Name it is the same way on the Obama side. If Clinton is on the ticket I will vote for Nader. Many Obama people will not vote for Clinton. The way things are going if the democrats do not get things together McCain will win.

I'm one of many Republicans that would vote Obama over McCain and McCain over Clinton. I have to believe that people have to be scratching their heads at why Obama will be the known nominee after tomorrow even after all the negativity.

Republicans that feel betrayed by their party voting for a candidate that might do things differently.

Right or wrong doesn't matter. We have McCain representing those that betrayed us. Hillary is then the establishment Democrat... the enemy.

If to choose between McCain and Obama, the disenfranchised Republicans vote for Obama. If to choose between two that offer no change in course, we don't vote for the enemy that gives us nothing new substantially.

Just as the Reagan Democrats made him the Electoral force that he was, the Obamacans decide this general election.

itechman42 you are correct.....

The real fight will be between Obama and McCain. The republicans do not like the Clinton's are better yet almost loathe the Clinton's. So, they will all vote for McCain and if the superdelegates put Clinton on the ticket because she will not have enough votes to win without them putting her on the ticket, Obama's people will not vote for her and he is in the lead all the way around. It would be different if she had more popular votes and he had more delegates, but he has more of both. So, if the superdelegates place her on the ticket McCain will win by a landslide.

Now the republicans will still vote for McCain, but some of the independents and the Obama supporters will still vote for him and he has won the popular votes and delegate votes that so that will be a real fight.

Not if Clinton is placed on the ticket and she has not won anything.

Elections are won or lost by unaffiliated voters. If Clinton is on the ballot, Nader gets more votes and Republicans vote McCain. If Obama is on the ticket, Nader gets fewer votes and some Republicans vote Obama.

Of the three, Clinton is third in electability because no one crosses to her side.

Whether it is Clinton or Obama, whoever gets the nomination I will support as far as Democrats are concerned. And from there making the congress realize they work for us. McClain doesn't have a clue, and we don't need him in office. according to some recent polls by CNN, he is now starting to gain a lot of the youth vote, which isn't good news. If this party becomes fragmented, it will just make McClain more than likely, our next president.

His stance on the war is by far, the only reasonable one to date.

For a hundred years? You have to be kidding. Only a true war monger who cares nothing about anyone could even think that. It's amazing.

if we wanted more empty rhetoric,

What facts do you have that suggests that? Anything?

he's just another song on the old play list.

Just more vacuous talking points or do you have something to support that??

They remind me of people who think they can do a better job than their boss after only a few days on the job.

Can you think of anyone in the world who could possibly do a worse job than your present "boss"? Or would you prefer Bush III (McCain) for four more years of the same misery?

Barry "The racist" Obama

A black man? A racist? Where are you getting that from? This is just more neocon talking points that bobble heads repeat because they just don't have a clue what they're talking about.

> such is the price we're presently paying in Europe - we occupied after the war was over and continue to do so throughout Europe and Japan. Mind you, these became critical outposts for the cold war- so too could an occupied middle east - it won't be a continuous shooting war, but will be a presence to respond to and quell relevant flashpoints as they manifest and threaten our interests.

And for once, drop the warmonger talk. Most rational people don't want or celebrate war -Mr. McCain, a decorated war veteran being chief among them. Rational people however, realize that sometimes war IS the answer - in this situation, we couldn't pull out if we wanted to - you really think Barak Obama, whose only relevance a few years ago was fixing speeding tickets for his friends, is really in a position to draw our forces down?

He isn't and this is why - the second he tries to impose these grandiose plans of 'yes we can!' people far wiser than him are going to come out and say, Barak, No You Can't. This demand for an immediate and cowardly withdrawal from the Middle East will ensure 2 major things that I demand you so called 'peace' types consider - the immediate escalation of civil war an Iranian incursions in Iraq, resulting within 2 years, an extension of the Iranian State. This will lead to concern number 2 - an expanded Iran, with limitless resources and land by which to threaten her neighbors and eventually the United States.

Yes, I know the reigon is fragmented by tribal infighting and other concerns - but bear in mind, Muqtada Al-Sadr remains an agent of Iran - elements like him will unify the country JUST enough to allow an extended Iran.

And guess what that means? you will be responsible for setting the stage for ANOTHER middle eastern incursion by the United States.

This begs the questions, Barak who? Barak what? Barak why?

Racialist is more appropriate when defining Obama...from his career choices, stance on issues, his book, his statements, and his church, these all show a Racialistic perspective...

