While this is indeed true, the right partner can make all the difference. I think this statement applies to both men and women.
Many people enjoy sex, but many are unable to communicate during, about, before. For some, sex happens first and foremost in the mind.

If you are with someone who does not think sex is important or cannot talk about it in an open free manner - things quickly go sour.

coffeelover....I have to agree somewhat with what you said. A lot of times, it is in the mind of the 'squirter' but if she knows that the man would be ok with her 'letting go', that's half the battle. It can depend on many things and sexual attraction (chemsitry) plays a big part of it for me. I have to be really into the guy and feel totally comfortable with him and he has to be a great kisser - because that's what gets me going  Its not going to happen with every man, every time but if two people are really connected - mentally & physically, chances are it'll happen. I'm not sure how to answer your question as to how to make a wife/lover feel comfortable enough to let go. I would think that if someone is in a relationship, their comfort level is already there. Communication can only make sex better, so perhaps talking would go a long ways.

Dave...I think the reason why these people are missing is due to the title of the thread Women who squirt. I've participated in a lot of other threads that you mentioned and you're right - there are usually lots of people claiming it doesn't exist solely because they've never experienced it. Can't say that I miss seeing them on this one though 
Kiefmeister had it right - two people should enjoy each other and make it an pleasurable experience for both parties involved.
