Oh this is so heartwarming. In a thread were it would seem impossible to make everyone see your POV, without any friends to back it up, there is hope for us all.

I agree ^^^ sigh... so heartwarming...
Mind you, I got a lot of positive energy from the Fairytales thread too.

One can't help but be moved by the authenticity.

Sid and LC
When you have no success in addressing someones common sense in a debate because they are reacting irrational, you can address their ego - and in most cases it works.
Lets call that 'slicing truffles'.
That is very useful when one wants to prevent name-calling, which tends to make threads disappear overnight (!)
While one looses some audience, one can make a point without 'gang warfare'.
The advantage of that should be obvious by now.
The written format makes it hard to convey the actual intent of a statement, especially if there is sarcasm mixed under.
And i agree with you both: Sometimes when you feel really 'heartwarming' its because somebody is pissing in your pocket . . .

Here's a story that is not about mutual consent between a father and daughter,

AN Austrian woman has claimed she was kept prisoner and abused by her father for 24 years in a basement dungeon in eastern Austria, where she bore him six children, Austrian police said.

The 42-year-old woman has been named by police as Elisabeth F and told authorities she had been abused by her father, now 73, since the age of 11.

She told police her father Joseph lured her into the basement of their house in the town of Amstetten in 1984, and drugged and handcuffed her before locking her up.

"She had been abused continuously during the 24-year-long imprisonment,'' the statement said.

"This led to six children.''

Yeah, I'm not really OK with that.

Um... What do you do with the children? I mean... assuming they survived their unconventional genetics and were able to grow up, how do you explain that mummy is locked in the basement?

EDIT: They were locked up with their mother. I should have read the article.