To Angelking - couldn't have said it better myself but most people don't want a realistic view, they want hope, and that's what obama is selling.

As to bluesman - I guess I was unclear because I in no way want someone to think I was sticking up for Bush. No, I was talking about the obama supporters and how dissappointed they will be when he renegs on all he has said because like angelking stated there are going to be a lot of people telling him no.

As far as the same old song - aren't people comparing obama to kennedy? Isn't that an old song. And IMO obama is doing the same thing bill clinton did in '92. He's just using the word hope instead of change.

I said in a previous thread that the 2 dems will cancel each other out and the rep will win and it looks like we are still headed there. But I've also never seen a senator win in my lifetime, let alone a woman or a black man. They are usually pushed out of the race early on.

not me - Im hoping she wins and convinces the super delegates to vote her in. this does 2 things - ensures a mccain vs clinton ticket and of course, irritates all the new voters who fell for 'hopeless change' obama into voting correctly.

She will probably win, even Obama believes that. If the superdelegates place her on the ticket and she has not majority of the delegates nor popular vote McCain will win. Tonight on the news they were talking about how in the beginning Americans would support either person on the ticket, but now 30-40% of them would switch parties. The democratic party is divided.

I'm still waiting for you to show us all this 'racialist' information you keep going on and on and on and on about.

His statements?

His stances on issues?

His book?

I didn't know he owned the church.

Care to give links or facts where he said anything to show his 'racialist' agenda? I asked you some time ago, and you've yet to answer. Yet you keep posting in most every thread about it.

I guess the exit polls are saying it's too close to call.

As Hillary needed a 20 point win here (and in all the remaining contests) to stay viable, that would seem to mean the Democratic race is over. If she doesn't pull the plug the wise old people in the party will tell her it's over.

20%??? That sounds like a talking point straight out of the Obama camp.

The facts are these: neither candidate is likely to get enough delegates to win the nomination. So it comes down to the argument you make in front of the superdelegates. One of the arguments the Clinton camp can make is on the popular vote. If you count both the caucuses (favoring Obama) and FL, Obama is ahead by 532,000 votes. PA will probably have 4.5 million voters today. If she wins PA by 20%, she is not just viable, she has taken a 400,000 lead in the popular vote!

I would argue that if she gets an 8% win, she has basically eliminated his lead in the popular vote. Her camp can then make the case that Michigan should be counted, and that even if you gave every non-Clinton and uncommitted vote there to Obama, Michigan gives her a clear majority of the popular vote over all.

Yes, Name it is a numbers game at this point. I have not seen the final results. I just made it home from my son's Sports Banquet. We had a great time. In Texas they were not posting any results. They just kept saying the race in close, but in favor of Clinton. Obama stated he knew it was in her favor. What they kept talking about before I left for the banquet is the fear that the democratic party is going to polarize to the point that McCain will win. I truly feel that is going to happen. I know several republicans that have supported Obama. Let's see what is going to happen with the superdelegates.

'Most of those new Democrats were mobilized to come out for Obama, and they were nearly one-fifth of Obama's supporters. Even the former Republicans favored Obama over Clinton, largely invalidating rumors that Republicans would vote strategically in the Democratic primary in support of Clinton, hoping she would be easier to defeat in November.'

Correction to 119: I'm wrong about 4.5 million voters - I think that's the total number registered. Turnout will probably be about 2 million.

Hi, Simmah

That's what I'm waiting for too, Violet. I don't know what he might find to show Obama is a racialist by his voting record.

And he keeps saying he's not racist, but in every single post he has made about Barack, it's been about Barack being a 'racialist', having a hidden 'racialist' agenda, and his racists views in his policies and the work he's done, OH and his church. He owns one, you know.

Yet, not once has Insolent posted facts to back all of this up. Not once.

ra·cial·ism -
n. An emphasis on race or racial considerations, as in determining policy or interpreting events.

