I really like the guy's idea of having you go to a MMA gym over there in England and having you challenge one of them to a sparring match. I'd be curious to see how far your wang chung and cardio kickboxing gets you then.

Posted: 5/12/2008 10:12:36 PM | I'm actually getting ready to start up at a new place now...I lived out in VA for a while and got started at Hybrid Academy and just recently moved back here and I'll be starting at Big Bully Martial Arts...not any real big names there, but Scott Henze is the guy that runs it.
I've done some lower level BJJ tournaments, but not anything big like GQ. | |

The thing with GSP is that he not only beats top fighters, he makes them look like they're in the wrong sport. That leaves an impression.
Matt Hughes is a hall of fame lock, and in 2 of the three fights, he looked like he didn't even belong in the same building. The second Serra fight, Trigg, Koscheck, Sherk (who again, was far outsized, but still). He's definitely the man to beat. He's got Jon Fitch next, I think. That should be a whole thing unto itself. | |

That wasn't by accident or design. It was a learning lesson... for those wise enough to take heed.
Anyway, seeing a GSP vs. Silva or GSP vs. Penn wold definitely be something. But I agree that he needs to successfully defend his title first... just to see how his psychological fitness stands up. Not too many true contenders left for him to defend it against though! | |
