The one thing that always gets me laughing about this...

Have you ever noticed that it's always the mistakes of people whose ideas you happen to disagree with, that receive the most attention...? If someone from the party you voted for makes a mistake ("Damn Americans"... or assaulting a demonstrator...) it's passed off as a slip of the tongue, or done under provocation. But if you DIDN'T vote for those people, you're screaming for them to be lynched. (No matter HOW small the offence.)

OP - people DO learn, grow, and change their opinions. Is it not possible that this fellow is actually SINCERE in his regret for his statements...? Can't you forgive the errors of the past, and judge based on the work he's done since then...? (Which, from what I've seen in the newspapers, is actually pretty worthwhile...) Or is he just the most convenient target to spew venom at?

He was 40, in the time since he has voted against gay measures, and he got his seat by replacing another MP who made a statement about outlawing homosexuals.

He's also part of a party that makes consistent negative remarks about homosexuals.

I thought this thread was about some big injustice against Jews, blacks and foreigners. It's just a gay issue thread in disguise.
You would think this public servant was for "straights only" water fountains the way liberals carry on so. As if any gay man would drink nonbottled water.

Oh they make negative statements about them too, this particular video actually made fun of immigrants.

if you you know, had watched the video you'd know that too. Instead of a lame drive buy comment about homosexuals.

Gary1949: Bush found that he was elected governor of Texas mainly due to the evangelical Christian vote. If they has been Zoroastrans in Texas, he'd be pitching to them.

The "family values" thing works, even when you are busy screwing anything that might resemble a family value.