Care to give links or facts where he said anything to show his 'racialist' agenda?
Most of this info is directly from his website...
Lets start with his church and go from there-
"Barack, Michelle and their two daughters Malia, 9, and Sasha, 6, live on the south side of Chicago, where they attend Trinity United Church of Christ.(Black Liberation Theology)
Strengthen Civil Rights Enforcement
He will put an end to the ideological litmus tests used to fill positions within the Civil Rights Division.
Combat Employment Discrimination
Obama will work to overturn the Supreme Court's recent ruling that curtails racial minorities' and women's ability to challenge pay discrimination.
Expand Hate Crimes Statutes
Obama will strengthen federal hate crimes legislation and reinvigorate enforcement at the Department of Justice's Criminal Section.
End Deceptive Voting Practices
Obama will sign into law his legislation that establishes harsh penalties for those who have engaged in voter fraud and provides voters who have been misinformed with accurate and full information so they can vote.
End Racial Profiling
Obama will ban racial profiling by federal law enforcement agencies and provide federal incentives to state and local police departments to prohibit the practice.
Reduce Crime Recidivism by Providing Ex-Offender Support
Obama will provide job training, substance abuse and mental health counseling to ex-offenders, so that they are successfully re-integrated into society. Obama will also create a prison-to-work incentive program to improve ex-offender employment and job retention rates.
Eliminate Sentencing Disparities
Obama believes the disparity between sentencing crack and powder-based cocaine is wrong and should be completely eliminated.
Expand Use of Drug Courts
Obama will give first-time, non-violent offenders a chance to serve their sentence, where appropriate, in the type of drug rehabilitation programs that have proven to work better than a prison term in changing bad behavior.
Obama has worked to promote civil rights and fairness in the criminal justice system throughout his career. As a community organizer, Obama helped 150,000 African Americans register to vote. As a civil rights lawyer, Obama litigated employment discrimination, housing discrimination, and voting rights cases. As a State Senator, Obama passed one of the country's first racial profiling laws and helped reform a broken death penalty system. And in the U.S. Senate, Obama has been a leading advocate for protecting the right to vote, helping to reauthorize the Voting Rights Act and leading the opposition against discriminatory barriers to voting.
Obama will also create an energy-focused youth jobs program to invest in disconnected and disadvantaged youth.
Obama will create a 10 percent universal mortgage credit to provide homeowners who do not itemize tax relief. This credit will provide an average of $500 to 10 million homeowners, the majority of whom earn less than $50,000 per year.
Obama's STOP FRAUD Act provides the first federal definition of mortgage fraud, increases funding for federal and state law enforcement programs, creates new criminal penalties for mortgage professionals found guilty of fraud, and requires industry insiders to report suspicious activity.
ap Outlandish Interest Rates on Payday Loans and Improve Disclosure:

the 21st Century Learning Centers program
Obama will reform the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit by making it refundable and allowing low-income families to receive up to a 50 percent credit for their child care expenses.

Obama will quadruple Early Head Start, increase Head Start funding and improve quality for both.
the 21st Century Learning Centers program,
Obama's "STEP UP" plan
GEAR UP, TRIO and Upward Bound

Districts can reward teachers who work in underserved places like rural areas and inner cities.
Create the American Opportunity Tax Credit:
Simplify the Application Process for Financial Aid
His very first bill sought to increase the maximum Pell Grant award to $5,100
Obama has also introduced legislation to create Teacher Residency Programs and to increase federal support for summer learning opportunities.
Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit by making it refundable and allowing low-income families to receive up to a 50 percent credit for their child care expenses.
$1 billion over five years in transitional jobs and career pathway programs that implement proven methods of helping low-income Americans succeed in the workforce.
As president, Obama will work to ensure that low-income Americans have transportation access to jobs. Obama will double the federal Jobs Access and Reverse Commute program to ensure that additional federal public transportation dollars flow to the highest-need communities and that urban planning initiatives take this aspect of transportation policy into account.
Global poverty act
The Global Fund
Dreams from my Father
Obama worked on cases where the firm represented community organizers, pursued discrimination claims, and on voting rights cases.
Obama will work to ensure that ex-offenders have access to job training, substance abuse and mental health counseling, and employment opportunities. Obama will also create a prison-to-work incentive program and reduce barriers to employment.
Obama will provide all low and middle-income workers a $500 Making Work Pay tax credit to offset the payroll tax those workers pay in every paycheck.
Obama will sign into law his Responsible Fatherhood and Healthy Families Act to remove some of the government penalties on married families, crack down on men avoiding child support payments, and ensure that payments go to families instead of state bureaucracies.
Obama will expand the highly-successful Nurse-Family Partnership to all 570,000 low-income, first-time mothers each year.
bama will create an Affordable Housing Trust Fund to develop affordable housing in mixed-income neighborhoods
Community Development Block Grant Program
Establish 20 Promise Neighborhoods-The Promise Neighborhoods will be modeled after the Harlem Children's Zone, which provides a full network of services, including early childhood education, youth violence prevention efforts and after-school activities, to an entire neighborhood from birth to college. "

Many of these will coincidentally benefit people who may not be African American but You can definitely see that his focus is on the Black Community..
