| Mom, Momma, Mommy ? Posted: 4/10/2008 10:29:21 PM | It was Mommy & Daddy when I was little, changed to Mom & Dad at some point, now it's Mom & Poppy. When speaking with others I typically call them my Mom & Dad, sometimes I'll say 'the parental units' just because I think it's a funny phrase. I have this funny thing where I sometimes trade off between 'Mom & Poppy' and 'Poppy & Mom' because I wondered if my Dad was insulted he was never first. Is that weird? I've never called them Mother & Father, just way too formal for us. My nephews call them Grammie & Papa which I think is cute. One of my brothers calls my Mom 'the fossil' and my Dad 'the old man'. OMG, how rude is that! Same bro frequently refers to me as Broadzilla so perhaps he is just generally lacking in manners! | |
