Posted: 4/8/2008 4:52:20 AM | So far..I have to say its very enlightening.. Many of the answers and ideas I had expected..but its the methods and contexts that intrigue.
I suppose its a bit like we can have many accents to how we view this but then the medium sort of 'flattens' it and strips away many of the nuances of the how and why.
I often find its not so much what a person says but how they say it...kind of the packaging as it were. This is not possible to discern that well in this place ( the net ). A simple comment said with inflection becomes quiet whimsy...in leters only it falls flat.
So I suppose im here to open conduits to the possibility of discovering character. Looks and appeal etc are undeniably important...but its not always the overtly percievable things that attract. Maybe Im trying to finesse this medium to produce something it can't.. ..I dont know .
I dont think in all honesty I really expect too much to occcur as a result of my time here.. but you never know, surprises can come from the least expected origins.

I'd pretty much given up on the internet dating thing by the time I'd gotten here...It only took about a month of trying on a few other sites for disillusionment to set in. I've actually started enjoying myself a lot more and met some interesting people since I stopped taking it all seriously.
I also enjoy the medium (written word) cos for someone like me who hasn't strung more than two sentences together since high school and most of those started with
"I must not........"
"I must not........"

Posted: 4/8/2008 7:23:00 AM | if u cant meet someone in everyday life, ie: pub, club, work, friends, down the street, park or wherever the net isnt really going to change that so much. it will open a door to 'singledom' a place where ppl go to find someone.. so ur opportunities increase.. alot. in some ways.. too much so.. to the point for alot that they wonder about the ppl they haven't yet met. when its going to happen, it will just happen.
as for me.. i stumbled on this site when there wasn't a large aussie component.. that was about 2.5 years ago. and i am just here mostly for forums, have only met about 6 or 7 in that time and no one for a year maybe? not sure. i get bored of the forums and then dont bother much, but then come back. i like mostly reading them and sometimes replying.
i am a big believer in that u cant find 'the one'.... but the net does provide greater opportunities.. u know that old motto 'gotta be in it to win it' ... lol doesnt mean u will though! | |

" I WONDER WHAT'S ON THE FORUMS RIGHT NOW !!?? " syndrome . Love the insights and laughs on the forums . And just love the everyday people being themselves . It's like a forumhood . So yea.. things have changed , be ya self no pressure , no complicated intros . Whatever clicks will click in its own sweet time spoze . | |

Posted: 4/9/2008 3:11:10 AM | | When i moved to were i am now it was hard as i didn't know anyone so i went and brought a computer witch i use to make new friends meet new people its hard when you don't no people and you move to a new town you feel rely gullible as you know no one so i went on the net and its been a really good eye opener to what else is out there in Aussie and around the world witch is good and yes the forums are addictive are they its nice to meet new friends along the way | |

I like to come here and post. I find it relieves some of my stress caused by work and study. I also hope to make a few online friends.

I find I post in the forums most of the time. I hope to enlighten things a bit.

i have met some nice guys who will always be friends but not the ONE!
i have done the whole find myself thing and like what i found, but how can guys see what i've seen if they only want to chat online and write on these forums ? anyone can write what ever they like on a computer when they dont have to look each other in the eye!! | |
