why profiles dont have pictures. | |

|
| Would you meet ? Posted: 4/27/2008 2:53:26 AM | I was on POF for ages without a pic. At least a year.
I would chat via email here first, and if we seemed to have a similar sense of humour or seemed likeminded, I would invite them to join me on msn, where I have always displayed pics.
I wasn't married!.... or in a relationship!... or deceiving anyone... I was meeting ppl on the internet for crissake!!! AND SOME PPL ON THE NET ARE TOTAL NUTJOBS!
When I became more confident in my ability to handle the nutcases online, I added pics here, and then later ventured into here (the forums). I guess that means I am now an experienced nut handler... I really should add that to my resume.
People dont have to post a pic on here though... many will refer to their Live Msngr, Cam, Facebook, MySpace or Tagged page if they decide they'd like you to know more about them, and want to share a bit more of their personality. That's their choice.
In answer to the question, No I wouldn't. How do you explain to the local copper and your family, that you were waiting for a faceless dude called "Robin Hood" at Westfields, while you're house was being knocked off and you're pretty car you were telling him about is missing from the carpark????

| Would you meet ? Posted: 4/27/2008 3:07:54 AM | | I prob wouldnt meet people without a pic or at the very least a few half descent phone calls.......and i wouldnt expect people to meet me without a pic or the same phone calls. Too many freaks on the net not to have some sort of communciation be it visual or verbal before hand. | |

|
| Would you meet ? Posted: 4/27/2008 9:27:25 AM | Nope , sorry I just wouldn't feel comfortable meeting someone for a blind date. I don't consider it being shallow, it's just a personal choice. I trust my instincts and I consider a picture to be another part of the puzzle. | |

Yup, have done... no biggie. After some online email/chat etc you'll figure out if there's any point meeting up.
The hard bit is picking them out in a crowd...
