Posted: 4/9/2008 6:45:52 PM | My first reaction was to say that this was a ridiculous question and obviously a joke. But I sat back and thought about it... I can see why some women might feel intimidated by a younger woman. Perhaps they've grown with the misconception that younger is better, just like some women (and men) have the misconception that if you have a certain financial/physical/ whatever status you are better off.
Personally? I don't hate younger/older/skinnier/fatter/prettier/uglier women. I am so focused on who I am and on making myself and my brood happy that I have not time for comparing myself to anyone else and thus feeling inferior to (or feeling hatred towards) them. I think your friend needs a hobby - perhaps one that helps her feel good about herself, no matter what circumstances she finds herself in.
Just my honest opinion...

I think everyone is entitled to their own taste or opinion. Should it not be about the person, or better how two people interact? I have dated older and younger men and in some cases, the younger ones were more mature than the older ones. And the older ones eternal "kids".
BTW, I think it is a dumb concept to believe that it is natural for a man to want a less mature woman and for a woman to want a more mature man....WHY??? | |

For one thing, I don't HATE anyone and really don't like the use of the word at all - it's an ugly sentiment that we need to rid this world of. And secondly, I like women of all ages...some more than others!
So, in answer to this question, and in reading the responses, I have to say 'No, all women do not hate younger women'.

Posted: 4/9/2008 8:01:22 PM | | some people are just ruled by their own insecurities...this applies equally to both men and women. i've heard women moan about young bimbos who are all bubblegum and glitter, just as much as i've heard men gripe about hot young studs with lineups of women at their bedroom door. both see only competition, and they're ruled by their fears of not measuring up to a perceived standard. it's stupid really. some guys adore older women, just as some younger women lust for older men...and others prefer the reverse. so there's quite simply no rule of attraction that applies universally to either gender. as for all the insecurity and bs...ladies and gentlemen, you can't control the competition, but you can control your role in the game. frankly, you'll probably do better if you focus on yourself rather than on petty jealousies and assumptions. | |

Now, in answering the question, I like younger woman- and older woman - and same age woman. One of my best friends is almost 20 years younger than me -- and she could be my mental twin! I get along very well with younger women -- they don't bother me in the least. However, I think the key here is that you have to be secure in yourself and very comfortable in your own skin, which I am. Otherwise, that little green monster may sneak in and block your vision, and that's not a good thing in my opinion. I like to see people for who they are, not what age group/race/nationality, etc. they represent. I have been labeled a "people person" many times in my life...I suppose it's true...and I like it that way.  | |

so given your statement it stands to reason that you're attracted to women in their 30's, 40's, 50's, maybe older....but it seems that you're unwilling to act on that attraction.

you're obviously attracted to all types of women...and all ages. what's holding you back from enjoying life without limits?
like i said earlier...the only thing you control is "your role in the game." sounds more like you're basing your relationships on assumptions about biology, what you think you "should" want, and what other people think, rather than being open to whomever you're attracted to...live in the moment and don't overthink so much. it's this exact 35+ is over the hill mentality that feeds the insecurities of women as described in the OP's post. so it's less of a matter of hating younger women, but rather a matter of hating how some guys perceive older women when comparing them to younger women.

BS. You made that crap up. Do you have any evidence for either claim?
Most men date women because they are attracted to them, whether they're younger, older, or whatever. I have dated older, I have dated younger. I have dated peers, and people of different socionomic levels.
Your use of the term "lower food chain" is offensive, as if someone less well off than you are is - what? - beneath you somehow? What a crock.
Also: sometimes financial security increases with age, sometimes it decreases. It depends entirely on your own personal circumstances, not on your age. | |

Do I hate, younger women, absolutely not....
As to the age thing, my serious relationship was with someone 10 years younger than me, he looked older and everyone thought I was the junior one

But, no, not all women hate younger women. Or, sounds like your friend might wish you were more attracted in someone your own age (her).

As for me, I don't hate younger women. I think they are delightful, fun and I admire their beauty.
